Chapter 7 - CH007

"This mutt is my fated mate?" Knox snarled, his voice dripping with disdain.

"Our...." Kade corrected, his eyes not leaving the silver thread that bound three of their wrists together.

Zenon said nothing but his gaze didn't leave Olivia for a second. There was an unreadable feel in them as they neither showed darkness nor rage.

Olivia was too stunned. Great! So now she was going to be stalled here for a while longer. Of all people the moon goddess decided give her as a mate, she chose these dickheads for her? Impressive.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Knox retorted again, clearly still startled by the whole occurrence.

Olivia was an omega. Worse, a wolfless one.

When she had turned sixteen she got no wolf like her mates. That not being the issue, she was also a bastard!

Their father's, as her mother had been the previous Luna who betrayed him and brought in a bastard child for him.

As if that wasn't enough, she was also their cousin! Just what was fate playing with this set up?

"I'll reject the mate bond to save us all the time..." Olivia said, calling attention to herself with her words.

She didn't care. Even knew that it would be hard to leave the pack from this point on. But she had to slip away one way or the other, unless she risked being found out.

"Over my dead body Olivia. You'll never be the one to reject me. It's going to be the other way round with you accepting my rejection" Knox responded.

He was the one who hated her the most amongst the triplets. The one who never failed to remind her of her place and status if they ever met. The one who always pretended not to know her at times as well.

"Why would the moon goddess play such a cruel joke on us? Making us mates with our cousin? Worst of all, her?" Kade chirped in, glancing at Olivia for a second with veiled disgust.

He hated this more than the others. More than Knox who was unraveling and ranting about it. Even more than Zenon who stood silent, masking his own inner turmoil.

"Go ahead and say the rejection vows! Don't waste my time any further!" Olivia snapped, her voice rising above her lungs.

She'd hearing footsteps approaching and she couldn't waste any more second being here.

Whether or not she were the one who said the rejection vows or the one to accept the rejection, it would still be the same thing.

Although this was the first time a wolf would have three fated mates, she was very sure the rejection would be pretty much like other ones.

Painful if any of the parties refused to accept the rejection, and not if both parties did.

This proved she had a wolf. Maybe she was still sleeping but she was in her though dormant.

They should be quick about saying the rejection vows because if they didn't, she would do so on their behalf.

Never in her life would she be the mate of these arrogant and spoilt brats. Not now, not ever.

"I, Knoxville...." Knox started before his voice trailed off as he got interrupted.

"Be careful Knox, we still don't know why we got fated to our cousin and why it is all three of us. I suggest we calm down and wait till the elders arrive" Zenon cautioned lightly, but this only earned him a smirk from Knox.

He stopped his words, yes, but deep down, he had felt embarrassed being cut short by the goldenboy of the family. The first of the three.

Great. Now there was no way she would be able to leave. Wait for the elders? Over her dead body.

"I have more things to do with my time..... Alpha" she stressed, facing Zenon whom her response was directed at.

" And Incase you're still waiting for the elders to arrive to explain the meaning of the mate bond to you, I'll have to leave before that. Incase we meet again in the future, then we'd all say the rejection vows properly"

That would be if they were ever to meet in the future. She snickered in her mind.

Leaning below Kade's arm which was on the gate, she had crossed the barricade they'd created with their body over the gate but immediately she was about to take her first step, she felt her hair being pulled.

Turning, she found out that it was Zenon. Oh what does he want now. He thought.

Still thinking, she saw the elders approaching, and alongside them was the Alpha, and her late mother's sister, the Luna.

"Olivia?" She said in surprise, seeing the thread that was glowing on her wrist.

Olivia glanced back angrily at Zenon. He was the cause of this, and she was going to have her revenge on him for ruining her plans.

"Olivia?..." Someone else called from the crowd.

"She's the fated mate of the alpha?"

"She's fated to not just one but three of them?" Another exclaimed, the confusion and surprise trailing his voice.

They all looked more surprised than the triplets.

"She's the one?" One of the elders even said, but the head was quiet, staring at Olivia as if he had just seen a ghost.

"Can I reject the bond now? I can't stand any more minute having to remind myself that I'll be bonded to her forever" Knox snorted, "Of all people....." He added, not hiding his disgust.

"But they are there connected on the same thread, what would happen if one of them rejects the bond?" Someone questioned from the crowd.

His words seemed to have garnered attention as there seemed to be a whisper of support from the crowd.

"Does that mean anything, Elder?" The Alpha Darius, clearing his throat finally asked.

He'd been shocked by the phenomena as well but had been quietly seething in his confusion.

The head elder shook his head before he stepped forward to speak.

"Although this is a very rare phenomena, I don't believe it is ideal for the prince, or any of the triplets to reject the mate bond"

A whisper sizzled in the air.

"What do you mean by that?" The Luna snapped, asking the question Kade and Knox had been about to. Zenon just stood like a statue, digesting all that was being said, all while being unable to take his eyes off Olivia.

"The three princes are connected to one thread, and that means that their souls are interlocked and tethered to the young lady. She can't reject them either. They all risk dying if she does"

A ripple of gasps and murmurs shot through the crowd. And the Luna stared at Olivia maliciously, as if she were the one controlling the mate bond.

"What? Excuse me? She can't reject me?" Knox snarled angrily, still not ready to believe what he had heard.

"You've got to be kidding me!" Kade added after him, his hand balling into fists. If there was a way for him to snap the thread, with the look in his eyes, he was ready to.

Zenon just stood quietly again.

"The elder hasn't been wrong ever since my father became Alpha. Can he be telling a lie now?" He muttered, his words more like a reminder than it was supposed to be a question.

Olivia just stood with her mouth ajar. No. She was going to reject them and whether they died after or not was neither of her concerns.

Perhaps if she did and the princes were to faint, she would use the commotion the scene would cause to slip and run away.

Bracing herself, she heaved a sigh.

"I, Olivia...." She wasn't half into saying the rejection vows when a venomous voice shot through the crowd.

"She stole my scent!!"
