Chapter 3 - Elinor

Dalrina lay on the grass, her eyes fixed on the sky, following the clouds as they slowly drifted by. The garden, despite its greenery, felt lifeless. Boredom crept into her soul like a silent beast… gnawing at her moments without mercy.

Suddenly, the silence was broken.

A faint sound… a rustle in the nearby bushes.

Her legs trembled, but she stood up and approached with hesitant steps. Her curiosity, as always, was stronger than her fear.

As she pushed the leaves aside, her eyes widened in amazement:A small dragon… crimson-blue in color, shimmering as if it were made of ice.

She whispered in awe:"Wow… you're like a piece of the cold sky."

She gently extended her hand, and the dragon approached without fear. She picked it up and gazed at it with wonder. She played with it, talked to it as if they had known each other forever. The whole day passed with them together—sometimes she chased after it, other times it clung to her fingers with its tiny wings.

But as the sun began to set, darkness crept over the garden.

Dalrina stood up and prepared to leave. But the little dragon followed her, hopping lightly behind. She tried to hide… to ignore it… to run away. But it was no use.

"I can't take you into the palace…" she whispered sadly, "My nanny warned me not to get near any dragon."

She sat down in confusion, staring at the small creature that had already grown fond of her.

Then… an idea struck her."I'll hide you just for tonight, and tomorrow I'll tell Nazar. We'll find a solution together."

That night, Dalrina slept in her bed, the blue dragon beside her—whom she had named Elinor. But sleep didn't come… she was thinking, smiling, planning what to tell Nazar.

The next morning, she woke early and ran to the princess's wing.

"Come quickly! You have to see something!"

Without asking questions, Nazar followed her—and the moment she entered the room, she gasped:"Wow! Where did you get her? She's even more beautiful than my dragon!"

Dalrina laughed and told her the whole story.

Nazar responded with excitement:"Then tell my father! He'll definitely agree. Fayro and I both have dragons—he won't mind if you have one too."

Dalrina hesitated for a moment… but then gathered her courage and went to see the king.

With honesty and unwavering eyes, she told him everything.

The king smiled and said:"If she chose you, then she's yours, Dalrina."

But elsewhere in the palace, not everyone shared their joy.

The queen—Nazar's mother and the king's wife—entered after the two girls had left, and said sharply:"You gave her a dragon?! You do everything she asks, as if she were a princess! Have you forgotten she's a maid?"

The king replied calmly, but with a voice that left no room for debate:"If you do not see her as your daughter… I do."

And he fell silent.

In the garden, the three—Nazar, Fayro, and Dalrina—were playing with the new dragon. It fluttered above their heads, shining in the sunlight, releasing soft puffs of cool smoke.

Dalrina laughed and shouted with joy:"Her name is Elinor!"

And everyone laughed with her…While in the distance, the skies of Niron were growing colder.
