Chapter 83 - A new teacher

Fex was flabbergasted by the words that came out of Layla's mouth.

He watched as Layla raised her hands, covering her eyes—deliberately preventing him from using his influence.

He remained silent for a moment.

"Hm… so you figured it out, huh," he finally said. "Well, this is the first time someone has managed to uncover my secret. I'll give you that."

He paused, his expression darkening.

"But unfortunately, vampire rules strictly forbid me from doing what you're asking."

Unknowingly, a shiver ran through him as he thought about his father finding out--Not only that he had illegally gone to Earth, but that he had formed an illicit illegal as well.

He didn't want to be dragged before the Vampire Council and get the verdict of Execution.

Despite the pretty lady's intentions, the risk was far too great.

"You can look at me," Fex said with a sigh. "I'm not going to use that skill on you."

Layla hesitated.

"But before I finally leave… I'll have to wipe it. Rules are rules. For now, though, it doesn't matter much."

Fex exhaled slowly.

Somewhere else, inside a wide and luxurious room cluttered with technological junk, a green-haired boy worked as usual.

Suddenly, the door slammed open.

Vicky stepped inside.

Logan spun around in his chair instantly. Three mechanical arms burst from his back, snapping into position as heavy guns aimed directly at the intruder.

He shifted into a defensive stance.

Vicky, however, wore a nonchalant expression.

Logan recognized her face and relaxed slightly—though the weapons remained trained on her.

"No need to be afraid of me," Vicky said, winking. "I'm not that scary."

She didn't waste time.

"I need answers."

She stepped forward.

"Is that bratty brother of mine still alive and kicking?" she asked.

On Planet Lintarnia, it was a peaceful day like any other.

The long grass was lush and green. A clear blue river flowed gently beside the quiet Shelter.

After leaving the military base, Leo had gathered all his belongings and made his way here.

"I'm finally back," Leo muttered as he stepped through the portal.

The portal deposited him at the center of the Shelter. His belongings followed, landing neatly to the side. Leaving them where they were, he moved forward.

His thoughts drifted back to why he hadn't chased after the children.

The odds had been abysmal.

From what he knew, the selected eight had been sent away without any abilities, and without any parental backings. Their survival had been statistically unlikely.

After meditating and calming his thoughts, Leo knew acting irrationally would change nothing.

Without the military backing up, he couldn't go on to the pioletic planet.

Otherwise he would have to carry his own reconisance team. But Leo had spent almost all his savings on to this planet, and he was tight on funds for now. Because In his rage, when he had struck down Duke,he got his military license banned in the process, and his asset access was revoked, for 6 months.

The fact was undeniable that someone was trying too hard to put him in a tight spot.

In the end, he made a decision.

He would walk away from the corrupt system.

And he would finally do some real good—rather than serving something rotten at its core.

Regret weighed on him, deep as the ocean.

He had lost the only apprentice- Quinn, who he had ever taken.

Lost in thought, Leo arrived at his destination.

Before him stood a sizeable, traditionally styled dojo. Two massive red doors dominated the entrance, with a high wall enclosing the entire compound.

The structure was pristine—white stone, polished clean. There were no surrounding buildings, giving the place an abandoned, almost sacred air.

"They rebuilt it exactly to my specifications," Leo murmured. "Looks good."

As he pushed open the giant red doors, footsteps rushed toward him.

A man from inside the dojo hurried out the moment the doors opened.

For the past few years, Leo had personally funded the entire Shelter.

The beast crystals he obtained, the money from the previous war, and his earnings from teaching—all of it went into this place.

The Shelter was dear to him.

It was once home—to him, his master, and all the other students—before the Dalki attack.

When the Dalki came, they destroyed everything.

No one survived.

The government had abandoned the site. Rebuilding it would have cost more than constructing an entirely new Shelter elsewhere.

That was when Leo stepped in.

He rebuilt everything.

He invited the families of those who had died to live here free of charge.

Over time, the Shelter grew naturally. It became like any other—paying taxes, developing infrastructure.

But it still needed protection.

And since it wasn't owned by the government or the Big Four, Leo took on that responsibility himself.

Back at the academy, classes continued as usual.

With Leo gone, the entire beast-class teaching load had fallen on Faye—a situation that was proving unsustainable in the long run.

Of all the students affected, Dell's class suffered the most due to the fact they were the weakest group in the academy.

That was when rumors began to spread.

Whispers of a new teacher swept through the halls, igniting excitement like wildfire. Anticipation buzzed in the air.

As usual, Fex and Layla made their way to the Beast Weapons class. Drawn by the noise, they lingered near the back, observing the growing commotion.

Then—

The door slammed open.

Fex froze.

A strange scent filled the air—unfamiliar, yet deeply recognizable.

As the teacher strode forward, jaws dropped across the room. Boys and girls alike stood stunned.

Silver hair flowed with effortless grace as she moved. Her pale features only amplified her striking beauty.

When she stepped up to the podium, she surveyed the gathered students.

In an instant, an aura of dominance washed over the room.

The temperature seemed to drop.

Students shivered under its weight.

As her gaze swept across the class, it stopped on a blond, pale boy standing near the back.

It was indeed Fex.

The moment her eyes locked onto him, a shiver ran down his spine. His heart skipped a beat.

Under his breath, he muttered,

"What the f—?"

The woman finally spoke—her voice smooth, graceful, yet edged with steel.

"Good morning, class."

"I will be your new instructor for the Beast Weapons course."

"And I am Silver."
