Quinn had been presented with three choices.
All of them had benefits and downsides, and Quinn didn't know what to choose.
If he went with the first one, he would get an instant +8 stats in his Strength, Agility, and Stamina. But that choice didn't seem like much to offer. Still, the system recommended it, and he didn't understand why.
If he went with the second choice, it was about compatibility. With it, he would gain access to all the attributes he had gained from Truedream, including fire, lightning, poison, and hardening, which was currently on lock by the system's wierd rules..
But he still was puzzled on how exactly did Truedream managed to gain the fire & lightning aspect. Since, both of these were legacy abilities and no ordinary people had the authority to learn it.
That only meant truedream managed to kidnap the distant or lower levelled members of the families, and could have even managed to make a false report about there deaths as it was quite plausible to make such claims on adventurer missions.
But unfortunately for truedream after stealing those abilities, he met the wrong person.
Coming back to his reward paths, the compatibility option was a good deal compared to the previous option. But one statement worried Quinn — his attributes would max out. He didn't understand what that meant, and the system gave no further information.
The third option seemed even more mysterious than the others. Its title was [Unknown],
and it had no description of the reward. The mystery only increased his curiosity. It even seemed like the system itself didn't know what the reward was, as if it couldn't comprehend it.
"System, why are you playing tricks on me?" Quinn said, frustrated.
After waiting for a long time, Quinn finally came to a decision and chose the third reward, the one labeled [Unknown].
There were a few reasons behind his choice. First, the other two rewards could still be achieved by continuing to level up — he only needed another 8 System level up to get +8 in each stat. And his compatibility could also be gained later by following the systems main quest and reaching the required level, obtaining each attribute one by one.
The only reasonable choice seemed to be the Unknown, even though it was a gamble.
The moment he clicked the third option, something happened.
Evolution Beginning
"Evolution?" Quinn spoke a little surprised.
"wait a minute".
Suddenly pain encroached him, His body felt as if it was burning. He was quickly brought to his knees. The pain was unbearable. He needed to do something.
He sat down and started to meditate, similar to when he practiced gathering his Qi as taught by his teacher Leo. He tried focusing on the pain, imagining it wasn't there. The burning sensation slowly changed into a prickling feeling, as if every pore in his skin was being stabbed with a small needle.
Quinn cursed at the system. He wasn't ready for this. It hadn't even given him the option to start or stop. After ten minutes, the prickling sensation ended, but a new pain soon took over — his bones. They felt like they were being torn apart from the inside.
He could hear cracking noises coming from every part of his body. His bones were breaking down and rebuilding themselves. The process kept repeating. With each break, he thought it would get easier to bear, but the pain was just as bad.
He used all his willpower to stop himself from screaming into the heavens. If anyone heard or saw him now, they would know something was wrong.
Finally, the pain stopped. He had lost track of how much time had passed, too focused on the suffering.
He rubbed his eyes, thinking they were playing tricks on him. But after that painful evolution he felt the change in his body.
He no longer felt the weakness of his human body, it also seemed like his hands have turned to more stone like hardness, and his eyesight and his hearing has increased to ten fold.
when looking at his own body, He could now see that there were faint yellowish Golden lines around the edges of his body and a slight red tint around his Central part.
What is this?
He was even able to hear the sounds and noise outside the bunker which earlier seemed to be soundproof.
Then as he read the notification screen, his heart skipped a beat. he was clearly baffled.
It read
[Congratulations You have reached Level 10]
[your evolution has been a success]
Along with that line there was a description
[The blood that courses through your veins has not forgotten it's past.
It still remembers, yearning to be roused.
You have successfully awakened your hidden Lineage— the race of the dragons.]

The Race change came as a big shock to quinn.
It came out of the blue.
Can I even call myself a human anymore, and what does it mean "Draconic kin? ,What the heck!"
He needed to get to me air, but the system messages didn't stop.

Just then, a screen had appeared in front of Quinn and once again it was the handsome blonde man he had seen the last time, the man who had taught him the hammer strike and the flash step.
"Congrats!" The man said. "You have now officially joined the family. I thought maybe a simple human wouldn't be able to make it this far but it looks like my little experiment was a success. Now that the system has been upgraded to level 2, I had a good friend of mine install an AI system with my voice. It's amazing right! Now you'll never feel alone again and if you ever have a question about the system just ask."
"What!" Quinn thought, "Why wasn't the system like this from the beginning?"
"Now you're probably thinking why didn't I design it this way from the very beginning, the truth is you needed to be able to get this far on your own. From your own mistakes along the way, they can only make you stronger."
"Now before I leave you, although the AI system will help you answer any questions you have about the system, it is not able to go beyond that, so here are my final recorded words. I'm sorry but now that you are a vampire, others will come looking for you. They have already blended into society so it's almost impossible to tell who is one and who isn't. If you want to live a life of freedom as I did, then get stronger, create a force of your own and fight back. Good luck my friend."
With that, the recorded message had ended and the screen had disappeared. Quinn had many questions he wanted to ask the man but he knew it was impossible.
"What does this mean? If my race in a Draconic Kin then why does this man speak as if I am a vampire.
Wait! Does that mean, me being turned to a 'Draconic Kin' was not part of the script?"
Just then, the familiar blonde mans voice echoed in his mind.
"What the.....
