Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Rias – Would You Believe Me If I Said It Wasn’t Me?

"Devil! This is our turf! Since you're here, leave your life behind!"

Hearing that, Rias could only smile helplessly.

She had followed Asia in, and clearly the fallen angels had noticed her at that time.

She hadn't bothered to conceal her presence then, so it wasn't surprising they detected her.

In that case, it looked like she had no choice but to use force.

"This area is under House Gremory's jurisdiction. You fallen angels are plotting things on my turf. As the supervisor of Kuoh Town, I can't just ignore it!"

With that, Rias stepped out of hiding.

Asia's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't expected her beloved Rias-neesan to suddenly appear—and from what the fallen angel said, Rias was a devil…

"So it's the Princess of Destruction from House Gremory..."

The fallen angel slowly landed, folding her wings with a malicious grin aimed at Rias.

She put away her wings, but that didn't mean she didn't have hostile intentions.

If she could take Rias down, she'd surely gain a lot of credit…

Unfortunately, none of these subordinates had any idea what their higher-ups really wanted.

Azazel had long lost interest in war.

That great Three Faction War had completely burned away his will to fight. Now he just wanted to research artificial Sacred Gears and promote peace between the factions. Michael in Heaven and Sirzechs in the Underworld felt the same—nobody wanted more civil war.

Sensing the killing intent, Rias slowly raised her hand.

Her scarlet hair fluttered unnaturally as dazzling red light erupted around her, surging with power.

She was ready to fight…

"Ohohohohohoho————————"

The silver-haired priest—Freed—let out an exaggerated, maniacal laugh, clutching his forehead like he was going mad.

Okay... this guy was completely off-script.

"Devil! Filthy devil! Stinking devil! I can't wait to slice your body open! Or maybe I'll pierce your brain with a holy bullet and watch you squirm—————ugh!"

Before he finished ranting, he suddenly got blown away, crashing into the church wall with a thud.

Rias: "???"

Fallen angels: "???"

Asia: "???"

Even Asia couldn't help but stare at Rias.

Honestly, it was easy to misunderstand—Freed had been shouting insults at Rias when he got taken out.

Sensing everyone's gaze, Rias quickly raised her hands.

"That wasn't me!"

"Yeah right. Who else could it have been?"

"No, no, seriously… it had nothing to do with me."

"A daughter of House Gremory, too scared to admit what she did? But I guess I underestimated you. To pull that off without us even noticing… impressive."

Hearing that, Rias could only smile bitterly.

If she were that powerful, she'd have already flattened all of them. Why waste time talking?

But she didn't argue further. What was the point? They already had their assumptions.

"Fou…"

Looking at Freed's miserable state, Fou let out a cheerful squeak.

As a primate killer, it was easy to take down a human without anyone noticing.

It wasn't a violent creature—but that didn't mean it wouldn't act.

If it disliked someone, it had no issue making a move.

Ren had never restricted it either.

If it came across someone truly detestable, it could do whatever it wanted. As long as it cleaned up afterward.

"Well then, you've made your move—so we'll just kill you right here!"

The blonde twin-tailed fallen angel—Mittelt—spoke eagerly.

Next to her, the voluptuous older fallen angel—Kalawarner—glanced at the trembling Asia and said coldly,

"Throw that girl inside. She's the Sacred Gear user Raynare's been scheming to capture."

The rapist looking fallen angel—Dohnaseek—nodded and immediately moved to drag Asia inside.

At that moment, Rias had already furrowed her brows.

When she saw Dohnaseek about to take Asia away, a red flare of magical energy struck out and blocked his path. Dohnaseek instinctively stepped back as Rias quickly moved to shield Asia.

"A scheme? From what you're saying, Asia being here wasn't the church's decision?"

"Huh? I... wasn't sent here by the church?"

Hearing Rias's voice, Asia stepped back in confusion, shaking her head with a trembling voice.

"The church? Don't kid yourself! This was just Raynare-san's ploy to steal your Sacred Gear, 'Twilight Healing'!"

Mittelt spoke with a mocking tone, while Kalawarner frowned.

"Is it really okay to say that without Raynare's permission?"

"What's there to worry about? It's just the heiress of the Gremory family here. There are three of us—are you saying we can't handle one of her? And she even wants to protect that little nun? With a burden like that, she still thinks she can win?"

Mittelt clearly didn't take Rias seriously.

Rias was certainly strong. In a one-on-one, they'd probably have to flee. But with three Fallen Angels and Rias needing to protect Asia, the odds were on their side. If they couldn't win in this setup, they might as well go back to training.

"Heh heh… Once we get 'Twilight Healing', Raynare-san will surely gain Lord Azazel's favor. When that happens, our status will rise too..."

"Azazel! The Governor of the Fallen Angels?! Are you saying this was his idea?"

Even Rias was visibly shocked, already considering whether to retreat with Asia and inform her brother. If the Governor himself was involved, things had become very serious.

"Come on, don't joke! Azazel's got too much on his plate to bother with a little nun!"

Mittelt blurted it out without thinking.

Rias looked at her like she was an idiot.

If you hadn't said anything, I might've run already!

You don't even know how to bluff? Are you actually dumb?

She looked small, but apparently her brain was even smaller… What a foolish Fallen Angel...
