Chapter 17 - 17

This made Fury very uneasy.

For people who were out of his control, and a group of them at that, he always couldn't help but worry; who knew if they would cause a world-ending crisis the next second!

However, at the moment, Fury truly had no energy to care about the Inhumans' malicious schemes.

Because something had happened within S.H.I.E.L.D.!

Fury had only recently begun to faintly notice it.

But for now, he only suspected that other organizations had planted moles within S.H.I.E.L.D., and possibly more than one.

Furthermore;

Fury hadn't even connected it to HYDRA, an evil organization that was supposedly extinct.

He would never have imagined that the entirety of S.H.I.E.L.D., from top to bottom, had already been thoroughly infiltrated by HYDRA!

Only the newly formed Avengers had no HYDRA operatives planted within them.

Because of this, Fury also came up with an idea.

That was to arrange for a few trustworthy individuals to form an off-the-books team to investigate matters he found inconvenient to handle personally.

Regarding the candidates, Fury already had someone in mind!

....

Bang!

A black duffel bag was placed on the table by Luo Di.

He had brought this bag back earlier on a whim.

He didn't even know what was inside, only that the contents must be quite important, otherwise those two Inhumans wouldn't have been fighting over them.

"Let me see, what exactly are you hiding inside?"

Luo Di unzipped the duffel bag and looked at the items inside.

Inside the black duffel bag, there were many items of various sizes, but without exception, they were all metal objects.

There was a metal cube, broken metal fragments, and even an old-looking metal bracer.

This pile of items weighed approximately forty to fifty pounds.

No wonder it felt so heavy.

"Those two Inhumans only fought over this pile of stuff?"

Luo Di picked up one of the metal cubes.

This thing was very heavy.

This one piece alone weighed almost twenty pounds.

The crucial thing was that this cube was only about the size of an egg.

He didn't expect it to be so heavy!

"What kind of metal is this?"

Luo Di said he had never seen this kind of metal before.

There were no element symbols marked on it, and Luo Di didn't have any appraisal skills, so he naturally couldn't tell what kind of metal it was.

Putting down the cube, Luo Di took out and examined the other metals in the bag.

The other metals were not as heavy as the previous cube; most of them had a normal weight.

However, the ancient-looking metal bracer was much lighter than expected.

Its weight was roughly only about one-third that of steel of the same volume.

Luo Di played with it in his hand for a while, then placed it on the table.

At the very bottom of the duffel bag, Luo Di also found a few documents.

He picked them up and flipped through them.

Luo Di discovered that the documents contained research data about these metals.

Among them, the final cubic metal was called "Exxar" metal, and its characteristic was its weight!

And an extremely high melting point!

It required a high temperature of over 500,000 degrees to melt it.

However, its material hardness was only about three times stronger than ordinary steel.

"High-temperature resistant metal."

Luo Di glanced at the cube on the table.

Then there were the metal fragments.

That was a piece of Uru metal, which Luo Di guessed Thor had struck off the Destroyer with Mjolnir when he first came to Earth.

Uru metal itself is an extremely hard metal; its hardness is stronger than Vibranium, but it does not possess Vibranium's energy-absorbing properties.

However, Uru metal has extremely strong magic resistance, which Vibranium does not possess.

Therefore, theoretically speaking, only Uru metal can break Uru metal!

"Too bad, it's only such a small fragment."

Luo Di shook his head; he couldn't think of any way to melt Uru metal, surely he couldn't get a neutron star like the Dwarves, could he?

Subsequently, Luo Di cross-referenced the document to understand the names and special properties of the remaining metals.

Finally, Luo Di also found the information on the metal bracer.

"So it's Vibranium!"

"No wonder it's so light."

Luo Di looked at the records in the document, not expecting that the material used for this bracer was Vibranium, a special metal that flowed out of Wakanda.

"Wait!"

Luo Di suddenly thought of something.

So he picked up the Vibranium bracer on the table and tried it on; indeed, he could wear it on his arm.

"It's a little big, but it shouldn't be a big problem."

Luo Di thought to himself.

Then he used his disguise ability to try and change the Vibranium bracer on his arm!

The next second—

He saw the original Vibranium bracer suddenly begin to extend, first covering Luo Di's entire right arm, then covering his upper body...

About ten seconds!

Luo Di's entire body was already covered by Vibranium.

The original Vibranium bracer directly transformed into a full-body Vibranium armor!

And for the head, Luo Di deliberately changed it into a structure woven with Vibranium threads, to allow him to breathe.

Otherwise, if his whole head was covered, he wouldn't be able to breathe.

"It really works!"

Luo Di walked to a full-length mirror and looked at himself in the mirror.

His entire body was covered in silver-grey metal armor, every corner wrapped.

Making Luo Di look like a robot from the future!

"Although the disguise time was much longer than normal, the fact that it actually worked is still incredible!"

Luo Di had only had this idea before, thinking of giving it a try.

As a result, he didn't expect it to actually work!

This disguise ability is too overpowered, isn't it?

It can even transform Vibranium!

....

In the room.

Luo Di tried to change the shape of the Vibranium armor again.

One moment it turned into Iron Man armor, the next into the elaborate armor from games he remembered, and then into the Black Panther suit.

After playing around with transformations for a while, Luo Di finally turned the Vibranium into a bracelet and wore it on his wrist.

"I won't take it off from now on," Luo Di said with a smile.

With this versatile Vibranium suit, Luo Di's life-saving ability greatly increased.

Even if he encounters an unavoidable attack in the future, as long as he wears a layer of Vibranium suit underneath his clothes, he will be well protected.

"Normally, when there's nothing going on, I'll turn it into an inner armor. If I need to wear it externally, I'll change it into another form."

Luo Di thought.

With the unexpected surprise of the Vibranium suit, Luo Di's gaze towards the pile of metals on the table became much more eager.

Not to mention the other metals.

Just that piece of Uru metal fragment alone was extremely valuable!

What a pity!

It was a fragment, not like the Vibranium, which was a bracer.

A bracer could still be considered part of clothing.

But an unformed fragment couldn't be considered clothing no matter what!

Luo Di had also tried.

The disguise ability indeed couldn't change this piece of Uru metal fragment.

Either the disguise ability couldn't change Uru metal.

Or a fragment simply couldn't be treated as clothing.

But Luo Di believed it was most likely the latter.

After all;

If the disguise ability could even change Vibranium, why couldn't it change Uru metal?

His disguise ability wasn't magic, so even if Uru metal had strong magic resistance, it wasn't the right specialization!

....

Evening.

Luo Di was called out by his rich friends again to drink and go to bars.

It was as if drinking and going to bars were the only activities these rich second-generation heirs had all day long.

However, Luo Di still accepted the invitation.

Mainly because they said a few pretty girls had arrived.

Luo Di didn't believe it.

So he had to go and confirm it.

After playing out until almost 1 AM, Luo Di returned home, reeking of alcohol.

He came back alone, not bringing any girls with him.

Ever since there were things at home that were inconvenient to show others, Luo Di stopped bringing girls home.
