"Mom told us everything in hospital. Everything," Natalie said, winking.
Before Arya could get over the shock, she heard a low growl.
"Mate!"
Natalie, oblivious to what happened, kept chatting away.
"Arya, you with me?"
"Natalie, I heard someone."
"Who?"
Arya was now looking around but saw no one.
"Oh, hey," Natalie said.
"Nats, who are you talking to?" Arya asked, looking around. Her voice carried fear.
"Him," Natalie pointed, but Arya saw no one.
"Who's there?" Arya asked, her voice carrying authority. "And why can't I see you?"
"What are you saying? He's right there! See," Natalie pointed at an empty space.
"I don't see anything."
"I'm Valac Umbros, youngest son of King Valgoth Umbros, prince of the demon kingdom of Heavwar," the voice replied. "The reason you can not see me is because I'm in my Astral form."
"Wait, you really can't see him?" Natalie asked, turning to Arya. "So how can I see you?" She questioned, turning to stare in space.
"Because you're my mate," the voice said.
"Wait, Valac Umbros. I'm Arya Hunter Flowerew, luna of this pack. She is my sister. How do I know you're not lying?" Arya said. She also quickly mindlinked Alfa to get there.
She suddenly felt a cold rush of air brush against her face. All the while, she was looking at Natalie, whose eyes had come toward Arya and then going back to where she was staring at before.
"Alright, you have made your presence known. But no one is allowed on this pack territory without its Alpha's permission."
As if on queue, Alfa came to her, staring into thin air. "Who are you talking to?" He asked, confused.
"Alpha, there's a demon present on our territory!" Ronald said, running towards them. "Some guards mentioned seeing a black shadow come this way."
"That's impossible. The demon kingdom and the wolf packs have always maintained peace. They don't bother us. We don't bother them. That's the rule," Alfa said, surprised.
"And do demons have mates like us?" Arya asked Alfa.
"Well, I don't know much about them, but yes, they can have mates," Alfa replied.
"I mean from other species, like us?"
"Yes, they can, as long as their mate says yes!"
"Well, Mr Valac Umbros, I just got my answer. But I can't trust someone I can't see," Arya said.
Before Alfa could say anything, he heard, "I can physically come anytime you want me to. Alpha Flowerew, I request that you allow me to physically enter your territory!"
"Who are you? And where are you?" Alfa asked, shocked. Even more shocked was his beta, who was literally shaking.
"I..." "Alfa give him permission, and while he comes, I will explain everything," Arya said quickly.
Alfa looked at his mate like she had grown another head. She wanted him to give permission to a demon they couldn't see to enter his territory without even knowing his true intention. Was she crazy?
"Trust me," Arya said, gesturing towards Natalie. Alfa saw the look in her eyes as she kept staring at a particular position.
"Ok. I Alfa Flowerew, Alpha of Moonsglow pack, allow you..." he looked at Arya, who mindlinked him the demons name, and he continued, "Valac Umbros, to enter my pack."
No sooner had the words left his mouth that they saw someone appear out of thin air.
Soon, a man with tanned skin, white hair, and eyes as black as midnight stood in front of them.
Arya stiffened, Alfa also stared in disbelief, but Natalie just stood there, not moving. Something about this demon had captivated her.
Both Natalie and Valac stared at each other. Valac moved close to her, and without flinching, Natalie touched his face.
"Mate," Valac said.
"Mate?" Alfa asked.
"Mate!" Arya answered.
"Mate?" Ronald asked.
"Will everyone just stop. Yes, I guess Natalie found her mate. The bigger problem is explaining to Aunt Kim and Uncle Pete about this!" Arya whispered.
As if the universe just wanted to get them into trouble, they heard another voice, "Woh... what kind of wolf is he? And what's Nats doing?"
"Great! Marcus, meet Valac Umbros. Valac Umbros, meet Marcus Hunter, Natalie, and my brother," Arya said.
"Hey, what's going on?" Marcus asked, watching the closeness of his sister and an unknown person.
"Why don't we get inside and then talk. Valac is our guest. Marcus, could you call your parents into the sitting room. We need to talk," Arya said, and somewhere deep inside, Alfa felt proud of his mate taking control like this. Finally, she was behaving like the luna she is.
"O....k...." Marcus left, after throwing one final glance at his sister.
In the sitting area, Alfa, Arya, Marcus, Pete, Kimberly, and Alfa's parents sat on the sofa. Valac and Natalie were also there, sitting opposite each other.
"Son, what's going on?" Kane asked. Alfa had to invite his parents because they also needed to know what goes on in their pack.
"Everyone, this is Valac Umbros. He is a demon." Alfa began. Everyone gasped. "Arya, I think you should talk to them alone," saying so, Alfa gestured for his parents to follow him outside.
"Arya, what's going on?" Kimberly asked.
"Valac, can you please wait outside," Arya said, and Valac nodded, then walked out the door.
"Natalie?" Arya said, clearly suggesting her to say it.
"Mom, dad, Valac is ... my.... uh... my... "
"No! No! No! You're not doing this," Kimberly said, shaking her head.
"What's going on?" Both Pete and Marcus asked in unison.
"One daughter comes home with our worst enemy's son as her mate. Now another one comes home with a God damn demon? Is this some kind of sick joke?" Kimberly asked, ignoring the gasp that came with her statement.
"You think I wanted this?" Natalie asked, half screaming. "One moment, I was talking with Arya. The next thing you know is there was the most handsome being standing there in front of me. What was I supposed to do? "
"He's a demon! He could be hundreds, if not thousands of years older than you. For all you know, he could be using someone else's body right now! He has done some sort of hex on you, manipulated you, somehow brainwashed you! Natalie Hunter, I will not let you go with a demon. Do you understand that?!" Kimberly wasn't asking a question. She was making a statement.
"Aunt Kim..." " Oh, you stay out of this. Ever since you came into this pack, everything has been going downhill. I told you this place was cursed. I told you, yet you came. Now, your sister thinks that her mate is a demon. What next, Marcus walks in with a vampire?" Kimberly said sarcastically.
"Vampire? Vampires exist?" The excitement in Marcus's voice was full.
One look from Pete, and Marcus shut his mouth.
Arya felt hurt but knew Kimberly was concerned about Natalie, and didn't mean to say all those words.
"Mom..." "No! No means no!"
"Dad?"
"I'm with your mom on this one. Wolves are different, but a demon? That's insane."
"But..."
"With Alfa, at least he looks human enough for us to introduce him to family. But that Vannal, Valcan, Valmac..."
"Valac!" Marcus helped out.
"Valac guy, what would we say?"
With that, they went out, leaving behind Arya and Natalie.
