Arya felt excruciating pain radiate through her body, from the neck, down to her legs. In addition, she felt power like never before.
The crowd cheered, and Arya could see and smell everyone. Her mind opened to thoughts and feelings of everyone in the pack. Everyone's strength and fears were open in her mind.
Arya felt her teeth elongate, and before she knew what was happening, she dug her canines into Alfa's neck, making him throw his head back, more in pleasure than pain.
Darkness almost engulfed Arya, but Bella made sure to keep her awake. 'We are strong. We have to stay awake, Arya!'
She took in a long breath and looked up at Alfa, her mate, her companion, her husband.
"How are you feeling?" Alfa asked his mate.
"I feel like someone just opened all the emotions of the pack in my head, all at once," Arya replied.
Arya and Alfa sat on the chair that was put for them. Luna Genevieve stepped forward and walked up to Arya.
"Being marked by the alfa of this pack means that the position of luna rightfully belongs to you. So, do you, Aria Moonstone, accept the position of the pack luna and promise to maintain peace and order within the pack?" Luna Genevieve asked Arya.
Arya looked towards Alfa, and he smiled and nodded.
"Yes, I do."
"I, luna Genevieve Flowerew, in front of all who came to witness this event, pass down my position of pack luna and all the responsibilities to Aria Moonstone. Henceforth, she shall be called luna, and all pack problems that arise shall be dealt with by her."
The older lady held Arya's hand and closed her eyes. "Repeat after me, I, Aria Moonstone, swear by the moon Goddess..."
"I, Arya Moonstone, swear by the moon Goddess..." Arya repeated.
"... That I shall be a righteous luna who protects the Moonsglow pack and supports the alfa."
"... That I shall be a righteous luna who protects the Moonsglow pack and supports the alfa." Arya repeated.
"All bow to Luna Arya Moonstone Flowerew," someone called out.
Arya stared at the crowd as everyone bowed.
Servants began to distribute the treats, and all Arya wanted was a large slice of that cake.
Unlike the human world, where the cake was cut and ate by the couple first, here the guests ate before the couple.
'Luna Arya?' A mindlink came through.
'Who is it?' Arya asked, looking around.
'I swear I didn't do anything! I'm innocent. I didn't hurt Vivien!'
Arya looked around and spotted Garry standing in the crowd, looking at her. His eyes were full of worry and fear. It looked like he hadn't slept in days. He lowered his gaze when Arya looked at him.
'I don't know what to believe. But if you are innocent, you have nothing to fear.'
Garry's face lightened up.
"It's such a pleasure to meet you again, Luna," Lord Caspian said. "You remember me and my lovely mate, don't you?"
Lord Caspian was dressed in his best suit, a long black cloak that was red inside. Now, he truly looked like Count Dracula.
"Of course I do. How can I forget you," Arya said, smiling. "Lady Jazibell? I hope I'm correct!" Arya asked the beautiful woman standing beside the vampire, wearing a green lace dress.
"Yes, you're correct," she answered.
"You still look beautiful," Arya said, smiling.
"Thank you, Aria, but I'm afraid you're wrong. You look even more beautiful. This gown looks stunning," she complimented Arya.
"Thank you so much."
Alfa and Arya moved around greeting guests and exchanging pleasantries. Arya met so many alfas of other packs, and she learnt that these were the wolfs who's packs were destroyed by Alfa Kane, and when his son became the alfa, he helped rebuild those packs and appointed the alfas himself.
Most of the packs alfas were the next in line alfa, but where the alfa and his bloodline were killed off, Alfa chose the strongest wolf to become alfa.
Many of the wolves became rogues and ended up in Moonstone.
"So, Alfa, how do you feel?" Sinclair's voice sliced through the crowd.
"Ronald; what are you doing here?" Alfa asked.
"I couldn't miss this night. I had to come!" Ronald answered.
"Where's Gretchen?"
"She's still at the hospital. I'm heading out in a few minutes, then she'll come and visit."
"Luna Aria, welcome to the pack family," Ronald said to Arya, then turned to his Alfa, "Can't wait to tell your pups how you two met."
"Ronald...." "What? I had a major role to play," Sinclair cut in.
"And you almost proved to humans that werewolves exist!" Arya said, laughing.
"I had got a long lecture about that from someone," Ronald said, looking at Alfa.
They all laughed. 'Ronald, Aria, and I found a ring belonging to the crescent moon pack. Find out who is from there!' Alfa mindlinked him just because he didn't want anyone else to hear it.
Ronald nodded, then said, "Alfa, now I'll need your permission to leave. My mate wants to come over and meet her luna... and the cake was delicious. Where did you order it from?"
The cake. Arya had forgotten about it. She began looking around at the guests, trying to catch a glimpse of the servant who was serving the cake. His tray was empty.
Arya took in a long breath. Then she remembered Vivien again. She didn't even ask Ronald how she was doing. She turned to where he was standing and found out he was gone.
The night went on, people from the pack greeting their Luna, bowing down in front of her, and lunas of other packs talking about their packs and their responsibilities.
Arya was getting tired now. All she wanted was a cold shower and her comfortable pajamas and a bed.
"You hungry?" Alfa asked her.
"Huh? Um... yes... I think so," Arya replied.
All the VIP guests went to sit at the dining table, and Arya and Alfa sat at the head.
The servants immediately started to serve them dinner, starting from the alfa and luna of the pack.
As they began to eat, Arya received a strange mindlink, 'Luna, you're in danger!'
