Chapter 20 - Trap?

Zyban and his team got on the radio and informed all the security to be on high alert for Arya and Patricia.

Alfa had warned him that 24 hours is all he had, either find his luna, or die by his hands... no, his claws.

Sinclair mindlinked Marius, and told him about Alfa wanting to meet him. Then, he called the forbidden number...the number of the vampire lord, Caspian office.

"Hello?" A female voice said from the other end.

"Yes, I'm Ronald Sinclair, beta of Alfa Flowerew from the Moonsglow pack... my alfa would like to speak with lord Caspian. It's urgent," Sinclair said.

"And what is his business?" Came a man's voice.

Sinclair immediately knew it was the vampire lord himself. "My Alfa requests your presence urgently. It's a very critical matter that cannot be discussed on the phone."

"Is he there right now?"

"No, unfortunately there's a situation that requires his immediate attention. He asked me to request you on his behalf for your presence urgently," Sinclair said on the phone. There was something about vampires that he disliked, but he had to request in a pleading tone.

"Very well. Tell him I'll be there before dawn, but I won't be alone. I'm bringing my security, and of course my love." With that the line went dead.

Sinclair immediately mindlinked Alfa and gave him the good news, 'Alfa, I've called Marius and Caspian. Caspian will be here by dawn, with his security and mate'.

For two days, Arya and Patricia went out secretly to monitor the patrol guards. They noticed when the guards changed shifts, and the weak points on the border.

Arya also learned that her now friend, Patricia was a werewolf witch hybrid, which would explain how she could hear the alfa's conversations.

Arya was hiding in the shrubs near her grandfather's house, with Patricia by her side. She was right, Alfa had increased the security and five guards were walking around outside; two in the front, two at the back, and one walking around checking everything that moved.

"I think we should get Rebecca and her team out first, then come back here," Patricia advised her friend. She knew that with the amount of security here, there would be less guards in the cells. This would be a great time to get Rebecca and her team out, and take them to safety, then get Arya's team, and get them out of the border as soon as the coast is clear.

It was still dark, and there was a crescent moon out in the sky. Alfa Flowerew had tight security everywhere, and walking in the open was like walking on eggshells, one small crunch of the fallen branches, and they're doomed.

They slowly made their way to the cells, which was underground, and the huge door was guarded by two of the biggest man they had ever seen. They were so huge, they looked like giants, towering at almost 7 foot.

"We need a plan," Arya said.

"We will watch them," Patricia said.

They sat there for hours, then as if the universe answered their plea, both men stood and whispering amongst themselves, went towards the alfa's house.

"How are we going to open the door?" Arya asked.

Patricia just pointed to the keys jingling in one of the guards pocket. It was half out and any moment, would fall down. And it did fall, on the grass, so it didn't make too much noise.

"The moon Goddess is definitely on our side," Arya said looking up at the sky. She then walked to the keys and grabbed it.

Both girls opened the doors, and entered. Quickly, but quietly, they made their way to the cells.

The first few were empty, then some cells contained rogues who were caged up, yes, rogues in cages inside the prison cell; then, on the far right side, Arya heard a sob. A familiar voice, begging to be let out.

She ran to it, and sure enough Rebecca was there, crying. "Becca, Becca!" Arya whispered loudly.

"Arya?" Rebecca looked towards her, with tear filled eyes. "Oh my God Arya, get me out of here!"

They found the key to her cell and got her out. Rebecca hugged Arya tightly. "Thank you Arya," she said between sobs. "You won't believe it, the dire wolves are..." "We have to get out first. Where are the others?" Arya asked.

"They're all dead. The guards killed them one by one. I survived because of my eye colour."

"We have to get out before the guards get back," Patricia interrupted.

Before they could move, they heard sounds outside, footsteps running down the steps. Patricia used her smoke to get them out, and they reached the house Arya woke up in the other day.

"Arya, you won't believe it, they're all werewolves," Rebecca said. "We can't stay here. We have to get out!"

"Rebecca, calm down. I need to get my team out as well. You eat something and rest. We'll be back!" Arya said.

"You're not leaving me alone here, are you?" Fear showed clearly in her blue eyes.

"Becca, I cannot take you there. It's too risky. I promise we'll be back, and besides you are safe here," Arya reassured her friend.

"No no no Arya, please..." "I'm sorry," saying this, Patricia blew a powder at Rebecca's face, which made her fall asleep.

"We don't have time. The guards must have already informed alfa of her disappearance," she told Arya, as they put Rebecca on the bed.

They once again went to the house Arya's team stayed in.

"I'll distract them, you get the team out," Patricia said.

"Won't the guards know they're gone?" Arya asked.

"Don't worry, they won't know for a while. Leave everything as it is, just get them out!" Saying this, Patricia moved slowly to the back, pretending to 'wanting to break' into the house.

"Patricia?" One of the guards said out loud, and she dashed into the forest, with three of them following her. The two that remained were still looking in the direction everything happened.

Arya slowly went the the door, and using the key she still had, opened the door.

Getting into the dark house slowly, her only hope was that her friends don't scream. To her relief, it was quiet. Too quiet.

Were they so scared that they are this silent? Her only hope was that they are safe.

"Guy's?" She whispered. "Guy's, we have to get out! Where are you?"

She walked a few steps in, and the lights came on and Arya froze on the spot, holding her breath, her eyes wide open.

"Hello, mate!"
