Rue'an studied the way I ate. His eyes lingered on my lips then traveled across my body. Noting the lack of beastmen traits. He ate slow. "Me va relie mu con." ( You're not beastkin. ) He spoke with reverence.
"Iche meo cha ?" ( What are you? ) He murmured.
I looked at him. "What? I'm sorry, I don't understand.." I spoke softly
He blinked for a moment, because those were technically the first words he heard. At least not through the haze of sleep. "Ro....fuyu waso deo." (So....you do speak. ) He took another bite of his fruit, but it was clear. We couldn't understand one another.
It looked as though he was contemplating something. Then he stood. Walked back inside. When he came back he had a pair of earrings. He reached out giving me one. "Suk" (Take ) He said in a low voice.
I then saw him take the other and pierced his wolf ear with it. He pointed at it, then the one in my hand. "Shooak" ( Wear. )
I wasn't sure, but I followed his actions. Then I heard a low hum sound.
"Can you understand me now?" His voice was low and warm as velvety.
For a moment I processed, He was clearly speaking in that strange language still, but I could understand. I blinked. Then spoke.
"Uhm..yeah..how can I understand you now?" I asked with the tilt of my head.
His ears perked. "Perfect! I had these communication earrings just laying collecting dust, now there useful for something." His tail was wagging. He was clearly satisfied.
Then he cleared his throat. Tail settling. "My name is Rue'an. Three days ago I found you on the cliffs, struck with fever. I know I tried asking earlier, but do you have a name?" I gestured towards me.
I shook my head. "I'm sorry...I am unsure...I can't seem to remember"
He looked at me for a moment then, his tail moving softly in thought. " Hmmm amnesia, you did have quite the fever.." He rubbed his chin. "Then how about I give you one. A name."
I studied him for a moment. "You're giving me a name?" I asked.
He shrugged. "Luhva."
"Whoda?" I blinked
"Luhva. Your name. Let's call you that." He said without giving me a proper explanation.
I sighed. Rubbed the back of my neck. "I guess...but where did you even get that name? You kinda just...pulled it out of no where "
He smirked, sharp canines flashing. "I'll tell you later"
That had me confused. Like seriously? Who just gives someone a name, especially someone they just met, and doesn't even bother telling them what it means.
I sighed. "Alright..."
His tail wagged at the approval, even if it was reluctant. "Good."
