Chapter 16 - Episode 16: Chloe's Outburst and The Threats

Chloe's eyes locked onto Leo's, her gaze piercing and intense "Leo, I have one question for you," she said, her voice dripping with emotion.

Leo's eyes narrowed, sensing where this was going. "What is it, Chloe?" he asked warily. Chloe took a step forward, her eyes blazing with intensity. "It's simple," she said. "Choose between me and her."

The room fell silent, with all eyes on Chloe and Leo. Lily's heart was racing, and she felt a sense of unease wash over her.

Leo's face was a mask of calm, but his eyes betrayed his turmoil. He took a deep breath, and then his eyes locked onto Lily's.

With a confident smile, Leo dropped to one knee and pulled out a small box. "Lily, from the moment I met you, I knew you were the one for me," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "Will you marry me?"

The room erupted into cheers and applause as Lily's eyes welled up with tears. "Yes, yes, a million times yes!" she exclaimed, as Leo slid the ring onto her finger.

But Chloe's face fell, and she took a step back, her eyes wide with shock and hurt.

"You're really going to choose her over me?" Chloe spat, her voice venomous. Leo stood up, his eyes locked on Chloe's. "Chloe, I—"

But Chloe cut him off, her voice rising to a scream. "You're just like all the others, Leo! You use people and discard them like trash!" "Oh for goodness sake Chloe you are worst, you cheated on me and now you wanna twist everything. You even admitted it" Leo said filled with rage

The room fell silent, with all eyes on Chloe and Leo.

Antonio's face darkened with concern, and he stepped forward, his voice firm. "Chloe, that's enough."

But Chloe just laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You think you can silence me, Antonio? You think you can keep me from telling the truth?"

Marco stepped forward, his eyes blazing with anger. "Chloe, shut up!"

But Chloe just smiled, a defiant glint in her eye. "I'll never shut up, Marco. Not until everyone knows the truth about Leo and his precious Lily."

As Chloe's words hung in the air, the room fell silent, with all eyes on her. Lily's heart was racing, and she felt a sense of unease wash over her.

Chloe's smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with malice. "I know all about the artificial insemination, Leo and you are just using her," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

The room erupted into chaos, with everyone talking at once.

Leo chuckled "wait, wait, wait, you thought that after spilling it I'll be scared and beg you to forgive me and come back? Sorry to burst your bubble darling but nah.

I admit that at first i never loved Lily but as time went on, i came to realize that she's not only beautiful with brain but also a true lady with dignity and i am happy that i proposed to her. So Chloe Smith.....LEAVE!"

But before Chloe could react, Mr Antonio came with the guards "Escort Chloe out and never let her close to any of the Moretti's properties do i make myself clear". "yes sir" the guards roared with answers and escorted her out to prevent any trouble.

Leo turned to Lily, his eyes filled with concern. "Are you okay?" he asked, pulling her close. Lily nodded, still trying to process what had just happened. "I think so," she said, her voice shaking slightly.

Elder Moretti stepped forward, a warm smile on his face. "Let's not let Chloe's outburst ruin the celebration," he said. "We have a lot to be grateful for, and I'm proud of the man Leo has become."

The room erupted into applause, and Leo smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.

The partygoers began to disperse, whispering and glancing nervously at each other. The Moretti family members followed Leo out of the ballroom, their faces grim and determined.

As they made their way back to the Moretti family house, the tension was palpable. Elder Moretti's face was stern, his eyes blazing with anger.

"Leo, we need to discuss the situation with Chloe," he said, his voice firm.

Leo's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. "What about her?" he asked.

Antonio spoke up, his voice low. "We've received reports that she's been making threats against the family," he said.

Marco's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed intently on Leo. "We need to take care of her," he said.

Elder Moretti's face turned somber. "I agree," he said. "But we need to be careful. We don't know what she's capable of."

Leo's eyes met his grandfather's, and he nodded. "I'll take care of it," he said.

Just then, Antonio spoke up. "Leo, we think it would be best if you stayed in Beverly Hills for a while," he said.

Leo's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in surprise. "Why?" he asked.

Antonio's face was serious. "We don't know what Chloe's planning, and we don't want to take any risks," he said.

Elder Moretti's face turned stern. "Leo, we need you to stay here and protect our family's interests," he said.

Leo's eyes met his grandfather's, and he nodded slowly. "I can't, I can't just leave my organization like that" he said.

"you can bring your boys over at least the old military base is still intact so you" Elder Moretti said "I'll think about it" Leo said

But as the meeting came to a close, Leo couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. He had a feeling that Chloe was just the beginning of their problems.

As Leo entered the room, Lily looked up from her book, concern etched on her face. "Hey, what's wrong?" she asked, noticing the furrowed brow.

Leo sighed, rubbing his temples. "It's my family," he said, his voice low. "grandfather wants me to stay with them here at Beverly Hills, but I'm not sure."

Lily's eyes widened. "What? Why?" she asked, setting her book aside.

Leo explained the meeting, his face filled with worry. "I don't know what to do," he admitted.

Lily's expression turned thoughtful. "Maybe you should stay," she said, her voice soft. "at least you can still be in close contact with them"

Leo's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixed intently on Lily. "You'd want to stay here with me?" he asked, his voice low.

Lily nodded, her eyes sparkling. "Of course," she said. "I'm your fiancée, aren't I?"

Leo's face softened, and he smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over him.

Just then, a loud crash echoed from outside, followed by the sound of shattering glass. Leo's head snapped up, his eyes locking onto Lily's.

"What was that?" Lily asked, her voice trembling.

Leo's face turned grim. "I don't know," he said, "but I'm going to find out."

As he stood up, Lily grabbed his arm, her eyes wide with fear. "Leo, be careful," she whispered.

Leo's jaw clenched, his eyes blazing with determination. "Don't worry," he said. "I'll take care of it."

But as he walked out of the room, Lily couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

And then, she heard the sound of footsteps, heavy and deliberate, coming from outside the room. The doorknob turned, and the door creaked open.

Lily's heart was racing as she saw a figure looming in the doorway, its features obscured by the shadows.

"Who's there?" she demanded, trying to keep her voice steady.

But the figure didn't respond. Instead, it took a step forward, its eyes fixed intently on Lily.

And then, everything went black.
