"Click..." The unmistakable sound of heavy footsteps rang out. Chen Fan looked up. A woman wearing her "Purgatory Armor" and holding a large, bladeless sword walked toward him. It was the S-class wizard of Fairy Tail, the Fairy Queen, Erza Scarlet.
Chen Fan's face was grim. He didn't like fighting with female wizards. He felt constrained, so he always resorted to intimidation and trickery. But his tricks were useless against Erza. Erza stood in front of him with a serious expression.
"Erza, can you wait a moment? You don't want to fight me, someone you've fought so many times," Chen Fan said, pleadingly.
"It's no use talking anymore! Chen Fan, you've gone too far..."
"Stop, stop, stop! The more I listen, the more things I hear that aren't true. I'm not that evil, am I? This is all the President's fault. He's the one who changed the rules! If you want to find trouble, go find him!"
"I will find the President myself," Erza said. "In short, I'm fighting with the hopes of everyone on my shoulders." Erza attacked.
Chen Fan shook his head, forced to accept the challenge. 'These people are unreasonable. They're the ones coming at me, but they're acting like they're in the right.'
Makarov shuddered as he watched from the magic crystal. Mira covered her mouth, laughing. "President, Erza said she's going to look for trouble with you!"
"Don't try to scare me, do you think I'm scared?" Makarov said firmly.
"No, you're the guild master and one of the 'Ten Greats' (Ten Sacred Wizards)," Mira smiled.
Makarov ran to Mira. "Mira, don't be like that. Erza is going to bully me, you have to protect me!"
"Alright, but why did you let Chen Fan fight everyone?" Mira asked.
Makarov sat down. "Chen Fan's mutation is too fast, and the kids haven't adapted. Fairy Tail isn't a guild for one person. Chen Fan has the talent to be a leader. I also heard Erza mention Chen Fan's magic. No, that's not magic, it's an ability. He can manipulate every vector he touches. It's terrifying when you think about it."
"Yes! I heard Chen Fan once destroyed a city just by stomping his foot," Mira stopped talking.
"With an extraordinary person like Chen Fan, it's natural for the Council to interfere. They won't be at peace if they can't control that power," Makarov's face became serious.
"But won't this convincing display of power help the guild members believe in you more?"
"True. I'm afraid other guilds are eyeing Fairy Tail. Chen Fan is only one person. It's good if there's someone who can help him!" Makarov glanced at Mira. Mira pretended not to see. Her feelings for Chen Fan were still muddled, and he seemed the same way. Although Chen Fan often talked nonsense, only a few were genuinely sincere to him.
Just then, Chen Fan and Erza began to fight. The "Purgatory Armor" didn't have much of an effect on Chen Fan. He stood still, deflecting all of her attacks. Of course, he didn't use much energy, simply deflecting them as they came.
Seeing that her attack was ineffective, Erza said, "Requip! Heaven's Wheel Armor!" Erza leaped into the air.
"Heaven's Wheel, Sword of Misery!" An innumerable amount of swords floated behind her, fanning out like wings. "Swish...!" All the swords shot toward Chen Fan.
"Boom!"
A thick cloud of dust billowed into the air.
"Did it work?" Everyone looked at the crystal screen. Erza was on high alert.
"No! No! Chen Fan isn't defeated!"
When the dust cleared, Chen Fan stood perfectly unharmed in the center of the sword formation.
"As I expected, you wouldn't be defeated that easily," Erza said.
"Why would you say that, Erza? You know my abilities. Even if you waste a lot of energy, you're no match for me. An attack like this is meaningless," Chen Fan said calmly. He picked up a sword from the ground and waved it.
The sword shattered, becoming magic elements, and disappearing into the air.
"Yes, I know I'm no match for you, but there's no harm in trying. Actually, no one intended to defeat you," Erza said.
Chen Fan was curious. "Then why did you all come at me one by one? That doesn't make sense!"
"Haha, you finally realized! This is a road marathon. Of course, I have to finish the race!"
"You're also here to buy time?"
"Yes!" Erza smiled triumphantly.
"But who else is left? I remember I defeated everyone," Chen Fan recalled.
A battered Natsu said, "And Happy!"
