Chapter 183 - HP: What, You've-Chapter 183: I'll Know Him Better Than You

"Ron!"

"Next time, knock Malfoy out cold!"

"Don't just panic and run!"

Watching Hermione's clenched fists, Ron's scalp prickled. He nodded frantically.

"Yes, ma'am!"

Hermione slowly turned to Harry. Her smile looked gentle but felt terrifying.

"Harry."

"That's a wand in your hand, not a licorice wand..."

"Need a demonstration?"

Hermione's plan was simple: these two would disguise as Crabbe and Goyle, infiltrate Slytherin, interrogate Malfoy.

Should've been obvious Gryffindor protocol. She hadn't over-explained.

Never expected these idiots would suddenly turn into Hufflepuff good boys.

"No demonstration needed, ma'am..."

Watching the know-it-all morph into a Shelby-Snape hybrid, Harry backed up.

Pale fingers pulled his sleeves to cover his backside.

As a Surrey resident, the Savior knew Shelby methods. Didn't want Hermione demonstrating anything.

This wasn't something a girl should do...

No—not something anyone should do.

(TT)(◎_◎;)

"God, that panther—I must've lost my mind getting scared..."

A memory hit. Hermione slapped her forehead, annoyed.

That panther beside Tiger had stared at her from the moment she entered. Even blocked her path. Threatened her.

Those green eyes held emotions no animal should have.

Like she'd been seen through.

Guilt welled up.

Prepared words stuck in her throat. Couldn't come out smoothly.

After quick review, Hermione blamed mental weakness. First time doing something bad, after all.

Maybe... right?

Still wouldn't give up.

Another Polyjuice vial hidden in her robes was gripped tight.

The big cat wouldn't let this go either.

Bathroom conversation leaked through the door into the corridor. Barely audible.

Lingering scent acted like a guide, leading the big cat to the second floor. She approached the bathroom door silently.

Hearing familiar voices, her fluffy ears twitched. Green eyes flashed with amusement.

[Knew it.]

Black tail swished with displeasure, drawing an elegant arc before vanishing...

Slytherin common room.

Tiger declined Draco's lunch invite. Lounged on the sofa reading Flitwick's old papers.

With Tequila cooking for him, he'd lost interest in Great Hall Christmas sweets.

Glass swayed in his hand.

Ice cubes clinked against glass. Pleasant sound like a tune.

No alcohol, though.

Just ice water.

Never underestimate a mother's intuition. His family didn't eat licorice wands.

The wall shifted. Big cat stepped out. Spine undulating with innate grace.

"Hey, where'd you go?"

Tiger looked up. Anticipation in his expression. Lately he'd grown dependent on this cat—especially for naps.

Fierce eyes reflected through glass and ice. Faint oppressive scrutiny.

Big cat's heart trembled.

[Damn Merlin.]

[This hateful man is so captivating~]

Besides rising mist in her eyes, the cat showed nothing. Just yawned. Smooth tongue pink and tempting.

Feline purring carried lazy pride. Softened hearts.

She walked toward the boys' dorm with elegant steps. Tail hooked toward Tiger. Inviting him to share dreams.

Gunpowder stared, stunned.

She was too good.

No one understood cats better than cats.

Damn bitch!

Grabbed by scruff, Gunpowder yowled. Claws flailing.

Hadn't finished the dried meat!

"Right, perfect weather."

"Perfect sleeping weather."

Tiger's lips curved. Drained his water. Carried Gunpowder to the dorm.

Big cat rarely invited.

He wouldn't refuse. Who could resist sleeping while holding a big cat?

Crackling wood. Temperature grew comfortable.

Gunpowder crouched by the fireplace, glaring at the bed.

Tiger stroked soft fur. Eyes closed with satisfaction. Long tail wrapped his arm tight. Immense contentment.

In her co-sleeping history, she rarely let him hold her like this...

Soon, quiet snoring.

Time passed.

The cat suddenly opened jade eyes.

Cold, alert gaze swept the pillow. Settled on a fallen strand of Tiger's hair. Scene in her mind changed color.

[Should've done this sooner~]

Mist spread through her eyes. Pink light barely visible in her pupils.

"Meow!"

Gunpowder jumped on the bed. Dissatisfied whimpers. Squeezed into Tiger's neck. Blocked the cat's breath.

[Fine. This once, poor thing. Won't get another chance.]

Big cat snapped awake.

Amusement in her eyes. Tail loosened from Tiger's arm. Slid across the pillow. Hair strands vanished.

She slid from his embrace. Jumped off lightly. Walked out silently.

Thanks to feline flexibility, sleeping Tiger noticed nothing...

Back in the prefect's dorm, she transformed the instant the door closed.

Hair cascaded.

Looking at hair strands in her hand, red lips curved. Barely audible murmur.

"You see, foolish know-it-all. You don't understand me. But I'll understand him better—his soul, or..."

Before finishing, rosewood wand swung. Tip pointed at the potion cabinet.

Invisible force pulled. Doors flew open. Countless potions inside.

Crystal Polyjuice vial flew out. Landed before Gemma.

"His body..."

Black hair fell into the vial. Smoke rose. Faint blush on pale cheeks.
