Chapter 1 - Just a Normal Day.

A boy walked down a cobblestone road in a run-down area of his town. He wore a fatigued white shirt and shorts tied with a string. Carrying a sack full of items. White hair adorned his head with a strand of black sticking out. Blue eyes scanning his surroundings. Worn shoes hanging together by a single lace. He continued down his path, seeing the dilapidated buildings. His destination was a two-story building at the end of the road.

An Orphanage left to fend for itself. Looking around to make sure he wasn't followed, he arrived at the door. After entering a special code, he waited for a few moments. He could hear little feet running to the door. The door swung open with two kids on the other side—a younger boy and girl.

"Aeon!"

"Did you get the food?!"

Aeon smiled and just swung the bag from around his shoulder. The contents jumping around in the sack.

"Of course. Did you think someone as strong as me would fail a simple food gathering quest?"

"No Way. Never!"

"Lily, could you set the table? And Rodrick, could you help her?"

The two kids nodded rapidly and ran off to complete their task. Aeon walked into the building and set the sack on the ground. He looked around and noticed the place was slowly being cleaned and repaired. 'At least the woodworker knows what he is doing. The last guy just wanted to sell us into slavery. I guess he saw three kids and thought easy money to be made.'

Lily and Rodrick came back into the main room and set the plates, cups, and silverware on the big table in the center of the room. Picking the sack back up, Aeon walked and put the sack on the table. He opened the sack and started pulling items from within. Apples and bananas. A loaf of bread. Two jars, one purple and one brown. Bottles with juice inside them.

"I'm going to put some of this away and then join you two for lunch."

They both nodded, and Lily started cutting into the loaf of bread. Aeon walked into the kitchen and put the fruits on the counter. He put some of the bottles in the fridge. After putting everything away, he returned to the main room to eat.

"Aeon, can I pour the drinks this time?"

Aeon gave a wary smile. " Did you learn not to spill anything like last time?"

Rodrick's eyes went wide with worry. "How do you always see us mess up when you're not around?"

Aeon's smile turned impish. "These eyes aren't just for show."

Lily set two pieces of bread on each of their plates. She grabbed the jars and handed one to Aeon. He opened the jar and smeared some purple jelly on their pieces of bread.

"Make sure the peanut butter spreads evenly Rod, or you won't taste the grape jelly."

Rodrick nodded and started spreading the peanut butter on the bread. Lily grabbed the bottle of juice and started pouring the liquid into the cups.

"Did the villagers give you guys a hard time while I was gone for the morning?"

"Only the funny looks we get when we ask the other kids to play with us."

"And how was Mrs. Marron's class?"

Rodrick's face went sour with anguish. "Why do we have to go to that class anyway? I'm gonna be a Magic Knight when I grow up!"

Aeon just laughed and smiled. "Even Magic Knights need to read and write. And you haven't learned to produce a single flame yet."

"Mrs. Marron asked if you were ready to go to the tower to get your grimoire?" Lily asked with interest.

Aeon got a faraway look in his eyes and just nodded. 'I still can't believe I'm in the Black Clover world. After surviving on the streets, I thought this was just a medieval world. But with people performing magic with grimoires hanging on their belts, I knew something was different.'

Aeon saw his first Magic Knight when he was 8. He had heard about them. The one he saw belonged to the Blue Rose Squad. She was patrolling his town because they were a frequent spot for bandits to hit.

Blonde hair and a beautiful appearance. He recognized her from the anime. Charlotte

'But not everything about me belongs to this world.' Aeon used one of his fingers to push the grape jelly jar towards the center of the table. If someone looked closely, they'd notice his finger wasn't touching the jar.

'Limitless and Six Eyes are kinda op in this world. I haven't seen any Cursed Spirits or monsters. Will I even get a Grimoire? Not like I need one. Aeon just shook his head and started eating his sandwich.

"The journey is next week, right?"

Lily nodded.

"Sol said she was ready to get hers."

Sol Marron, another character, he recognized. A brown-skinned girl with green eyes. She was the daughter of the local teacher. Aeon never really talked to her. He just saw her in town whenever he had to get another job from the Town Square Board.

Aeon was strong for his age. Able to complete quests that his elders couldn't handle. Aeon's Cursed Techniques, Red and Blue, took care of most bandits or rogue mages. Even if something ever did bypass his barrier, he had the Reversed Cursed Technique to heal himself. He still hadn't reached Gojo's level. The barrier around him had to be mentally triggered on and off.

"I'm gonna head back into town and get another job off the board. Make sure you guys clean up and take care of each other while I'm gone."

After finishing eating, Aeon went back out into town. Leaving the run-down area, Aeon started seeing a better-looking building. He passed by merchant stands trying to sell their wares. Some gave him a wary glance, but he ignored them.

Nearing the Town Board in the center of the town, Aeon heard someone call his name. "Aeon!"

He turned around to see an older gentleman walking towards him. Aeon smiled.

"Henry, how are you?"

The older gentleman was the priest in charge of the local church. He always looked after the stray kids. Giving food and money when he had anything available. Aeon always saw him as a fatherly figure.

"Are you looking for work? I told you to take a break to let your body rest."

"Come on, Henry, you know I have people to take care of."

"Yes, how are young Rodrick and Lily?"

Aeon smiled and shook his head. "You know how Rod is, always going on about being a Magic Knight. And Lily is still a timid girl."

"And are you ready for the journey to the next town for your Grimoire? Sol was saying how she couldn't wait." Henry was the one who was going to accompany the group of teenagers to the Grimoire Tower. It would take a whole day to journey to the next town and back. The Ceremony was supposed to be special, but Aeon didn't care. He already had his powers to take care of himself and his special people.

"Yeah, ready to get it over with." Henry's smile turned into a frown. He knew Aeon was already strong enough to take care of himself. Henry just wished Aeon wouldn't show any disrespect at the Ceremony. Aeon comes off as an arrogant kid if you didn't know him well.

"Well, be ready to walk to the next town in the coming week."

" Sure thing, Old man."

Henry gave a nod and walked off to finish the rest of his priestly duties. Aeon turned back to the Town Board and grabbed a random request.

Looking over the request, Aeon noticed that Mrs. Marron was the client. She was looking for someone to help get some paper to her classroom from the nearest town.

Aeon folded the request paper and put it in his pocket. He quickly left the town center and walked to the edge of the town. He looked around to make sure no one saw him. Then he teleported away.
