Chapter 18 - # The Thunder Knows My Name (R5 pt2)

Karma flinched. The pain was unbearable, but he tried to be still and escape death for the sake of saving his true friend.

Rudrank

Karma's suit started melting, and the birds stopped chirping.

Karma begged for instant death.

The sky roared with lightning.

Then, did Karma die? Did Rudrank die? Did both die?

It rained heavily at the same moment when Rudrank was going to touch Karma's hand.

Rudrank started levitating. Karma smiled at the fact that he almost died just to save Rudrank, and he is lying, mid-air, without knowing a single thing about what just happened.

They both survived.

Just as Karma was cleaning his Katana blade

Rudrank: Phew- "That was a close call

Wait a minute, I AM IN THE AIR!"

Karma laughed at the carelessness of the Young man.

Rudrank: "You see this Karma? It feels like I'm swimming deep in my own thoughts, which heavily surround me all the time."

"But this time…"

"I feel free"

"I feel like breaking away from this cold void that my thoughts created, and just take wherever the wind takes me"

A slight change of heart could be seen in both Karma and Rudrank as the emotions of both happiness and fear struck their eyes at the same time.

BUT SUDDENLY…

The rain stopped

Rudrank, rapidly rushing down from the air, didn't even get a single moment to think of what had just happened.

Karma stood there… Still… Frozen

BLAKE!

Rudrank shouted as Blake (Karma's dog) rushed towards Rudrank, successfully catching him before he let Rudrank fall on the floor intentionally as he licked Karma's palms in awe.

"BLAKE IS A SAVIOUR!" Rudrank exclaimed cheerfully as he looked towards Karma

But… something was certainly off.

Karma stood there in disbelief; even Blake himself seemed confused to see his owner standing mysteriously like this, unsure.

He said, "Rudrank, something happened when you fainted."

Rudrank, confused, added, "What? I started levitating. Ohh— come on, Karma. It's just my ability to fly during thunderstorms-"

"The trees didn't burn…"

"HUHHH! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND AGAIN, KARMA? WHICH TREES?"

"The trees that stand tall behind you…

They didn't burn."

"And they shouldn't have burnt at all.."

Rudrank: "So you mean I cannot burn trees at all?"

Karma: "Exactly, when you fell, the energy was more than enough to burn this field, where we are currently standing. To ashes. I could've lost a life. While saving one at least."

Rudrank: "What are you even talking about, karma? So none of this is real? The boy I accidentally almost killed on the day of my awakening ceremony was not my mistake? at all??"

Karma:" Exactly, your power level is too low to do this… in fact, only a flame bearer can produce flames that ultimately tear through rain."

Rudrank:" The boy burnt himself?"

Karma, " I doubt it's the opposite. It's the boy. Definitely the boy."

"He is a fire pathway bearer"
