Chapter 41 - Sleepy Steps and Soft Heals

Weeks have passed Celestars became used to their schedules, life was peaceful in the academy.

Yuuv drifted through Elyndor Academy's sprawling corridors, the morning sun filtering through the floating spires, painting the stone floors with flickers of blue and gold. His cyan-blue eyes were half-lidded, as always, the world a hazy swirl of rune-lights and bustling students. The 9 AM classes—mana flow theory and basic charms—had just ended, and his brothers had scattered to their electives. Lui was off to sword drills, Izumi to spatial tactics, Ishi to the duel arena, Iuro to the greenhouse, and Rick to spellmaking, probably chasing Selene's smirk. Yuuv, though, had chosen meditation class for his afternoon elective, drawn to its promise of quiet. "Stars… like quiet," he mumbled, his tiny silver bell wand swinging lazily, chiming a soft Ding~.

The meditation hall was somewhere in the eastern wing, but Yuuv's sense of direction was as sleepy as his gait. He'd wandered past the alchemy labs, pausing to sniff a whiff of starvine from an open window, then turned left when he should've gone right. A group of beastfolk girls giggled as he passed, his blonde hair catching the light like a halo, his adorable, half-asleep charm impossible to ignore. "Is that the Celestar's sleepy kid?" one whispered. Yuuv didn't notice, too busy following a stray mana-orb that floated by like a lost firefly.

By the time he found the meditation chamber—a serene dome with cushioned mats arranged in neat rows, glowing incense orbs hovering like tiny moons—he was ten minutes late. The door creaked open, and every head turned. The room was packed, students sitting cross-legged, their eyes snapping to Yuuv. His arena dodge from Master Korath's event had spread like wildfire: the way he'd sidestepped Darius's thorny vine with a yawn, smiling like it was nothing. Whispers followed—especially from girls, who nudged each other, drawn to his quiet personality and the Celestars' growing fame.

Professor Lyssia, a warm-hearted human with a flowing robe and a rosewood wand that pulsed with calming light, paused her lecture on "inner mana alignment." Her gray hair was tied in a loose bun, and her eyes twinkled like she'd seen a favorite grandchild. "Oh, sweetie," she said, her voice soft as a lullaby, "got lost again, didn't you? Come, find a mat."

Yuuv blinked, offering a sleepy smile that made a few students sigh. "Sorry… wrong turn," he murmured, shuffling to an empty mat near the back. His small frame sank down, bell wand resting on his knee, chiming faintly. Ding~. The stares lingered—some curious, some admiring, a few tinged with envy. Being a Celestar, with his dreamy aura, made him stand out, even when he was half-asleep.

On the first bench sat the centre of attention- Chloe Silvamillion, her blonde hair glowing under the orb-light, amber eyes focused on a notebook. Her healing wand lay beside her, its petal-like patterns catching the glow. Her three besties—Lira, an elf with flower-woven braids; TESS, a cat-hybrid with potion vials; and Vyn, a human with a sketchpad—chatted softly, calling her "Coco" with easy warmth. Most of the class, especially the guys, were here for her, drawn by her effortless charm. Coco wasn't shy in general, just reserved about her likings, but her presence filled the room like sunlight, pulling eyes without trying.

Darius, the grumpy noble in his over-the-top velvet cape, sat a few mats away, his emerald wand tapping impatiently. His scowl deepened as Yuuv settled in, the memory of his failed vine attack in the arena burning like a bad bruise. The girls' whispers about Yuuv didn't help—Darius's ego was already fragile, and Chloe's lack of interest in him only made it worse.

Professor Lyssia resumed, guiding the class to close their eyes and feel their mana's rhythm. "Breathe with the orbs," she said, their glow pulsing like a heartbeat. Yuuv sank into it, his Psych Magic humming softly, a gentle wave that calmed the air around him. A few students relaxed deeper, caught in his aura, while Chloe glanced back, her amber eyes catching his for a moment, intrigued by his serene vibe.

Mid-session, Lyssia stepped out briefly, called to handle a delivery of calming herbs. The room stayed quiet—mostly. Darius seized the chance, standing and sauntering toward Coco's bench, his wand gleaming. "Miss Chloe, you saw my vine lash yesterday, right? Master Korath said it had potential," he bragged, flashing a smile he thought was charming.

Chloe glanced up, polite but uninterested, her focus on Lira's whispered joke about a potion mishap. "That's nice, Darius," she said, turning back to her friends.

Darius's face reddened, his cape swishing as he puffed up. "Fine, watch this new spell—it's way cooler." He spun, wand sparking green, and flicked it toward the back, where Yuuv sat, eyes half-closed. A thorny vine tendril shot out, fast and sharp, aimed to snag Yuuv's leg and embarrass him in front of everyone.

Yuuv's eyes flickered, sensing the mana shift. With a sleepy sway, he hopped backward onto the bench behind, landing lightly, the vine whipping empty air. The class gasped, heads turning, girls whispering excitedly. "He did it again!" one squeaked. Yuuv blinked, smiling gently. "That was...," he said, voice soft as a breeze. "cool!."

Darius froze, cheeks flaming. "That… was a mistake!" he stammered, clutching his wand. "I didn't mean to aim at you, kid."

Yuuv tilted his head, unfazed. "It's okay," he said kindly, settling back on his mat. Ding~. The bell's chime seemed to laugh, and the room buzzed with muffled giggles and awed murmurs. Chloe's eyes widened slightly, her lips curving in a curious smile.

Lyssia returned, sensing the tension. "All calm, students?" she asked, her wand glowing to soothe the room. Darius slunk back to his mat, muttering, as the class resumed. Yuuv drifted back into meditation, his Psych Magic rippling like a quiet pond, earning a nod from Lyssia. "Well done, sweetie," she whispered, passing by.

As class ended, students stretched and gathered their things. Yuuv stood, rubbing his eyes, ready to find his brothers. A small cut on his hand—from brushing a sharp mat edge during his dodge—stung faintly, but he ignored it, humming to himself.

Chloe approached, her wand in hand, her besties trailing a step behind, whispering excitedly. "Yuuv, right?" she said, her voice warm and inviting, carrying that natural charm that made everyone feel at ease. "You okay? That vine looked nasty."

Yuuv blinked, nodding sleepily. "I'm fine. Just a scratch." He held up his hand, the tiny cut barely visible.

Chloe frowned, her amber eyes softening with concern. "Let me fix that." She waved her wand, a gentle green light pulsing from its petal-like tip. A soft warmth wrapped Yuuv's hand, the cut vanishing in a minute. "There," she said, her smile bright but reserved, careful not to show too much of her liking for this odd, kind boy. "Can't have a classmate getting hurt."

"Thanks, miss," Yuuv said, his sleepy smile widening. Ding~. "Your magic's… shiny."

Chloe laughed, a bright sound that turned heads. "Shiny, huh? I'll take it." Her friends nudged her, Lira whispering, "Coco's got a new fave!" Chloe waved them off, but her eyes lingered on Yuuv, intrigued by his calm.

As they headed out, Darius lingered by the door, his scowl back. He stepped into Yuuv's path, puffing out his chest. "Watch where you're going, sleepy," he sneered, wand sparking. "Not everyone's charmed by your little tricks."

Yuuv looked up, eyes half-lidded, his kind expression unshaken. "You're loud," he said simply, stepping around Darius like he was a misplaced chair. "Hope you feel better." Ding~. The bell chimed, and a few students nearby chuckled, Darius's face turning beet-red.

Chloe, walking nearby, overheard and shook her head. "He's always like that," she said to Yuuv, her tone light but firm. "Don't mind him. You're kinda cool, you know."

Yuuv yawned, smiling. "Stars think you're cool too." He shuffled off toward the dorm, where his brothers waited, the crowd's buzz growing louder. Coco watched him go, her friends teasing her softly, but her smile stayed, a spark of interest kindling.

The arena glowed under the night sky, Master Korath's duels ramping up, and Yuuv's quiet fame grew, his sleepy charm weaving its own kind of magic.
