Chapter 89 - Chapter 89: Get Rid of Everyone Who Gets in the Way

The Chapter get Retranslated

Andrew Waltfeld's sudden burst of laughter left Kira Yamato feeling bewildered, while Mikazuki Augus maintained his usual indifferent expression.

"Living your life with your feet on the ground... yes, you're absolutely right. But... human desires aren't always as simple as yours, young man."

"Oh."

Mikazuki's perfunctory response instantly killed the mysterious atmosphere Andrew was trying to build, plunging the room into a strangely awkward silence. Andrew's lip twitched, and he gave a bitter smile.

"You... you really are unlikable. However..."

Tap, tap.

A knock sounded from outside.

"Andy."

Hearing Aisha's voice, Andrew perked up. He stood and called out, "Oh, is it over? Come in."

With those words, Aisha pushed the door open. Cagalli Yula Athha, now wearing a skirt, followed bashfully behind her. Seeing her hesitation, Aisha moved behind Cagalli and gave her a gentle nudge forward.

"Go on, get in there."

Kira was stunned when he saw Cagalli in a dress. "It's... a girl..."

The already embarrassed Cagalli immediately flared up. "You jerk!"

Kira realized his blunder instantly. "No, no, no! I just meant to say, so it was you..."

Cagalli grew even angrier. "Is there any difference between that and what you just said?"

Andrew and Aisha, standing by the door, laughed in unison. Mikazuki sat on the sofa with dead fish eyes, munching on the snacks on the table. They tasted alright.

Both Kira and Cagalli lowered their heads, their faces flushed with red.

After laughing for a while, Andrew wiped the smile from his face and spoke to Aisha. "Alright, Aisha, you head out first. I want to have a chat with these three little guys."

"Okay."

Aisha waved to Mikazuki on the sofa and closed the living room door.

Kira and Cagalli took their seats. Cagalli felt a surge of irritation when she saw Mikazuki sitting there, completely unfazed.

"Hey, don't you have anything you want to say?"

Mikazuki tilted his head. "Say what?"

"Ugh... forget it!" Cagalli turned her head away, her face still red.

Mikazuki muttered under his breath, "Strange fellow."

"Pffft, hahaha!"

Andrew couldn't help but burst into laughter again. "Young man, you can't be like that. Be careful, or you'll never find a girlfriend."

"Then... does having a child count?" Mikazuki asked, scratching his cheek.

Andrew, who had just taken a sip of coffee, sprayed it right out of his mouth.

"Cough, cough! Wait, wait, wait! Boy, what did you say? A child? You have a child?"

Kira and Cagalli were equally stunned as they stared at Mikazuki.

"Yeah... probably. If Atra Mixta brings the child into the world safely," Mikazuki said as he tossed a Date into his mouth.

Andrew felt his world-view shattering. Dammit, he was a thirty-year-old man and still didn't have a child with his wife, yet this fifteen or sixteen-year-old kid in front of him was already a father?

"You... you're not joking, right?" Cagalli asked tentatively.

Mikazuki looked at Cagalli with his dead fish eyes. "Do I look like I'm joking? It should be right. Before I left, Atra did say she was pregnant. Kudelia Aina Bernstein even promised Atra and me that she would help take care of the child. I just don't know if it's a boy or a girl yet."

"Congratulations then..." Cagalli said, before shaking her head vigorously. "No! We're getting off track! How could a kid like you who barely has any hair on his chin be a father?"

"Believe whatever you want." Mikazuki didn't feel like explaining anymore. It was too much trouble; he was simply stating a fact.

Cagalli huffed and picked up the coffee that had been prepared for her earlier. She looked toward Andrew.

"Forget about him. Let's talk about you. Why did you make me wear this skirt? And earlier... is that some kind of hobby of yours?"

Andrew picked up his coffee again and took a sip. "Aisha chose the dress for you; I had nothing to do with it. As for a hobby, what do you mean?"

Cagalli set her coffee down and glared coldly at Andrew. "I mean you wandering the streets in civilian clothes, making the residents flee only to burn the town down."

"Oh, you're quite direct. And... your eyes are good. Quite sharp."

The smile on Andrew's face made Cagalli feel like she was being toyed with. Her impulsive nature flared up again as she slammed her hand on the table and stood. "Are you kidding me? Are you playing with me?"

The smile on Andrew's face vanished instantly, replaced by a serious expression.

"Do you also feel that life is worse than death?"

Kira and Cagalli were stunned by his words. Andrew then turned his gaze toward Kira.

"What do you think? How do you think this war should end? As a Mobile Suit pilot."

Cagalli's pupils shrank. "How did you know?"

She didn't know about the conversation Andrew had with Mikazuki and Kira while she was washing up, so Andrew revealing Kira's identity as a pilot came as a massive shock.

"Hahaha, being too direct is also a problem, isn't it? Well then, boy next to him, what about you? What do you think? How should the war end?"

As Andrew spoke, he stood up and walked toward a drawer in the corner of the room. The moment he moved, Kira stood up and slowly guided Cagalli behind the sofa.

The only one who didn't move was Mikazuki, who remained seated on the sofa. Just as Andrew's hand gripped something inside the drawer, Mikazuki spoke.

"Just kill them all, right?"

"Hmm?"

Andrew looked back at the expressionless Mikazuki. Mikazuki stared at the coffee table and said calmly, "If your goal is so-called peace, then you just have to kill everyone who gets in the way of that goal. That should be enough, right?"

Andrew's expression tightened. The object he was holding finally revealed its form—it was a handgun.

"Boy, you..."
