Chapter 2
Seth stood near the window of his study, staring at the sky with an unreadable expression on his face.
His gaze shifted down to the busy minded people walking down the crowded street. From a distance, he heard the sound of police cars, chasing after a pair of burglars who had probably just finished robbing the bank.
Seth's expression twisted as he continued to stare at the humans. They seemed carefree, doing everything they wanted. Their hearts were filled with malice. Many of them did evil but yet, they always had a chance to gain forgiveness. He hated them very much. They were abusing God's patience and kindness and doing all sorts of malevolent things. Killing, raping, idolatry, orgies, you mention it.
And yet, God seemed quiet, looking down on them.
Seth gritted his teeth in anger and pain, as he lifted his eyes to the sky. The day of doom which he hated to remember came flashing back into his mind. He remembered how the Lord had cast him and the other elite angels on the earth in shame and disgrace. He hadn't even given them the second chance for repentance.
But yet, he loved and cherished the humans so much, even though, they were so foolish and insensible.
Over the centuries, he had learnt to live with his deserving pain.
Suddenly, the door to his study flew open, and a woman appeared.
" my lord " she said with a bow.
Seth didn't flinch. He continued to gaze out the window.
"What information do you have. " he said coldly.
" Lucien and his army of demons are preparing to cause an earthquake in the south. This is estimated to kill 70 percent of the population there."
" when are they setting out."
" on the fifth my lord. At midnight. "
" summon him and the other leaders."
" yes my lord, your wish is my command. " the woman said respectfully.
she turned and vanished into the thin air leaving the room silent once more.
