Chapter 4 - Battle of The Ruins of Klondike Valley (Part I)

In Greater Ottawa, the city of twenty thousand people was in a state of full panic. However, the Council Guard and the Council ordered everyone to their home. Archie stood in Washington Park as their world unraveled.

His white hair swayed gently in the breeze of this strange new world. His soft hazel eyes looked out at the world. At eighty-seven years old, this was an experience that no one could've recorded and believed had happened. His tan-ish Norwegian-American skin seemed to glow in the sunlight of this strange new world, even just barely. The Ghost paused to take a mental picture, then walked up to him. "Grandpa, you need to get inside. We have no way of..." Archie held up his hand and looked at his Grandson. He nodded slowly, then motioned for the Ghost and the Greater Ottawan Army to follow him. "Ghost, I know that you believe that you're keeping me safe. However, the citizens must see me outside, ready to defend them at a moment's notice. Have Dr. Sue bring me the Irongrail, let's see just what we can do about fortifying the city." Archie's gentle, yet confident smile was all the troops needed to refocus.

Meanwhile, the two Kingdoms rushed their armies to a ready status. They were to bring back the "otherworlders" they'd summoned, unaware they'd summoned an entire city. Both King Johan and Emperor Lincoln Pride rose war beasts alongside their armies. Both of their speeches mirrored each other as they spoke in stark, parallel unison; "TODAY! My soldiers, we bring an end to a repugnant, godless species that has muddied our way of life for far too long! TODAY! WE BRING RUIN UPON [The Holy Kingdom of Remsdale]/[The Leo-Kin Imperial Dynasty]! NOW, MARCH UNTO VICTORY!" The two leaders roared as their soldiers moved out. Each of their armies numbered ten thousand strong and had various ranks: Magic Casters, Archers, Knights, Dragon Riders, and Cavalry. As these medieval soldiers marched, it would be two days before they reached the Ruins of Klondike Valley, but these two nations weren't about to lose to each other. However, they had no idea that they would come face-to-face with an alternate reality, one where the number of soldiers mattered very little.

Two days passed swiftly back in Greater Ottawa. The Greater Ottawan Army had fortified the city, utilizing the rubble from the ruins along with numerous barricades from CIMCO Recycling. While many would've thought the city would still be in a state of panic, they would've assumed wrongly. The Ottawans had been used to tangoing with the New World Order. Along with the wisdom and guidance of Archie, the Ottawans were hard at work, creating bullets, slugs, shells, and more. Many were stationed at the Naval Base, which housed one Battleship (USS Illinois/BB-65), one Aircraft Carrier (USS Enterprise/CV-6), and numerous smaller ships. Dr. Sue and her teams of scientists and researchers refitted Betsy Ross with Helios Arcbeam Lasers that fit over her optical lenses within her eyebar. That took all of twelve hours, so Dr. Sue got the Ghost, Archie, and the Ghost's elite unit, Task Force Illiniwek, suited up in powered armor.

Archie was outfitted in his streamlined suit of armor dubbed the Irongrail Prototype. Task Force Illiniwek was outfitted in a variant of the O.P.C.A., designated the O.M.P.A. or Ottawa Military Purpose Armor. It was a prototype suit of armor requested by the Greater Ottawan Army for improved defense. However, only six suits had been completed and tested; therefore, Task Force Illiniwek would wear the suits into combat. Lastly, came the Ghost. Dr. Sue had created a monster of a suit of armor for the Ghost of Ottawa to utilize. Early on in their rebellion against the New World Order, the Greater Ottawan forces secured World War II warbirds and several unique aircraft. One of which was the B-29 known as the Enola Gay, which was used in the nuclear bombing of Japan. However, be it insanity or genius-inspired, Dr. Sue had created a suit of powered armor to mimic the legendary bomber. This suit was designated the B.M.P.A-82 or the Bombardier Modeled Powered Armor-MK 82. While it was painted to match the Enola Gay B-29, the name painted on the back-mounted flight pack was intended to send a terrifying message. In Radium-painted letters, read the word Demon Core on both of the flight pack's wings. The atomically scorched silver paint of the armor gave the Ghost of Ottawa a beacon-like look, but for good reason. For it was the Ghost who was their strongest fighter, and the closest thing Greater Ottawa had to a purely psychotic warrior.

Once everyone was outfitted and back outside, the Ghost went to speak to his Grandpa, but before he could even get the chance, their short-range radios squawked to life. "POTENTIAL ENEMIES INBOUND!"
