"Lady Larissa," Dravis said, stopping near the crying girl and bowing slightly. "I must express my thanks for your information about our hero. It's unbefitting for her to be put through so much unending torment, especially when she has already sacrificed so much for all of us."
Nert caught a fleeting flash of disgust pass across the girl's face, gone almost as quickly as it appeared, replaced by a small, polite smile as she replied, dabbing at her tears with a handkerchief. "No worries. This is the least I can do for her, I guess."
Nert watched as Raicon strode toward Kelly's figure on the ground, his face alive with glee, a hand reaching for her hair.
Without a second thought, Nert kicked it away. The sheer audacity of his move made everyone turn to stare, shock and bewilderment written across their faces. Each of them was probably thinking the same thing.
