Kelly looked at the five of them who were still hesitating to descend the terrain. With a sigh, she brought her hands to her face and pulled off the mask. The enchantment vanished with it, her hair falling back to its usual purple behind her shoulders.
"What are you doing?" Vanya snapped, glancing around nervously as if to make sure no one had seen her.
Kelly tossed the mask to Rowan, who caught it without a word. Even he could tell this was inevitable.
"This is goodbye," Kelly said, letting out a relieved sigh as she finally got rid of the mask. It had served its purpose, but wearing it had been suffocating. "From here on, staying with you guys will only put you in danger. My abilities stand out, and there's no way I'm holding back against a tide of monsters just to keep a disguise."
