A chilly breeze brushed past Kelly the moment the cave broke open under the weight of their power, the dark, gloomy night sky spilling into view. A few butterflies swarmed around Elyndra in a tight formation, slicing apart the falling rocks and knocking back most of the teenagers charging at her, desperate to take her as a hostage.
Kelly drew in a deep breath. Fighting outside, away from that cramped tunnel, finally gave her room to breathe. Star Dance always worked best in open space — places where she could actually move.
So she did.
She tilted her head, slipping past a rune-gun shot fired from behind, her body weaving through the flurry of attacks as she danced with the rhythm.
A boy teleported in front of her, twin daggers raised as he swung for her neck. Kelly spun aside and tapped his forehead with her forefinger, firing a dust spike straight through his skull, his head bursting into a spray of blood and gore.
The rest of the battle was no different.
