Intermission - The Memory of a Mother - Hymn of Unseeing

A traditional hymn of Willow's Hollow, often sung by the Weavers Guild during twilight hours. Mara Vayne learned this from her grandmother, who claimed it could quiet restless spirits and ease troubled minds.

 Hymn of Unseeing:

In shadow's embrace where the lost souls dwell,

Where memory fractures and echoes swell,

The Unseeing walk through the veil of night,

Bearing the burden of stolen sight.

Close your eyes to what haunts the deep,

Let the Unseeing guard your sleep.

For some truths are too sharp to bear,

And some wounds need the mercy of a prayer.

Through Whispering Roads where the sorrow flows,

Where the Lamentus feeds on what no one knows,

The blind lead the seeing away from despair,

With hands that remember, with hearts that care.

When the bridge between worlds grows thin as thread,

And the living must walk among the dead,

The Unseeing whisper: "Release, be free—

Not all that is lost was meant to be."

Open your heart to what time may heal,

Let the Unseeing teach you to feel.

For some truths, once faced, lose their sting,

And some wounds, once cleansed, learn to sing.

*Traditional ending spoken, not sung:*

"By thread and by shadow, by silence and stone, May the Unseeing guide us safely home.

By shadow's mercy and forgotten name, May the Unseeing guard our flame."
