Arthur closed his eyes and silently recited Role-Playing Transformation System in his heart. Sure enough, a digital screen appeared in his mind.
> [Role-Playing Transformation System]
Arthur clicked on the instructions and carefully read through them to understand how the system worked. That's when he finally understood the meaning behind that voice echoing in his mind earlier.
> [Ding! Detected emotional fluctuation from Hayakawa Aki. Rewarding XX points.]
"So that's how it works... Just like I thought. This system can detect emotional fluctuations in main characters from various anime worlds and reward me with points accordingly. Looks like teasing Hayakawa Aki before I left really paid off."
However, Arthur also noticed that the system categorized emotional reactions from these characters into two types: normal and special.
Normal emotions included happiness, joy, comfort, and so on, and usually gave fewer points.
Special emotions, on the other hand—guilt, shame, excitement, sadness, euphoria, anything tied to physical reactions or strong negative emotions—earned significantly more points.
Arthur opened his personal panel in the system and saw that his current point total was 53.
"Is that a lot or a little?"
He then opened the shop panel to see the pricing, only to find that nothing was actually being sold there. There was only a long rectangular search bar and a single rectangular button below it.
Written on the button was:
> [Purchase foundational logic for powers from various anime, games, and universes]
Ignoring the button for now, Arthur clicked on the search bar and typed in Artoria Pendragon (Saber).
> [Available Role: Artoria Pendragon (Saber)] [Class Abilities: Magic Resistance, Riding] [Character skills and weapons unlock automatically upon purchase]
> [Unique Skills:] Radiant Journey: 200 points
Mana Burst: 300 points
Charisma: 500 points
Monster Slayer: 500 points
> [Weapons:] Sword of Promised Victory: 1000 points
> [Noble Phantasms:] Invisible Air: 1000 points
Excalibur: 20,000 points
Excalibur ???: 80,000 points
> [Total required points: 103,000]
"One hundred and three thousand points? Just the ultimate Excalibur costs eighty thousand! When will I ever save up enough for that?"
Still, considering Saber's power levels, it made sense. And thankfully, everything could be purchased separately.
"80,000 points for a sword that can save stars… Alright, I can accept that."
Thinking about it again, the newbie gift package this system had given him really was a GIFT. Arthur suddenly felt regret—he had only used his three-minute trial to kill one bat demon. What a waste.
He proceeded to search for strong characters from other series—Gojo Satoru, Naruto Uzumaki, Monkey D. Luffy, etc. Whether strong or weak, as long as they had appeared in games or anime, they were all available.
Having grasped the mechanics, Arthur went back to the search screen and finally clicked the button:
> [Purchase foundational logic for powers from various anime, games, and universes]
The screen changed quickly.
> [Cursed Energy, Chakra, Mana, Swordsmanship, Blade Techniques, Daoist Arts...]
[Foundational logics cannot be purchased or enhanced repeatedly. They grow stronger through repeated usage.]
Arthur immediately understood what "foundational logic" meant.
In other words, to role-play as Saber again, he'd need to possess mana. To become a Jujutsu Kaisen character, he'd need cursed energy. Some special characters might even require two or three types of logic.
After thinking for a while on the rooftop, Arthur decided to buy one of the cheaper logics: Swordsmanship, which cost 50 points.
In an instant, his point balance dropped to just 3 points.
But right at the moment of purchase, he felt his body change.
He felt lighter than usual, his breathing steadier, and his mind calmer and more focused.
Arthur could clearly perceive everything around him—the flow of air, even faint distant sounds.
It was as if his body had fully mastered the concept of swordsmanship.
After exploring the rest of the system, Arthur left the rooftop and returned home. He flopped onto his bed with a look of contentment.
"Perfect. I knew something was missing when Goddess Eris teleported me here. In Konosuba, everyone gets a cheat ability when they reincarnate. Looks like my cheat finally arrived."
Rolling over, Arthur thought aloud:
"Looks like I should try getting closer to the main characters from Chainsaw Man—Hayakawa Aki, Makima, etc. I can use their emotional fluctuations to earn more points and buy more stuff from the system."
But just then—
Grrrrrrrr~
His stomach rumbled loudly.
He got up to cook, but immediately remembered: the groceries he'd bought earlier were all lost during the bat demon attack.
With no other choice, he headed to a nearby convenience store to buy fresh ingredients again. Thankfully, he encountered no more rampaging demons on the way back.
Whistling, Arthur exited the elevator, only to suddenly stop in his tracks.
In front of his rental apartment, a woman leaned against the wall.
She had jet-black hair tied into a high ponytail, wearing the standard Public Safety uniform. The outfit hugged her curves like a second skin, accentuating her hourglass figure.
From Arthur's angle, he could see her side profile: a textbook-perfect S-shape body—voluptuous chest (probably a D-cup), slender waist, round hips, and long legs that seemed straight out of a model magazine. A golden ratio body.
The only downside was that she was injured. Her wrist and neck were bandaged, making her appear fragile and triggering either a protective urge—or a destructive one.
Arthur instantly recognized her.
"Hayakawa Aki?"
He was surprised. Earlier, he had only gotten a brief look at her chest while helping her up. He hadn't noticed she was this well-endowed.
Aki was leaning quietly against the wall, watching the sunset. She hadn't noticed Arthur's return.
She pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a slow drag.
Her expression was dazed, eyes unfocused. Though she had work tomorrow and should be prepping tonight, her mind kept drifting back to that man from earlier.
"Sigh… why is he so slow?"
Suddenly, the cigarette was snatched from her fingers.
A hand extinguished it and slipped it back into her pocket in one fluid motion.
"No smoking allowed in this building. The landlord was very clear when I signed the lease."
Aki turned in surprise at the voice. When she saw Arthur's face, her cheeks flushed pink.
> [Ding! Hayakawa Aki's panicked emotion detected, reward: 20 points]
