---
We were on a rooftop in Metropolis.
A light rain was falling, making my majestic hair slightly wet.
With gloomy thoughts, I stared at the massive hole left behind by Superman.
Only one thought kept running through my head:
"If this was all caused just by Superman's ship… what could Darkseid do? Could I even survive one of his Omega Beams?"
I smirked.
I'll do whatever it takes to get back home…
Some damn Darkseid? He might have the power to destroy planets, but he'd still lose to me. I'll destroy anyone who stands in my way.
Once I set my goals, my thoughts were interrupted by a voice one that wasn't Barry's or Thomas's.
I turned around and saw a tall, well-built government dog, a.k.a. Cyborg.
Cyborg spoke to Thomas:
"I'll admit, I didn't expect your call."
"Cyborg…" Barry said in a happy tone,
"Vic… you look different."
Cyborg immediately replied:
"Do we know each other?"
Before Barry could say anything more, Thomas cut in:
"No, he's new. Calls himself Flash. He's super-fast."
Thomas continued,
"You need a strategist for your army? Someone who could assemble a team to take down Aquaman and Wonder Woman?"
Cyborg paused for a moment, then spoke:
"I… yes."
Thomas spoke again:
"I'm in. But on my terms I choose the team. First will be Flash. Second will be…"
Thomas turned to me, clearly expecting me to say some superhero name.
All three of them looked at me, waiting.
I got nervous I hadn't thought about a superhero name. I didn't even have a Frickin suit.
But after a moment, I forced something out:
"Just call me Vader for now."
Thomas nodded and continued:
"Second will be Vader."
Barry then started explaining why we were in Metropolis, but I wasn't even listening.
I was too busy trying to think of a better name than Vader.
My naming skills were honestly terrible. I couldn't come up with anything truly original, so I had to accept that people were now going to call me Vader…
Sigh… this world is cruel. 😔
By the time I finally started paying attention to the three of them, they had already finished talking, and we were heading into the sewers.
Like… really? I'm going to stink after this…...
We walked through the tunnels for a few minutes until Cyborg touched a wall, which caused some kind of secret door to open.
We stepped inside and found ourselves in a hidden underground base.
Using his cybernetic abilities, Cyborg noticed there were lasers ahead. He stopped Barry before he could run in and deactivated them.
Barry then rushed forward, and the only things we heard were:
"Arghhhh!
Noooo!
Ahhhhh!"
From the sound of it, Barry beat them up pretty badly.
We followed after him and found a few soldiers lying clearly unconscious on the ground.
Ahead of us were iron doors, which Cyborg quickly opened.
When they opened, we could see the twisted experiments the American government had been conducting.
Several large tanks filled with water stood in the room, containing bones and other things.
As we moved further, strange creatures began to appear in the tanks probably some attempt to create a homunculus or a copy of Superman.
Finally, we stopped in front of massive armored doors that opened as soon as we got close.
Inside was the so-called Man of Steel, also known as the Last Son of Krypton.
The whole room was bathed in red light most likely to make sure Superman, a.k.a. Clark Kent, never gained enough power to escape.
Humans were seriously messed up.
While I was lost in thought, the others had already approached Clark's frail, thin figure.
I could hear Thomas doubting Barry's earlier claims, but even I knew that the moment Superman stepped out of this facility, he'd regain his god-like powers.
Barry pulled Clark along while Thomas and Cyborg talked about how the government was working with someone.
I didn't care.
I was the only one who stayed silent the whole way out of the base well, except for Clark.
But once we emerged, we were met with a surprise:
Soldiers, weapons aimed right at us.
I instantly raised my hand, ready to stop the bullets if they fired.
Cyborg tried to talk them into letting us go without shooting, but the soldiers didn't give a damn until one of them shot Cyborg in the head.
Cyborg was stunned for a second, and then they all started firing without mercy.
My hand was already ready all the bullets fired at us were stopped in front of me.
Meanwhile, Flash dashed forward in the next second and destroyed their machine guns or whatever they were using.
But then something I didn't expect happened
From the tunnels, a soldier appeared with an RPG.
He aimed it at Cyborg.
I was too slow, and Barry was still busy destroying weapons.
The rocket was already flying toward Cyborg
but then, the Man of Steel leapt in front of him and caught the warhead, which exploded in his hands.
I was far enough away that the explosion didn't hit me.
When the smoke cleared, I saw Superman rising into the sky.
Then a squad of soldiers appeared.
That's when I got an idea I smirked and aimed my hand at them.
The wave of bullets they had fired at us earlier was sent back at them without mercy.
Most of the soldiers ended up like Swiss cheese.
Only a few survived my barrage, but I didn't have to deal with them
Superman used his heat vision and finished off the remaining soldiers on the ground.
It was obvious he couldn't control his powers, so I moved to the side before I ended up like those soldiers utterly destroyed.
Barry had already returned and was shouting at Superman to close his eyes.
Clark covered his eyes with his hands, but it didn't help much.
Instead, his lasers struck enemy ships, wiping out every soldier.
Eventually, Clark stopped his heat vision, but once he could finally see, I'm sure he wished he were blind.
Looking at the destruction he had caused, he couldn't handle it… and flew away.
I regrouped with the others, but then Barry collapsed to the ground in agony.
"Arggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!"
Cyborg quickly spoke, looking at Barry writhing in pain:
"What's happening to him?"
Thomas replied,
"He's having a seizure his memories are overlapping. We need to get him out of here."
Then he spoke directly to Barry, who was still twisting in pain on the ground:
"Fight it! Don't forget about my son!"
