Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Revenge of Past life

I launched attack after attack at Kai slashing, charging, striking with everything I had.

But still… he didn't have a single scratch.

"I killed Joe… to save you," Kai said calmly.

My eyes widened.

That shadow on that day… it was him.

"And now, you carry his power," Kai continued. "But even with it, you're still not strong enough."

He stepped forward.

A heavy strike forced me back.

"I killed Aelira… just to bring out your ultimate power. But even that was a waste," Kai said, his voice cold.

His attacks came faster, sharper. I tried to block, to move—but my power was fading. My breathing grew heavy. My vision blurred.

Kai raised his hand.

"This ends now."

His final blow came crashing down.

Darkness.

Only blackness in front of my eyes…

And then—

That same place. The silent white space.

I was back where I had once met King Korel.

He stood with his back to me. Slowly, he turned to face me.

"You failed again," Korel said, his voice heavy with disappointment.

"Is there any way to kill him?" I asked, desperate.

"I don't know…" he replied, then paused. "But you have to try. One more time."

"What can I do?" I asked.

"My magic is strong. Use it against him," Korel said. "By taking your ultimate form, your power will increase. Use my magic—it will give you energy beyond your limits."

Blackness returned—

And when my eyes opened again…

I was by the lake.

That same place… where we first met.

Joe was sitting beside the water, staring into the ripples.

I quietly sat beside him.

"I used all my remaining power just to meet you," Joe said with a faint smile. "I'm the real Joe. The one whose power flows through you."

"There's something I need to tell you."

He looked at me, eyes calm, yet filled with strength.

"I was powerful—far beyond what you know. And you… you can be even stronger. But you must awaken your aura. Open your ultimate form."

He touched my chest gently.

"My eye contains all my memories. Use it. Tap into it. Copy my power."

Then, he slowly stood.

"I have to go now. But believe in yourself. That's the only way to win."

And like wind through the trees—he disappeared.

Blackness again…

Kai stood in front of me, sword raised—ready to strike. I could feel death inches away.

But then… something awakened.

I focused, letting my aura surge. Korel's magic flowed through me, combining with my own. The ground trembled beneath my feet as my body ignited with pure energy. My eyes snapped open—sharp, glowing with new power.

Kai's blade swung down, but I vanished—soaring into the sky with blinding speed.

Kai looked up, his face twisted in disbelief. "So… you've finally reached your ultimate form."

He flew up after me, fast as a flash. But I could see it now—every move, every angle. My vision predicted his path before he even acted.

He struck.

I dodged.

And countered with a fierce punch to his jaw.

Kai was launched backward, tumbling through the sky before regaining balance. He hovered midair, wiping blood from his mouth.

"H-How is this possible…?" he muttered, eyes wide.

I floated higher, surrounded by blazing energy. My aura was no longer just power—it was a storm. Lightning crackled. Wind roared.

This was more than strength.

This… was the beginning of his end.

With a burst of speed, I charged at Kai, our blades clashing in a violent dance of sparks. He defended swiftly, but I was faster. In the chaos, I summoned a clone—it moved as if attacking, a perfect decoy. Kai fell for it, slashing his sword straight through the illusion.

That was my chance.

I reappeared behind him and slashed across his back.

"Aaaaaaagh!" Kai roared, stumbling forward.

He turned quickly, but I struck again. This time he blocked it, and I saw his wounds slowly healing. He leapt back, eyes narrowing. Then he unleashed his invisible power—but I could see through it now. At the right moment, I grabbed his arm and hurled him across the sky like a comet.

He recovered midair, stabilizing himself. We both surged our auras to the max, infusing our swords with raw power. In a flash, we rushed toward each other. Our blades collided.

BOOOOM!

The explosion of energy forced Kai back, sent him flying. I stood my ground—my magician's shield absorbed the shockwave. He skidded across the sky and stopped—just outside the borders of a nearby city.

He looked up. I was already closing the distance.

"Tch… there's no choice left," Kai muttered. "I'll end this."

His body glowed ominously. His hair turned jet black. His eyes blazed crimson.

He had entered his ultimate form.

With no time to lose, I shot toward him. Our swords clashed once more, light and darkness exploding with every strike. I unleashed a wave of energy—he countered with his black aura. Our fight shattered buildings, tore through the sky, and shook the city.

"Enough!" Kai roared, summoning a massive dragon.

I didn't hesitate. With blinding speed, I dashed forward, driving my sword deep into the dragon's neck. Then I carved my blade down its spine—from neck to tail—splitting it in two.

But Kai wasn't done.

He roared, summoning four more dragons, each one larger and more monstrous than the last.

I dashed forward, my blade flashing. With a sharp swing, I sliced through one of the dragon's eyes. It roared in pain.

I twisted my body mid-air, dove down, then shot upward again—my sword trailing with power. The blade sliced straight through the dragon's mouth, tearing it open.

Without a pause, I flew inside its mouth—and pierced through its brain in a blink.

One second.

That's all it took.

I burst out from the back of its head. Without slowing, I turned to the next dragon, dodging a wall of fire. One by one, I struck, slicing through scale and bone, narrowly escaping flames and fangs.

Each dragon fell.

And then—I was flying straight toward Kai.

He raised his hand and summoned yet another beast, but I dodged the creature's strike, weaving through the air like lightning.

In a flash, I was right in front of Kai.

I brought my sword down with full force—he blocked, steel crashing against steel.

CRACK!

His blade shattered.

Just before my sword could hit him, he flew backward, escaping the blow. Energy surged around him as he began repairing his broken body with terrifying speed.

He summoned a new sword, its edge pulsing with dark light.

"I hold both the Red Stone and the Black Stone," Kai declared, eyes glowing. "You cannot defeat me. I'm not human… not alien…"

His voice deepened, darker than ever.

"I am a monster."

He raised both hands, the stones glowing at his chest.

"The Red Stone gives me infinite power," he said. "And the Black Stone—lets me control spirits."

He smirked coldly.

"That's how I revived Joe. That's how I created these dragons."

My grip on my sword tightened.

So Joe… and everything I've been fighting…

Were born from those cursed stones.

A massive wave of fire came roaring from behind.

I twisted through the air and, without hesitation, thrust my sword straight into the dragon's brain—piercing it in a flash of light and speed. The beast collapsed midair, flames fading from its mouth.

Kai floated ahead, his entire body radiating with a violent, dark aura.

"Now I'm using my full power," he declared, his voice echoing through the ruined sky.

His energy exploded outward like a storm. But I responded with my own—unleashing everything I had left. My aura flared like a second sun.

We were both at our limits.

And we charged.

Kai summoned an entire army of dragons—dozens, maybe hundreds—filling the sky between us.

But I didn't stop.

I flew forward, slashing through one dragon… then another… and another.

They came at me from all sides, but I didn't care.

I wasn't here to fight them.

I was here to end this.

Each flap of my wings, each swing of my sword—faster. Faster than ever before. I was moving so fast, even the King Dragon couldn't track me. I became a blur, cutting a straight path through the chaos.

And finally—I reached him.

Kai's eyes widened. He threw one last dragon in my path, desperate.

Too slow.

I pierced straight through it, dark blood trailing behind me as I flew.

Kai covered himself in a barrier of dense black energy.

But even that—wasn't enough.

"AAAHHHHHHHH!" I screamed, driving my sword forward with everything I had.

The blade struck.

The energy cracked.

And in that moment…

His body shattered—consumed by light and ash.

The black aura around him faded. All that remained of the monster was dust rising into the wind.

I fell—my body heavy, my vision fading—crashing down through a broken rooftop.

It was over.

I had killed him.

Finally, it was over.

I knelt beside Master Kan, placing my hand on his chest and channeling my energy into him. A soft glow spread through his body—and slowly, his eyes opened.

He was alive.

Without wasting time, I rushed to Noah. His body was limp, and Oliver's lifeless form was still clenched between his mouth. I focused my aura and poured it into Noah. A surge of light erupted, and his body twitched, awakening with a gasp.

Gently, he opened his mouth. Oliver dropped onto the ground—unconscious, but breathing. He was alive, just in a deep sleep.

I turned to Aelira.

Her body… was turning to dust.

I reached for her, but it was already too late.

"When a clone dies, its body fades into dust," Kan said softly as he stood behind me.

"I should've come earlier," I muttered, guilt clawing at my chest.

"She was a clone," Kan said. "Her original body has already been reincarnated into a new life. She's alive… somewhere. You just have to find her."

I clenched my fists. "I will."

Master Kael's body… there was nothing left. Only scorched earth where he had once stood.

Still, I bowed my head. "Thank you, Master Kael. For everything."

Aelira's dust swirled into the air, disappearing like a fading memory.

"I'll find you," I whispered.

Meanwhile, aboard the starship…

Orean turned to Jack with a knowing smile.

"So… what's your decision?" he asked. "Will you stay on Earth… or work with us?"

Jack looked out the window, watching the planet slowly rotate below them.

"Thirty years in one place," he said with a faint smile. "It's enough. I've come to like Earth now."

He stood, facing Orean.

"I'm staying. And Oliver—when he wakes up—he'll probably say the same."

Oren nodded. "Then welcome home."
