Chapter 29 - Her name was Eve

Episode 29: Her Name Was Eve

Location: Private Medical Wing – 3 Days Later

Nathaniel's body lay still, pale and lifeless, on a white hospital bed. Machines had long stopped beeping. The heart that once protected Evan—despite betrayal, pain, and manipulation—was quiet.

Evan stood alone by the window, arms wrapped around herself. Outside, the estate grounds were in ruins, but the skies were finally clear.

"I hated you," she whispered. "But I still prayed you'd live."

No one replied.

Only silence.

Elsewhere – Luna Holdings HQ

Abel sat before the Board of Directors.

His name was plastered across headlines:

"Luna Heir Involved in Secret Child Scandal."

"Corporate Sabotage, Genetic Crimes, Hidden Heiress."

The Chairman sneered. "You've brought this company to its knees. Not only did you hide a child—you were complicit in Cassandra's illegal research."

Abel's hands remained folded. Calm.

"I didn't hide anything. I exposed it," he said coolly. "And if that makes me the villain in your story—so be it."

The Chairman slammed the table. "You are hereby suspended from all CEO duties pending further legal—"

The door flew open.

Evan.

She walked in like fire and thunder, a black envelope in hand.

"Before you seal his fate, you should know what Cassandra did in your name."

She tossed the envelope onto the table.

Inside:

A final will from Cassandra Virelli.

And the name of her last secret:

"Project Eve."

Flashback – Cassandra's Video Recording (Final Will)

The screen flickered on.

Cassandra appeared pale, gaunt, her once icy voice now hollow.

"If you're watching this, it means I'm gone. Or ruined. Or worse, beaten by the very girl I tried to control."

She leaned forward.

"But I didn't lose. Because I never put all my eggs in one basket."

She held up a vial.

"Meet Eve—my final daughter. Made from Evan's DNA… and someone far more powerful than Abel Luna. She was born in secret. Raised in shadow."

A photo flashed.

A girl. Ten years old. Red eyes. Black hair.

"She doesn't know what she is yet," Cassandra said with a smile. "But she's watching."

End of video.

Present Day – Medical Wing

Emrys dropped the printed coordinates Cassandra left behind. "This is where she kept her."

Evan clenched her jaw. "A child. Raised to become a weapon. My… clone?"

"She's not you," Emrys said softly. "She's her own person. And she's scared."

Evan touched the necklace Nathaniel gave her. "Then I'll find her."

Abel stepped in. "We'll find her. Together."

Location: Remote Island Compound – One Week Later

The doors creaked open. Dust clung to every wall.

Zane led the way through abandoned halls, gun raised. They passed empty nurseries, broken labs, old surveillance rooms.

Then—

A sound.

Footsteps.

And a voice.

"You're not supposed to be here."

They turned.

There she was.

Eve.

She looked like Evan at ten years old—but with something colder behind her eyes. Curiosity. Mistrust. Power.

"I know who you are," she said.

"I'm your sister," Evan replied.

Eve tilted her head. "No. You're my blueprint."

Final Scene – Island Dock

Later that night, Evan sat beside Eve, wrapped in a blanket.

"I didn't ask to be made," Eve said quietly. "I didn't ask to be like you."

Evan looked at her gently. "I didn't ask for any of this either."

A long pause.

"Can I be real?" Eve whispered.

"You already are," Evan said, hugging her close.

Behind them, Abel watched, a new light in his eyes.

They had saved one child.

Now they'd protect another.
