Episode 13: Bloodlines and Betrayals
The twins were strong.
Still under NICU care, but feeding, breathing, and surviving better than anyone expected.
Evan visited them every morning and every night, her palm resting over the incubators like a promise. Abel never left her side—not anymore. Not since the surgery. Not since the night she almost bled out in his arms.
She thought they were healing.
She thought they were finally free.
But everything unraveled the moment she answered the hospital phone.
---
"Hello?"
"Is this… Evan Dendelion?"
"Yes. Who's this?"
A pause. Then—
"It's your father."
She stopped breathing.
---
Two Hours Later — Luna Estate Garden
The man who stepped out of the black car looked like a ghost.
Older. Leaner. Hunched slightly.
But unmistakable.
"Dad?" she whispered.
He nodded, eyes rimmed red.
"I didn't think you'd come," she said.
"I wasn't sure I should."
"Then why now?"
He looked up.
"Because I saw the press leak. You. Pregnant. Alone. And I knew it had to be him."
Her throat tightened.
"It wasn't Abel," she said. "It was someone else. Someone trying to destroy us."
But he didn't blink.
"You really believe that?"
Evan swallowed.
"I do."
He stepped closer, trembling.
"Then you need to know something. Something I kept from you. About why I left. About why your mother died."
Her chest ached.
"Tell me."
He handed her a folder.
Inside were confidential LunaTech files. Dated. Watermarked. Stamped in red.
Project AETHER – Phase 3.
Subject: Evelyn Dendelion.
Her mother.
"What is this?" she breathed.
"I was part of the project," her father said softly. "I told you that. But I never told you who the human trial was. They used your mother."
"No—" she staggered back.
"They said it was a neurological upgrade. Said she could heal faster, think faster. But it went wrong. She collapsed. Had seizures. Then memory loss. And when I threatened to go public…"
"They silenced her."
Evan looked at the last page.
Signature: Abel L. Luna.
"No," she whispered.
"That's the man you married," her father said. "The one who ruined us all."
---
Same Time – Abel's Office
Grant entered, tight-lipped.
"We have a problem."
Abel didn't look up. "If it's about Evan's father, I already know. I sent someone to watch him the moment he landed in the city."
"It's not that. It's Cassandra."
Abel turned.
"She broke into the Singapore vault."
"What did she take?"
Grant handed him a USB.
"Everything. The truth about Project AETHER. About Evelyn Dendelion. About why you married Evan in the first place."
Abel's jaw clenched.
"She's going to use it."
Grant nodded. "She already has."

That Night — Evan's Room
She stood at the window, folder in her hands.
He stepped inside quietly.
"Evan—"
"You lied to me," she said, voice low.
His eyes darkened. "What did he show you?"
"You signed off on the experiment. On my mother."
"I was young. I didn't know they'd use her—"
"But you knew afterward. And you didn't say a word."
Silence.
"Did you marry me to cover it up?" she asked, eyes burning. "To keep me close so I wouldn't find out?"
"No," he said, stepping forward.
But she stepped back.
"Was it revenge? Or guilt? Or just control?"
"I married you," he said tightly, "because I didn't know how else to keep you safe."
She shook her head. "No. You married me to clean up your mess."
The pain in her voice shattered something in him.
"You were never supposed to find out this way," he said.
"But I did."
And then—
She handed him the ring from her finger.
"I'm going to the safe house with the twins. Don't follow me."
He grabbed her wrist, but gently.
"Evan, please."
"You don't get to control the truth anymore."
And just like that, she walked away.
Again.
But this time…
Abel knew she might not come back.

Final Scene — Cassandra's Secret Broadcast
The screen flickered to life.
A grainy video showed Evelyn Dendelion strapped to a gurney. Screaming.
A young Abel Luna in the corner, signing a release form.
Then static.
Then Cassandra's voice.
> "They thought they buried their secrets. But blood always speaks. And this time… the children will pay."
