Khaing was never expected her uncle, Aung, to sneak into palace, kill his own brother, and stole the artifact. The artifact can make the condense mana to not come out from the body and the surrounding mana to not flow into the body with a range that cover up the entire kingdom.
All the mage cannot use their magic because the artifact block the flow of mana. Then warriors, under the control of Aung, seize the palace ,arrest the mages and he took the throne.
Khaing was lucky that she was with Zeral when Aung activate the artifact and attack the palace.
The quick reaction of Zeral save her from being arrest by her uncle. As the Grand magus Zeral have weapons enchanted with Rune magic in his possession. He attack warriors with those weapons and take the princess out of the palace.
"Then here in the forest the rest happen."
Khaing ends her story but questions start inside Min's head.
" How did you summon me if all the magic are blocked, and what type of magic did you use to summon me"
"Zeral has an ancient scroll that is written in strange language. It said that if one use his life as a substitute to mana after drawing certain runes with blood and chant a spell, a dragon can be summon and the soul of the caster will be attached to the dragon."
" Then the caster can request the dragon anything they want as long as the dragon agree to do so."
"Zeral decipher the spell, which was written under the scroll, for me and I used it"
Min looks into the crowd again and see an old man wearing a blue robe. He stepped forward as the dragon's eyes staring at him.
" Greeting Mighty dragon. I am Zeral, the grand magus of this kingdom, the princess sacrifice herself to summon you so I am here to take care of you instead of the princess.
Min thinks those people can't see Khaing as she was a soul attach to him, only he can see her. It's a problem that, right now he can only communicate with Khaing. These people will only him roar if he speak. He wish he can communicate with them. Things would be easy for him if that happen.
Suddenly golden lights emitted from his body as his thoughts end. He stand up as he feels a warm energy embracing his body and the body slowly change its shape. The four legs become smaller and transform into human legs and hands. The wings still on his back but they become smaller. The tail shorten and disappear. He has transformed into a human with dragon wings.
" Wow that is amazing, I can transform"
This time what came out of his mouth were human language, not a loud roar.
" I can speak human language too."
Khaing froze in shock. She had never seen in her life that a dragon can change into a human form. All she know was dragons are intelligence creature like human and communicate with their own language among them.
Min look at Zeral with his dragon eyes.
"I have accept the princess's request and I will protect you people but there is not enough power. I cannot defeat so many warriors alone and I am not sure if I can use magic too "
" The artifact may have some power to also block my magic if I come closer, no one can tell no."
" So gather as many people as you can get for me."
"But Sir dragon, most of the princess's followers are mages, all the warriors in the kingdom are under the control of Aung , without our magic we can't fight the warriors Sir."
Min finds his answer strange but as he has learn the lesson with his parent's lives, he doesn't spill out his thoughts on strange things.
" Don't worry, I will protect you all, first I need to confirm that the artifact has no power to block my magic."
" So you gather many mage as much as you can get and I want to find some informations.about artifact"
" Meet me here under this tree after three days"
Min transformed back to dragon form as his words end and flysinto the sky facing toward the deep part of the forest.
