"I have a suggestion." The old man from the Sterling Family smirked as he thought of what he would say next. He pushed his "car" towards "checkmate" and said with a smile, "Checkmate!"
A "car" couldn't checkmate Ethan's "king", so he moved his "elephant" to protect the "king".
"You've recently been fiercely suppressing our Sterling Family, which does no good for either of our families."
"How about this, an alliance through marriage between the Grant and Sterling families? You marry my granddaughter, one plus one is greater than two—how about it?"
The old man said this with a grin, the cunning in his eyes unnoticed by Ethan, but Wyatt, who was standing nearby and accustomed to his ways, saw it.
Wyatt found it strange; Ethan hated the Sterling Family, and the old man knew it well. A marriage alliance was something Ethan would never agree to.
