Along with Ivy, several doctors ran to the ambulance that had swiftly brought the seriously ill patient. The two remained outside as Mark continued trying to console Sandra, who was sobbing uncontrollably.
In the hospital's waiting area, two individuals awaited updated information from the doctors. " Daddy , we need to tell his father . " Sandra said, breaking the silence . "
Upon listening to this he took a heavy sigh and nodded his head in agreement. "Indeed, dear."
After ringing three times, the phone call was finally picked up .
" I almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it's you calling ? It's been more than twenty years. " A man's voice said .
" Indeed, Edward. And neither have I called to talk about us today. Your son's in the intensive care . "
"What!!!"
" Yes, ,you had that right . We are at the northwest hospital . "
" What did you do to my son ? "
" Of course not , I didn't do anything to him. Now please don't waste my time any further . Come if you want . Don't if you don't want. "
" I'm going to kill you once I get my hands on you. " The man yelled angrily .

Mark said and hung up the phone.
Ivy, together with her fellow doctor colleagues, started working on Leon, who was in a critical condition due to the motor bike accident that he had encountered .
He had a lot of wounds and had lost a lot of blood . . The doctors had to conduct an immediate surgery on him. Or else he was at risk of not being able to walk again due to the terrible injuries he had sustained . Or even worse , die . .
The nurse brought some paperwork to his relatives to sign ,granting them permission to operate on him and both did as they were asked.
Ivy wiped off the sweat that was continuously forming on her forehead as she carefully operated on Leon . They successfully finished the surgery and had stopped the bleeding . Everything was getting back to normal until the life support machine started showing a flat red line followed by a loud non stopping beep sound . Indicating that he was losing his life .
William noticing this pushed Ivy aside and started trying to use electricity so as to wake his frozen heart but he wasn't responding . They tried again and again. But the results are the same . . He wasn't responding and they all ran out of hopes of him being alive .
A nurse came with a noting board to start noting down details for his departure but Ivy stopped her. "No , he is still alive . Don't write him as gone . " She said to the nurse as she kept on trying to wake his heart. .
" Ivy , you are a professional . I don't think you need us to explain this to you . We did all we could. " doctor William said to her. " No William I can fill it in my heart . That he can still make it just be patient for a little while . " Ivy said as she tried once more to wake him.
" Ivy you're only wasting your time . He isn't coming back . Come on we better get to other patients . Who still need our help. " Doctor Harry said arrogantly and the two men turned to reach out to the door but were stopped by the sound of the life support machine . That was now beeping indicating that the patient was indeed still alive and having a pulse. . They both walked back in shock as they couldn't believe their ears .
They Instantly examined him and found him to be truly still alive . They helped Ivy finish up with the rest of the finished work and then the patient was delivered to a normal ward where he would rest as they continued to monitor him . William patted her shoulder proudly ."If not for you doctor Ivy. We really would have lost that patient. Good work. " William said but Harry only walked out without a word. " I guess this calls for a celebration. Hilda one of the nurses announced .
" Thanks but not really . I was just doing my job Hilda . It's not necessary " Ivy replied as she joined the other doctors slowly walking out to get back to their works. She spotted William talking to the patient's Family and walked on to her office . She was feeling exhausted and sleepy thus she decided to take a short nap to rest .
Which saddly didn't last long as she heard someone knocking at the door . " Doctor Ivy , may i come in please . " A girly voice asked for permission to enter. Ivy lowly groaned as she got her face up from the . " Yes, please . Get in . " Ivy replied as she straightened her body posture from her desk that she was leaning on and taking a nap.
" Hi , doc . I'm Sandra Bronson but you can call me Sandy . I'm the cousin sister to Leon Bronson . The one you have just operated on. " Sandra explained but before she could finish Ivy cut her short . " Yes , is anything up ? " She asked as she quickly got up . " No , there's no problem . In fact I came here to say thank you . One of the nurses has told that if it wasn't for you Leon would have been dead already . So at least thanking you personally is the least i could do . " Sandra added.
" Oh, it's not really a big deal . I was only doing my job . " Ivy replied and sat back .
" But still, it was for me . ,thank you " Sandra said and swiftly turned to leave her office but accidentally bumped into a tall man with black short hair , wearing an expensive suit and with a hand some face who was entering. " Yes I know what you said but still I can't help not to worry about you. Ivy you care so much for others lives and what's sad in the end you forget about your own. I promised to take you out for dinner today but do you know what my men told me when I sent them to pick you up ?

So I should have just left a dying patient to be just because you need me to come for the stupid date that you very well know i wasn't in favour of ." Ivy replied .
