Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: The Path Ahead

The night passed quietly.

Luther didn't train. He didn't plan. He didn't even read.

He lay on his bed with one arm folded behind his head and stared at the ceiling.

"One week," he muttered to himself. "That's all I need."

He closed his eyes and let sleep take him.

☀️ The Next Morning – Class 1A

At exactly 8:00 a.m., the students of Class 1A were seated.

Just in time, the doors opened—Levi and Samuel entered with that tired but collected pace that screamed we didn't run here, we were just early-late.

Luna gave them a look but said nothing. They sat in their seats and tried to blend in.

Luther, already seated, gazed out the window with that lazy expression he wore like armor.

Aurora sat upright.

Valeria looked half-asleep with her arms crossed behind her head.

Everyone was ready for what they thought would be another lecture.

They were wrong.

---

✍️ Luna's Lesson Begins

Luna stepped in with perfect posture, hair tied tightly, and eyes sharper than a blade.

She turned to the board and wrote a single word in large, bold letters:

> ENEMIES

Then turned to face them.

"Today's lesson is not about spells or swords," she said. "It's about who you're fighting… and who fights beside you."

She paused, letting the silence settle in.

---

💀 On Demons

"Demons," she began, "are not just monsters. The higher their rank, the more human they behave. Some are intelligent. Strategic. Deceptive."

She paced as she spoke.

"They don't always come charging at your gates. Some walk through your front door. And the strongest among them—Noble Bloods—command armies and influence civilizations."

Aurora raised her hand.

"Are there demons who live peacefully?"

Luna considered that.

"There are demons who pretend to. And those are the most dangerous."

---

⚔️ The Round Table

Luna turned back to the board and wrote another phrase:

> THE ROUND TABLE – The Ten Pillars of Humanity

"There are ten of them. The most powerful humans alive. They are not kings. Not rulers. They are deterrents. Humanity's nuclear weapons."

"You already know two," she continued. "Our Headmaster, Krav Laboly. And the man with the shortest temper in the north—Jackson Aurelius, Samuel's father."

Samuel shifted in his seat, unfazed. But his jaw tightened.

---

🧊 Levi's Father – Landro Oroboros

"Next," Luna said, "is Landro Oroboros—father of Levi."

Levi raised an eyebrow slightly, but said nothing.

"He is known as The Demon Warden. Strategic. Relentless. Cold. His wife and daughter—Levi's mother and older sister—were killed in a demon raid when Levi was still a child."

Luther looked at Levi briefly.

> No wonder he trains like that.

> A man like Landro doesn't make soft sons. He makes survivors.

And yet, Landro wasn't corrupt. Just frozen over.

---

🔥 Valeria's Mother – Cassandra Voss

"Then we have Cassandra Voss—Valeria's mother. She's known as Titanborn."

Valeria smirked softly at the title, her eyes still half-lidded.

"A woman strong enough to split a mountain in half. A warrior with discipline and enough wrath to lead an army of berserkers—without losing control. She also leads one of the six strongest guilds under Freedom Liberation."

Luther crossed his arms.

> Cassandra's clean. Brutal, but clean. She fights to protect — not to dominate. I like her.

---

👑 Aurora's Father – 'King'

"And then," Luna said, writing in larger letters,

> KING

Not a title. His name.

A few students turned to look at Aurora. She didn't move.

"King is the current strongest human alive. Supreme Commander of the Round Table. Aurora's father."

The room fell quiet.

"King is… difficult to understand," Luna continued carefully. "He's a man of numbers. If ten lives must be lost to save a hundred, he won't hesitate. He'll give the order."

She glanced briefly at Aurora, then back at the class.

"His strength is beyond measure. His strategy unmatched. But don't mistake him for heartless—only… uncompromising."

Luther looked down for a moment.

> I respect him.

> And I hate that I do.

> King isn't wrong. But he's not always right, either. The world needs him… but it needs someone to keep him in check too.

---

🛡️ Luther's Reflections on Power

As Luna continued listing names, guilds, and cities, Luther tuned in and out.

> Jackson. Righteous. Brutal when necessary, but fair. Samuel got lucky.

> Cassandra. The only one who still visits frontlines when she doesn't have to. Valeria got her fire from her mother, even if she hides it behind that lazy face.

> Landro… cold. But never twisted. He doesn't hate for fun. He hates because he has to.

> And King?

> King is on our side. But if you ever stand in his way… he will walk over your corpse without slowing down.

---

🏛️ Freedom Liberation and the Guilds

Luna returned to the board.

> "After graduation, each of you will have two main choices."

"One — you apply to join Freedom Liberation, the organization under the Round Table's protection. They assign jobs, coordinate raids, and stabilize the border."

"Two — you join a guild."

"There are hundreds of them," she explained, "but six dominate the rankings. Each one led by a current Round Table member."

She pointed to six symbols drawn neatly on the board.

"Unless you're exceptional, you won't even see their doors, let alone walk through them."

The room was quiet.

She turned back to the class and crossed her arms.

"But that's why you're here, isn't it?"

"To become exceptional."
