Chapter 206 - Chapter 208: Trapped

Amir laughed. "Kill an Imperial Inquisitor? I don't have that kind of power."

Amir just wanted to leave. 32 was currently facing three Inquisitors alone, barely holding his own thanks to the blaster mounts on his back. Amir needed to get there and help, fast.

Nuludin didn't say another word. Gripping his blaster rifle, he walked steadily toward the Grand Inquisitor.

Lindsey remained in a daze, his mind likely a chaotic mess. He had feared the organization's destruction and meticulously planned a coup, only to discover the reason behind everything was so simple. His brother, whom he had been bent on betraying, was still making arrangements for Lindsey's future even while cornered and on the brink of despair.

Lindsey felt nothing now but boundless guilt.

Amir was already firing as he moved toward 32.

The Grand Inquisitor was astonished the moment he laid eyes on 32. A lightsaber user? And a droid at that!

He searched his memory but found nothing. Was it just an ordinary person who found a Jedi's weapon?

But as soon as they engaged, he knew that wasn't the case.

32's form, trained by Obi-Wan, was already taking shape. With his consciousness connected to a mechanical body, he could execute moves with mathematical precision, bypassing the need for years of muscle memory training. Furthermore, his reaction speed, augmented by machinery, was far superior to Amir's.

It could be said that in a fair one-on-one fight, 32 had a solid chance of defeating an Imperial Inquisitor.

The Grand Inquisitor immediately concluded that 32 had undergone Jedi training—he was a Padawan, perhaps even a Knight!

Coupled with the auxiliary blasters on his mechanical arms, it was like having three sharpshooters providing close support, making it even more exhausting for the Inquisitor to cope.

Consequently, fighting while retreating, they actually reached a stalemate.

As a result, it was the Grand Inquisitor who grew anxious.

While hunting Jedi was a priority, it was a long-term goal; if he missed today, there was always tomorrow. But the mission to find the artifact had a deadline. Failure meant facing severe punishment! The mere thought made him shudder.

Consequently, the Grand Inquisitor pressed the attack, adopting an aggressive style to lock 32 down. The Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister immediately understood the cue, bypassed the duel, and rushed toward the blast door ahead.

32 wanted to stop them, but the Grand Inquisitor's explosive burst of power forced him to focus entirely on defense. He could only spare his mechanical arms to fire harassing shots at the departing pair.

"Everyone listen up! Whoever kills the Imperial Inquisitor gets half my fortune!" Nuludin shouted at the top of his lungs.

Only one in ten of his men remained, but they were the elite—hardened veterans who had brushed with death many times. They feared nothing. Provoking the Empire? Hah, they were already wanted in multiple systems.

Immediately, several gunmen shifted targets and opened fire at the Grand Inquisitor's back.

32 dodged helplessly. These people didn't care whose side the cyborg was on. If they destroyed a droid in the process of hitting the Inquisitor, so be it. They only cared about surviving to spend the reward.

But for 32, this was a blessing.

He was already close to the blast door, and this dodge took him right behind it.

Once behind the door, what else was there to do? Run!

By the time the Grand Inquisitor refocused, 32 was nowhere to be seen.

The furious Pau'an turned around, shifting his target to the mob behind him that had been hindering his progress.

Before completing the mission, he had to settle this score.

They had obstructed him from the very beginning—to what end?!

The final result would inevitably be him obtaining the item, while these idiots got nothing but death!

The culprit, that Rodian Nuludin, would bear his wrath today!

With a single glance, the Grand Inquisitor spotted the weak Rodian figure walking slowly toward him, firing continuously.

He activated the spinning mechanism of his double-bladed lightsaber. The crimson blades blurred into a disc, blocking every blaster bolt directed at him as he moved his arm.

In this situation, the spinning saber proved its worth.

Just as he was about to advance and hack off Nuludin's limbs to vent his anger, the Grand Inquisitor saw a figure in a helmet and trench coat approaching. The figure gently extended a right hand and made a flicking motion. Suddenly, the switch on his spinning lightsaber toggled off.

Grand Inquisitor: ???!!!

What the hell?!

He hurriedly rolled away, dodging the barrage of blaster fire, and reignited his lightsaber. He hadn't expected another Force user on the field, so he hadn't reinforced his grip on the weapon's internal mechanisms with the Force. The unguarded saber had been easily "invaded" by Amir.

Instantly exposed to a hail of gunfire, the Grand Inquisitor was nearly turned into a sieve.

"A Jedi?!"

Amir didn't answer; the dense volley of blaster fire was his only response.

Flustered and exasperated, the Grand Inquisitor leaped backward, retreating to the blast door.

But just as he arrived, the door behind him slammed shut again, trapping him inside the plaza!

At the same time, steel beams from the roof, scattered container parts, and even corpses on the ground were pulled by the Force, transforming into weapons that smashed toward him in a torrent.

The Grand Inquisitor could only swing his lightsaber wildly, raising weak Force barriers time and again to deflect the debris.

Everyone around was struck dumb by this sudden turn of events. Nuludin stared wide-eyed at Amir, his thoughts unreadable.

Amir wasn't overthinking it; he was creating as many obstacles as possible. An attack like this wouldn't defeat the Grand Inquisitor, but it was enough to trap him.

The Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister were already chasing Joan. With the outcome undecided, there was no need for him to waste more time here. He would leave the rest to Nuludin.

Amir turned and ran toward another blast door nearby.

. . .

After returning, Milisen didn't use the original entrance to the cells, as it was surely guarded by now. Instead, she took a different route along the rooftops. As she walked, she spotted a sneaky figure in the distance.

"Joan?"

She wanted to call out, but remembering this was the enemy's stronghold, she held her tongue.

Just as she was about to approach Joan, Joan suddenly threw a thermal detonator into a hole at her feet. After the explosion, which shook the roof twice, Joan jumped in.

Milisen watched Joan's operation in shock, then excitedly peered into the hole to watch the chaotic battle below. She wanted to jump down several times, but a bomb always interrupted her train of thought!
