Chapter 115 - Chapter 117: The Force Spirit, Qui-Gon Jinn

The nights on Tatooine were dry, but without the high heat of the day, they were just barely tolerable.

Several people listened intently. Even Milisen quieted down. She found this little green person very interesting; his way of speaking was funny, and the stories he told were fascinating.

And so, this night became Master Yoda's public lecture. Although this method of sitting in front of a machine and watching a recording brought back some bad memories from Amir's past life, he had to admit that Master Yoda's lecture was indeed interesting. History, which should have been the driest subject, was told by him vividly, full of ups and downs. He even left cliffhangers. Especially how he could leave a cliffhanger in one sentence... okay, that was just his inverted syntax.

Obi-Wan didn't listen for long. He was already familiar with the content and went to bed early. Kaiyin forced himself to listen for a long time, but still couldn't fight off sleep and went to the Traveler's large bed.

Amir and Milisen didn't stay there either. They returned to the ship with Kaiyin, listened for a while longer, and then went to bed to adjust.

In the morning, Kaiyin left a message saying he had things to do and left early. The remaining few gathered again at Obi-Wan's door. This time, Amir spoke with Obi-Wan alone about Milisen and 32's problems.

"Their dark Force is abnormal. People who fall to the dark side can possibly return to the light as their state of mind changes. But Milisen and 32's states of mind are almost fine, yet their dark Force is still dense," Obi-Wan analyzed.

"That's true. And Milisen has a history of her dark Force erupting..." Amir described the dark side power Milisen had displayed when facing John Morley in the lab.

"Triggered by emotion... How is Milisen's mood normally?"

"Her mood is usually within a normal range, with no signs of being guided by the dark Force," Amir said. Milisen was completely different from the Imperial Inquisitors he had seen. The Inquisitors exuded a mixed emotion of anger, pain, and desire, constantly churning under the guidance of the dark Force. But Milisen and 32's emotions were stable and peaceful.

"It seems the dark Force isn't guiding their emotions for now. That's good news. But when their own emotions erupt, the dark Force will be powerfully amplified," Obi-Wan said.

Amir thought for a moment and said, "It's as if their bodies determined they can only use the dark Force, and cannot convert to the light side."

Hearing Amir's words, Obi-Wan looked up. "You've reminded me, Amir. I have read records of beings who can only use the dark Force."

"That's unlikely, isn't it? There's no need to genetically force the Force to be dark." Amir felt it was unrealistic. They could have just guided them later to achieve their goal. There was no need to tamper with the genes, because the insertion of any single fragment would greatly reduce the success rate of cultivation.

"Mm... and those are just creatures from records. It's unknown if we can even find them." Obi-Wan once again fell into deep thought.

"Since there's no immediate harm, let's not worry about it for now. There will be a chance to understand it in the future. Who knows, it might be an ancient Sith taboo," Amir said helplessly.

"A Sith taboo? That's actually possible." Obi-Wan fell into deep thought yet again. "Wait. I don't know, but I can ask my master," Obi-Wan suddenly thought.

"Master Qui-Gon Jinn?"

"Yes. I am currently learning the method of becoming a Force Spirit from him," Obi-Wan said.

"Can I meet him?" Amir asked curiously.

Qui-Gon Jinn was an extremely charismatic Jedi. He was wise, loyal, and an excellent mentor. Obi-Wan had been his apprentice. Qui-Gon was unorthodox, even rebellious at times, often defying the Jedi dogma. After taking Anakin Skywalker from Tatooine, he insisted on training him as an apprentice, against the Jedi Council's wishes. But this did not affect his loyalty to the Jedi Order or his pursuit of the light side.

After being killed by Darth Maul, he successfully returned from the netherworld, becoming a Force Spirit, observing the world. It wasn't until the end of the Clone Wars that he finally found a way to contact the living world, made contact with Master Yoda, and even taught him the method of becoming a Force Spirit.

Not long ago, Obi-Wan and his former master had successfully met.

Amir greatly admired this legendary Jedi.

"He is always here," Obi-Wan said. "You will see him when you are ready. Master Qui-Gon is also very eager to meet you."

Alright, more cryptic stuff. Amir sensed the Force around him, gradually calming his thoughts. Just then, he suddenly discovered something strange.

It was like a form of the Force, but not a separate concentration of it. It was more like it had merged into the surrounding Force, become a part of it, and yet it possessed a mind and emotions.

If he had to name it, it was a soul. And that's what it was: a Force Spirit.

Amir opened his eyes. A translucent figure appeared on the clearing in front of him. Grayish-white long hair was draped back, connecting to a messy beard.

"Master Qui-Gon?" Amir asked.

"Ha. I didn't expect you to be able to see me so quickly." Qui-Gon smiled, like he was looking at a satisfactory junior.

"You see him?" Obi-Wan looked at Amir in surprise, then at Qui-Gon. "Oh! It took me more than ten years!"

Qui-Gon and Amir couldn't help but laugh.

"It seems I can teach both of you together."

"What are you talking about?! Did you see a ghost?" Just then, Milisen, who had been playing nearby, ran over, looked at Amir and Obi-Wan, and shouted in fear.

Obi-Wan smiled mischievously. "As a matter of fact, yes."

Milisen fled in terror.

"I still need to go check out the ruins on Hoth. When I get back, you have to save me a spot in your little class," Amir said.

He didn't plan to stay long this time. He would set off for Hoth immediately. The ruins on Hoth gave Amir a different feeling from the one on Adrian. The dark Force aura there worried him.

"Of course." Qui-Gon smiled. "I have no insights on the matter you were just discussing, but I will keep it in mind for you."

With that, Qui-Gon gave a slight wave and his form faded.

Another cool old man.

"It seems your strength has grown again. How about you let your master instruct you?" Obi-Wan spread his robes and said with a smile.

Why do I always feel like this old guy has ulterior motives?

"I'd be honored." Amir took out his lightsaber.

"Yeah! Are you going to fight? I want to watch from the side!" Milisen got excited.

"This is called sparring, little apprentice. You'd better watch closely," Obi-Wan said.

A moment later, the lightsabers of the two clashed in the clearing.
