Fugaku decided to move, away from Mikoto and the kids. He will be with Amaterasu 24×7 and protect him.
And Sasuke and Itachi will be safe from any accidents this way.
But he couldn't exactly just do it without it being a disgrace to Uchiha clan, can he? Wouldn't rumours spread that he is living separately with his wife and his own kids?
Naka Shrine will be too far, so he decided to build a shrine in the very centre of Uchiha clan. It isn't too far from his house, and not too close either. His own Susanoo wouldn't be able to reach the distance, and he had seen Amaterasu's too, so it should be relatively safe for this distance.
After giving the basic design plan to the Uchiha architect who built the Uchiha clan compound, he left for his police duty, with Amaterasu in tow.
Inside the Uchiha clan, the reactions were very mixed as building the 'Amaterasu Shrine' started.
Uchiha clan doesn't have any complex hierarchy like other clans. There is nothing like Elders or advisors. Only a Sharingan is needed to attend the clan meetings and every voice is listened. Though the last say stands with the clan head.
Since the founder of the clan, Uchiha Indra, was the believer of strength, everything is determined by strength. And Sharingan is the main factor in it.
Fugaku is undeniably the strongest in the Uchiha clan right now. Previous clan head recognised his talent early on and engaged his daughter Mikoto to him before the Third Ninja War became intense.
So Sasuke is Izuna's descendant.
Anyway, Amaterasu's status is very complex. He is a baby. So he doesn't have much strength. But he has Mangekyo Sharingan.
His extraordinary, even mythical birth did warrant for a shrine though.
Whether it is for worshipping a god, or for containing a demon who killed his mother in such a gruesome manner.
More people were believing he is a demon, even within the Uchiha clan.
Especially Uchiha Kiyama.
A young bachelor who just turned 19. He had his eyes set on Michiko, the mother of the demon.
Ever since her husband died, he had been taking care of her the most. Taking her to the hospital, cooking for her whenever he came back from his missions, and even begged to his cousin who is a retired genin to be her maid and help her in household chores.
He has just arrived in the village after a mission, which was supposed to be his Jonin promotion exam.
"Kiyama, the client was very satisfied with the completion of mission. Congratulations, you are a Jonin now. Report to Jonin headquarters tomorrow and collect your Jonin vest."
"Thank you Hokage-sama."
He said it, but he wasn't happy about it. Not one bit.
He was planning to impress Michiko. That he is finally a Jonin, just like her. And then, propose to her.
But when he returned, her death, and how she died reached his ears. Everyone talked about it.
And since most don't know about Susanno, the black, intense chakra construct was called a demon.
He wanted to be the stepfather of Michiko's child. But Michiko was gone. Because of that demon child.
His two-tomoe Sharingan evolved into three-tomoe.
As he was about to leave, Hiruzen said to him, "Don't hate Michiko's child. Please go and visit him."
How could he not!?
"Yes, Hokage-sama."
He kept his emotions in check in front of Hiruzen, and left.
Hiruzen obviously noticed it, but just sighed and returned to his paperwork. Glaring at the peace treaty draft that Kumo has sent.
Not ceasefire, but a peace treaty. And not just any peace treaty. But one done under the presence of the daimyos of both Land of Fire and Land of Lightning.
Of course, in ninja world, peace treaty was just a piece of paper. But after the long Third Ninja War, the daimyos' funding is very important for several years.
Such a treaty, just like with Suna and Iwa, will mean that Konoha will be at peace for a decade atleast.
Such a nice offer, but with one glaring condition.
They want to have Dodai's granddaughter, who was born around a 6-7 months ago, to be engaged to Uchiha Amaterasu.
As if that isn't enough, the draft proposal has been 'leaked' in Kumo by a 'traitor' who got executed by Raikage.
It is obviously a setup from Kumo's side to create pressure. In a day or two, everyone in Konoha will know about this too.
Kumo will benefit from this, no matter the outcome.
If Konoha denies it, Kumo will spread the message that Konoha is the one which wants tensions to continue. This might lead to not only funds coming from Daimyo to cut a lot, but also drift between the village and Uchiha clan escalating.
Everyone will blame Uchiha clan for not accepting it.
And if Konoha agrees to it, it will give Kumo the ability to directly influence that kid, who has the highest bounty in the black market currently.
And the other outcome is Amaterasu getting assassinated before the discussions start. Which will also be beneficial for Kumo because it will eliminate Konoha's future powerhouse.
It seems like Third Raikage isn't as much of a meathead like his father was.
Still, Konoha doesn't have anything to lose here, only Uchiha clan. It's either they tie down their so-called son of god with Kumo's chief advisor's granddaughter, or become the reason for the peace treaty not coming to fruition.
Hiruzen decided to inform Fugaku about this and leaving the decision about whether to accept the engagement or not upto him. He decided to take his hands off the hot potato.
Meanwhile, this also gives a cover about why someone will try to assassinate Amaterasu. To stop Konoha and Kumo achieving peace. It can be any other village to take the blame.
Or it can be just someone like Uchiha Kiyama overcome with grief of Amaterasu's mother and killing him to get revenge.
He shook his head. No matter how dangerous, a newborn child is just a child. He should stop thinking about eliminating the problem, and with Will of Fire, have Amaterasu protect the village.
First Hokage brought so many clans together, even Uchiha. Though Madara later betrayed the village and tried to destroy it.
He should be able to instill Will of Fire in a child whose name is literally Amaterasu.
If Naruto is able to reach the heights of Minato, and combine it with his really high chakra, his mother's Kekkai Genkai, and control the Nine-tails like Killer Bee controls the Eight-tails, there is a chance that he might be able to subdue Amaterasu in the future if he becomes a threat.
They may even become a strong duo who will ensure that no other village can even have the guts to attack Konoha again.
He tried to think positively and push aside his dark thoughts from before, when he was consumed by fear of someone worse than Madara destroying Konoha.
Nothing bad will happen.
