Chapter 2 - Turn 2:Welcome to Duel Academia! Hero vs. Hero!

Duel Academia.

One of the best academies in the world when it came to the game of Duel Monsters. All around the world, aspiring duelists attend this prestigious school for three years, in hopes of becoming a Pro Duelist and enter the Pro League.

*HUURRRRRRRGG!*

…most of them…

As the ship holding the newest batch of students was slowly arriving at its destination, a young man ran straight for the starboard side of the ship. His unkempt grayish hair currently hid his red eyes, with a small scar present on his right eye. His wolf tooth necklace dangled around his neck, while keeling over and hurling his lunch.

"Ugh. I hate… boats…" he groaned.

"Whoa there, you okay?"

The person asking the puking teen was another teen with brown hair that's medium-length, the side bangs spiked downward reaching just below his neck while the top was puffed and the back of his hair was one curve. His brown eyes are positioned directly beneath the bangs of the layer closest to his face.

"Ugh, I'll live." The young man groaned. "Urp… oh no, not again-"

*HUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGG!*

"Easy now. We're about to make it to port on the island soon, so hang in there." The brown-haired teen smiled sympathetically.

"Please… get me off this metal deathtrap!" The young man pleaded to the heavens.

"Here, take these." Another young boy offered, approaching him with two pills in hand. He was shorter than the other two boys, and had very light blue hair, sectioned in three layers. His gray eyes were positioned between the three bangs closest to his face and behind a pair of round-lensed glasses. "These should help offset your sea sickness."

"Gee, thanks." The young man said before swallowing them, "Ugh, I feel like a turtle stuck on a turntable in the middle of rush hour." He grumbled, "I hate getting on boats."

"You could've taken the helicopter." The sky blue-haired teen pointed out.

"Wish I could…" the young man groaned, "Don't ask me why, it's a long story."

"Well, it shouldn't be long now. And when we get there, I'm gonna be on my way to becoming the next Duel King!" The brown-haired teen declared.

"Who are you supposed to be? Yugi?" The young man snarked.

"Pffft, nah, though it would be cool if I was!" The brown-haired teen grinned widely and laughed, causing the gray-haired teen to sweat drop. "The name's Yuki Judai, by the way!"

"Okay then…" the young man said before they shook hands, "Rex Taylor, I guess."

"And I'm Marafuji Sho, nice to meet you." The sky blue-haired teen introduced.

"Charmed." Rex noted before he noticed something odd. There was a strange ghost of what looked to be a brown fur ball with wings flying around Judai. Rex rubbed his eyes to check if he wasn't seeing things.

While the young man looked like he was on the verge of insanity, Judai noticed the bewildered look on Rex's face.

"Uhh, is there something in my hair?" He asked.

"Huh? No. Just… thought I saw something. Must be my imagination." The young man denied. While Judai shrugged it off, Sho was a bit suspicious.

"Speaking of seeing, did you just see that Duel that just happened?!" Judai asked excitedly. "They're kinda like my Elemental HEROes! They looked so cool and awesome!"

"You mean that Deck user with the chalkboard screaming dragon? Yeah I saw…" Rex grumbled while cleaning his ear, "That thing interrupted my nap, and no one messes with my naps! It's the only way I could actually get through being on this thing! When I see that guy, I'm gonna-". He soon began to make a motion of strangling him. It was clear that he wasn't happy with being woken up.

"Whoa, hold on. You don't need to resort to violence." Sho placated, waving his hands frantically. "Let's be reasonable-"

*CRACK!*

"Reasonable…?" Rex mumbled darkly, his right eye twitching slightly, "YOU WANT REASONABLE?!"

Judai and Sho stepped back in fear as Rex's shivering smile and twitching eyes made the young man look almost deranged.

Then that smile turned into a snarl…

"LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, YUKI JUDAI AND MARUFUJI SHO!"

From there, Rex began to scream an entire tirade filled with swears so vile and euphemisms so crude that Judai covered Sho's ears in an attempt to save whatever innocence the boy had left. He was already long gone in that department so he tried his best to protect Sho's mind from the devastation. Not to mention that everyone present and around him gradually turned paler and blue in the face by the second while the young man continued his verbal rampage.

The rant would be shown, but it would bump up the fanfic's content rating straight into NC-17 territory.

"THAT'S WHY WHEN I SEE THAT PUNK AGAIN, I'M SENDING HIS BUTT TO THE EXTINCT SPECIES LIST!" Rex soon finished his rant and took a deep breath.

The brunette teen finally removed his hands from Sho's ears, the auditory horror show was over.

"Uh… you cool?" Judai hesitantly asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It happens sometimes…" the young man reassured him, his rage finally boiling down, "Trust me, take one walk into Brooklyn and you'll hear something similar from the folks there."

"…note to self: never get Rex angry." The brunette muttered.

Sho could only nod furiously. "Brooklyn Rage is scary. Very scary." he muttered in fear.

"Anyways, I'm gonna take a walk. Get some air and whatnot." Rex noted before he left, "Good luck on that Duel King dream and all, Judai!"

"Huh… weird guy…" Judai commented, the fuzzball ghost unseen by him cowering behind him, covering its whole body with its wings.

The cruise ship finally arrived at the island port, its motors coming to a full stop, then weighing anchor after. Moments later, the newly inducted students filed towards the port side's exit of the ship in an orderly fashion, while crew members gathered their belongings that will be sent to their dorm rooms. Once the ramp was placed and secured, everyone on board disembarked, including Kuromu and his friends, as well as an all too eager Rex.

"Land, sweet land!" The young man cheered, embracing the ground, "I'm happy to stand on good ol' Terra Firma again!"

"Is that cool cat okay?" Koji raised an eyebrow, watching Rex hug the ground like it had saved his life.

"He must have been seasick the whole trip." Rika pondered. "I would be kissing the ground too, but then again, I don't get seasick."

"I guess some people hate traveling by boat." Kuromu shrugged.

Once all of the new batch of students were on land, one of its staff members guided them towards the school. They crossed a long bridge, followed by an unnecessarily long winding road, before finding themselves on the path that led to the school, giving them their first true look at it.

It was silver in color, surrounded by four obelisks, and one that was slightly leaning. The main building was a big cylindrical structure, covered by a white dome. In front of it were three smaller cylindrical structures; blue, yellow, and red, going diagonally down. The entrance to the school was protected by white flying buttresses, supporting the front and holding four smaller pillars in place. The courtyard leading to the main building was decorated by a wide steel path adorned by stone rectangular statues that featured various Duel Monsters.

Almost all of the new students looked on in awe of the scale and grandeur of the building.

Upon entering the building, more staff members of the school greeted them, giving each student an Academia issued Duel Disk and student PDA. Students are also assigned to their dorms depending on when they took their written exams and were given corresponding Duel Academia jackets. Because of how the students were separated into three dorms, there had been a large number of social discrimination cases between them. Something that Kuromu didn't take too kindly.

Obelisk Blue is the highest of the three dorms. The reason for its superiority over the other two goes back to the fact that Kaiba Seto is the owner of the school. And that he owned "Giant God Soldier of Obelisk", during Battle City. Students in this dorm have wealth and connections, being offered high-quality rooming and finer foods. These amenities also made most students in this dorm arrogant and overconfident, looking down on the two other dormitories that were beneath them.

Ra Yellow is the second highest of three, named after the "Winged God Dragon of Ra", originally owned by Marik Ishtar, whom Kaiba didn't care much for. Students in Ra Yellow either achieved excellent scores in their Entrance Exams, moved up from Osiris Red, or down from Obelisk Blue. The accommodations are better than Osiris Red but not as good as Obelisk Blue. Students in this dorm are known to be smart and cunning, which was one of Marik's defining traits.

Osiris Red, the lowest of the three, was named after "Osiris, the Heaven Dragon", originally owned by Muto Yugi. This was due to Kaiba's rivalry with Yugi, having lost to him time and time again. Students in this dorm receive most if all forms of social discrimination from the higher dorms. They often have weak Decks and poor strategies that lead to many defeats, earning them the nickname of "Osiris Slackers", under the mindset that they weren't even trying to win. Worst yet, is that they have little to no privileges out of the other two. The only redeeming factor was that students in this dorm tend to bear a similar mindset to Yugi: having the courage, confidence, and determination to win, even if the odds were against them.

Kuromu was disgusted by the status quo. The school was built so that all students would equally receive the best education it had to offer, no matter what dorm they were in. Granted, there were some people that shouldn't pick up a Deck or Duel Disk, but that was what the Entrance Exams were for. Unfortunately, some people don't see that and only care about their public image, equality and morals be damned.

But now wasn't the time for such things. He has to go through orientation and settle into his new room, before knocking those elitists off their high horses. Hopefully, he'll serve them a huge slice of humble pie while he's at it.

With a sigh, determination filled his veins as Kuromu slipped on the jacket. Once the blazer was on, the young man looked at himself in the mirror.

"Alright, not bad." He nodded.

He then walked out and joined the rest of the new students, who were then led towards one of the classrooms, styled like a lecture hall. They stood in front of a monitor with the Duel Academia logo, which then disappeared as an older man with a bald head and graying goatee appeared, a bright and cheerful smile on his face.

'That must be the Principal.' Kuromu thought.

["Welcome, my elite duelists."] The bald man greeted. ["I am Principal Samejima. You all made it here by opening our narrow gate with your skill. Please enjoy your studies, and dream of becoming the future Duel King. As new students, you'll need to know several things about us. We'll begin with our orientation video. Afterwards, once you've settled into your new dorms, you're free to explore around the island, as long as you don't trespass anywhere you're not supposed to. Afterwards, you are to return to your dorms at 6 PM for your Welcome Dinners! Without further ado, here is our orientation video!"]

The film for the orientation video began rolling, as soon as Samejima finished his speech. It wasn't anything fancy, as it was about the history of the school and how Kaiba started it all. It then went on to a few highlights and outlined the curriculum students would be expected to complete if they were to advance to the next year. Once the video was over, the students dispersed and were given the chance to have free time to themselves before the Welcome Dinners. It was here that Kuromu, Rika, and Koji met up with each other.

"So? What do you guys think?" Rika asked the boys.

"Well, it's definitely impressive, that's for sure." Kuromu commented.

"With state-of-the-art facilities, cribs for us to crash in, and the staff being the best in the entire country! Kaiba spared no expense!" Koji added.

"Glad you two like it." Rika grinned.

"At any rate, I'm gonna head over to Ra Yellow and set everything up, before I do anything else." Kuromu said. "What are you two gonna do?"

"I'll be checking out more of the island, and maybe head down to the beach and chat up with some Foxy Mamas." Koji grinned widely.

"Of course you would do that…" Rika sweat dropped. "As for me, I'm gonna be prepping the Welcome Dinners for Obelisk Blue."

"You could do that?" Kuromu blinked.

"Since I'm part of the business class, it's mandatory that I assist the staff members." Rika replied. "But don't worry, I'll make sure to save you some, if you ever visit." She winked.

"Sweet. Looking forward to your cooking."

With grins, the three of them fist-bumped and departed towards their separate destinations.

Kuromu was met with the sight of a yellow building with a forest green roof on top upon his arrival. It was decorated by a few bushes on one side of the building with stairs on that same side. To the right of the dorm was a gazebo where students can hang out and relax, looking at the view of the ocean. Nodding to himself, Kuromu entered the building, seeing the lobby and lounge area, as well as a pair of double doors that led to the cafeteria on the far left side.

Moving towards the reception desk, Kuromu was given the key to his room. He eventually found his luggage at the dorm room he will stay at, the door number ID'd as '555B'.

He unlocked the door with his key and Kuromu was met by a nice room whose walls were white. It was complete with a full sized bed, dresser, and closet, accompanied by a good-sized desk with a computer and lamp. The window has a nice view outside, and the room even had a small fridge and stove for cooking.

"Not bad. Just like home." Kuromu said with a smile.

Within a span of several minutes, he placed various posters on the wall, hung all of his clothes in his closet that included the extra blazers and pants, and placed all of his underwear, undershirts, and socks in the drawer. "There, all set!"

"Well, well, I guess we're neighbors." A familiar voice called out. Kuromu looked towards the doorway and looked surprised at who he saw.

"Misawa-san!" he recognized.

"Well met, I see you have been placed in the same dorm as me after all."

"Yeah, for sure. We'll be seeing each other a lot more often." Kuromu nodded. "I'm guessing you've already settled in?"

"Very much so. I can assume you've done the same?" Misawa answered.

Kuromu nodded, "Got everything done within the hour."

"Excellent. Now we can use this time to familiarize ourselves with the island's topography before our Welcome Dinners."

"Sounds good to me." Kuromu grinned. He then went over to his desk, to pick up his Academia-issued Duel Disk and his Deck Box off of it, equipping the machine to his left arm and sliding the Deck Box to the right side of his belt after. "Maybe I can get in a Duel or two while I'm at it."

"Well, happy hunting to you." Misawa smirked.

On the way, Kuromu wanted to check the Osiris Red dorm. After a bit of hiking from Ra Yellow, Kuromu found his way on the path to said. However, he frowned upon seeing the place. It looked like a two-story apartment complex, or rather, it looked like a two-story motel with a red roof on top with a stairwell on the side. But at least it had the best view of the ocean.

"Man, they really have it bad out here…" Kuromu commented, with pity. And it was true. No one should be living in this sorry state of a dorm. The inhabitants deserve better than this.

"Hey!"

Kuromi looked up and saw a brunette-haired boy waving at him from the second floor. It was Judai.

"Uh… hey." Kuromu waved.

"You're the guy with those cool heroes, right?!" Judai smiled widely.

"Uh, yeah, that's me." Kuromu blinked.

The Osiris Red duelist smiled even wider, "Wanna-"

"Aniki, help!" The two heard Sho cry out.

Looking towards the young boy's direction, Judai's face paled as they saw a snarling Rex trudging towards him with Sho getting dragged along.

"I can't hold him back!" Sho wailed.

Rex then gripped Kuromu by the jacket and lifted him in the air, much to the latter's surprise and shock.

"H-Hey! What-"

"I GOT A BONE TO PICK WITH YOU!" Rex growled with a sadistic growl, "So, you're the cub with the assault on the ears, eh?"

"H-Hey, big guy. Calm down." Judai tried to tell him to no avail.

"LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, YA PRICK!"

5 minutes later…

"SO THE NEXT TIME YOU INTERRUPT MY NAP, I'M GOING TO TEAR OFF YOUR [bleep] AND SHOVE THEM RIGHT UP YOUR [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] AND THEN [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] ON YOUR [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] WITH [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] IN THE [bleep] [bleep] AND [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] YOUR [bleep] [bleep] [bleep] SO THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO [bleep] SIDEWAYS! GOT THAT?!"

Rex eventually sighed and let go of the boy, done with his loud tirade.

Kuromu looked like he had his soul exorcized, his face and body white as a sheet of paper and barely moving. It was then and there that the new Ra student fell on his back, staring at the sky. For a moment, he thought he saw his soul almost leaving his body, barely hanging on by the edge of his mouth.

"Uwhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…" Sho had turned pale so bad, covering his ears to avoid hearing Rex roar such filthy language. That didn't stop him from crying waterfall tears from just how terrifying he was.

"Dude, you need to go to anger management…" Judai said dryly.

"I have, I just have… minor triggers." Rex admitted.

Judai felt a bead of sweat go down his face. If this was minor, he can't imagine what would count as major.

"Oh dear-nya, what's with all the yelling-nya?"

The three Osiris Red students turned to see an adult with long black hair, wearing thin framed glasses, and a smile that seemed to be reassuring.

"All I heard was… raw and unfiltered language for five minutes straight-nya. So much that my cat had to hide under my desk-nya." The man known as Daitokuji-sensei frowned in concern, making Rex flinch.

"Huh, Okay then?" He denied with shifty eyes.

"That was you-nya?"

"Nope." Another lie, one that Judai and Sho unexpectedly backed up.

"Uwhaaaaa…" Kuromu groaned, while still laying on the ground, dazed.

"Huh, I see…" Daitokuji observed, before approaching Rex, placing a hand on the boy's shoulder… albeit tightly. The foreigner tried to keep a straight face, but given how strong the adult's grip was, he was gradually faltering.

'He's/I'm in trouble…' the Osiris Red trio thought.

"Are you sure about that-nya?" Daitokuji asked.

Rex wordlessly nodded, in spite of the pain. After observing him for a moment, the professor let go of his shoulder.

"Okay then. Just know that you kids shouldn't resort to that kind of vulgar language-nya." The professor said,

"Crystal, sir." The trio affirmed before he walked off.

Rex breathed a large sigh of relief, 'Whew, I can still study here. I really don't want to tell ma or pa that I got the boot on the first day.' He thought to himself.

"Hey, you alright?" Judai asked, approaching Kuromu and helping him up.

"Yeah… I think so…" Kuromu murmured. "Maybe… I should come back another time…" He said, slowly turning around.

"Aw come on, I wanted to Duel you!"

"Heh… sorry. I don't think I should… not in front of him anyway…" Kuromu laughed weakly, before slowly walking off.

When Kuromu returned to the Ra Yellow dorm, Misawa was shocked to see the boy's current state.

"Did something happen on the way to the dorm?"

"Oh nothing… just got chewed out by an Osiris Red for five minutes about our Duel on the ship when Dragredder was out. And the next time I interrupted his nap, he was going to…" He shivered before he could finish that sentence.

"Going to what?"

Kuromu then proceeded to repeat the threat the rough American had told him in great detail. Needless to say, Misawa shivered at the description.

"Americans…" He could only answer.

"New Yorkers really, he definitely had the mouth of one." Kuromu muttered. "Brooklyn Rage…"

"I-In any case, I'm sure that it was only one incident." Misawa reassured him.

"You and me both…" Kuromu agreed.

"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!"

Kuromu and Misawa turned to see Judai running towards the Ra boys.

"Aniki, wait up!" Sho called out as he wasn't too far behind… followed by Rex. Kuromu grew significantly pale and was about to run off.

"Wait, don't run!" Judai called out, prompting the Kamen Rider duelist to stop in his tracks, "We got something to say to ya!"

Rex looked away in an embarrassed manner, "Listen. Sorry about yelling at ya earlier." He apologized, "Honestly I just needed to let off some steam and… it wasn't right to load it off on you." He then bowed, "Please forgive me…"

"…Eh?" Kuromu looked flabbergasted.

"C-Come on man, I'm not really used to apologizing!" Rex admitted, "And besides, we're all rookies anyways so I'd rather us get along than be at each other's throats." He thought to himself, 'I got enough of that at home…'

Kuromu looked at Misawa. "He seems sincere enough." He shrugged.

The Kamen Rider duelist looked back at Rex before sighing, "Alright, I forgive ya, just… don't yell at me like that again."

"Aye aye, captain." He said, relieved.

"Great! Now that that's water under the bridge," Judai grinned, then took out his Disk. The machine was already attached to his arm and his Deck already in the Deck Slot, "Let's Duel!"

*GRUMBLE!*

"How about a quick bite first?" Rex pointed out, "You haven't eaten anything since we got here."

"Good thing I have these." Kuromu said, pulling out several energy bars. "These should last us until the Welcome Dinner." He said, before giving Judai, Sho, and Rex a few, before taking his own share. He offered one to Misawa, but the intellectual duelist politely declined.

"Gee, thanks!" Judai cheered before taking a bite. A few minutes later, everyone with energy bars had their fill. "Alright, I'm good to go."

"Any idea where we could Duel though?" Kuromu pondered. "There should be some kind of Duel Arena we could use."

"There is one nearby." Misawa pointed out to the group, gesturing a finger to the school. "Inside Duel Academia. It's the perfect spot for a Duel."

"Sweet! Lead the way then!" Judai grinned.

The group soon arrived at an open Duel Arena where in front of them, was a stage that was oval in shape, which looked to be state-of-the-art. The lines were also drawn of where the Monster and Spell/Trap Zones were, and even a space for the Duelists themselves to stand on. Finishing the look was the surrounding area filled with empty seats where spectators can watch the Duels from a safe distance. And there were two titantron screens, one on each end of the Duel Arena.

"Whoa… check it out…" Sho gasped in awe.

"Not bad." Rex whistled. "Kaiba spared no expense making everything look good."

With bated breath, both Kuromu and Judai took their places while the rest took a seat.

"Hope you brought your A-game!" Judai declared with a smirk.

"You as well." Kuromu smirked back, but then realized something, "Oh right. I never told you my name, did I? It's always courteous to know the name of your opponent, after all."

"The name's Yuki Judai, and you're looking at the next Duel King!" Judai declared with a huge smile.

"And I'm Kururugi Kuromu. We'll see if you're Duel King material or not." Kuromu said. Both Duelists then placed their Decks in their Duel Disk, which then activated. Both of them then drew their Starting Hands.

"DUEL!"

Judai: 4000

Kuromu: 4000

"I'll start things off! Draw!" Judai declared, drawing his sixth card. Looking at his Hand and what he drew, he began making plans for this first Turn. After moments of deliberation, he made his move.

"Alright, let's start things off small." Judai declared as he placed down a card, "I summon Elemental HERO Featherman in ATK Position!"

Coming onto the field was a muscular man covered in green feathers from head to toe. The man's hair also seemed to be made from the same feather while wearing a red mask covering his eyes. He has talon-like claws on top of one of his fists, has a pair of large red-colored talons for feet, and a pair of white feathered wings on his back to finish off his look. (3/ATK: 1000/DEF: 1000)

"Guess I'm not the only one with superheroes as an archetype." Kuromu observed.

"Then I'm gonna throw a face-down. Ta-n endo." Judai said, placing said card in one of the slots, and the reverse side of said card appeared, "You're up, Kuromu!"

"Alright then, get ready! Because you're about to experience the Kamen Riders firsthand! O-re no ta-n!" Kuromu declared, drawing his sixth card. Looking over his options, he finally decided what he wanted to play. "Here goes! I summon Kamen Rider Den-O in ATK mode!" He declared, slapping the card onto the tray. At first nothing happened, until they heard the sound of an electronic keyboard tune.

"Wait, where's the monster?" Rex asked as he looked at the board.

SWORD FORM!

Motes of light spread out on one space of the board before converging to reveal a man in a black bodysuit with a chest plate that is black and white with the white parts higher up with a silver line in the center that looks like train tracks. The helmet has a silver line running down the middle with a silver mouth plate and black eyes. There was also a belt on his waist that had a red, blue, yellow, and purple next to a circle that had a V with a tip pointing to his right.

Then all of a sudden, pieces of armor started appearing in rainbow light around him as train tracks briefly spun around said person. Two red pieces attached themselves to his chest while yellow and black pieces were stuck to his back. Plain red and white shoulder plates appeared on his shoulders while what looked like a red metal peach came sliding over his face from the back of his head. When it came into a position it split in half with the points extending before attaching itself to his face as a new visor. (4/ATK: 1800/DEF: 1000)

"Woah, not bad!" Judai complimented the Rider duelist.

"Battle! Kamen Rider Den-O attacks Elemental HERO Featherman! Extreme Slash!"

With that, the train Rider quickly pulled off the four pieces hanging off his belt and assembled them into a sword configuration. Afterwhich, Den-O then waved a pass over the belt.

FULL CHARGE!

The sword then separates from the hilt, which now hovered above, then Den-O waved the hilt around, the blade mimicking his movements as said blade slashed Featherman three times, one from the left, then to the right, before finally slashing downward, causing a dramatic explosion.

Judai slid back as he felt the damage.

Judai: 3200

Kuromu: 4000

"I activate my face down! Hero Signal!" Judai declared as the facedown card lifted up to reveal a spell card that depicted a beacon lighting up with a stylized 'H'. Said card then sent out the signal with the same 'H' that lit up the ceiling of the arena. "When you destroy an Elemental HERO, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or Lower Elemental HERO from my Hand or Deck!"

"Which one will you choose?" Kuromu asked.

"I'll Special Summon Elemental HERO Clayman from my Deck in DEF Position!" Judai declared. Taking the card from his Deck, he slapped it onto the tray and a large bulky clay-like superhero with a red circular helmet materialized before kneeling down. (4/ATK: 800/DEF: 2000)

"Great…" Kuromu grunted, before looking at his Hand to figure out his next move. "Moving onto Main Phase 2, I activate Den-O's special ability. I add 1 Spell Card with "Form Change" in its name from my Deck to my Hand. Sadly I can't activate any card with that name until my next turn's Main Phase." he said, before taking out his deck, and choosing one card. "I choose Form Change - Rod Form." He said, before adding it and shuffling his Deck. "Then I'll place one card face-down. Ta-n endo." He said, before setting a card down.

"Not bad, using Hero Signal to bring up his defenses." Rex commented.

"Indeed. Elemental HEROes, if they are in the hands of the right user, can be a force to be reckoned with." Misawa added.

"Yosh, my time to shine! O-re no ta-n! Draw!" Judai cheered before drawing a card. He then looked at his current hand and then at Den-O, 'Alright, what to do?'

His Clayman had higher defense but it won't last forever. He had a few ideas on how to beat the Rider and one particular HERO was eager to make their move.

"First, from my Hand, I summon Elemental HERO Sparkman in ATK Mode!" Judai declared, playing the mentioned monster onto his Duel Disk.

Materializing in a burst of light mixed with electricity is a masculine HERO clad in a navy blue bodysuit with yellow lightning bolt accents, golden yellow armor with what seemed like electric generators, and a full-faced opaque blue helmet with golden antenna on the sides as the new warrior landed with a mighty cry, eager to avenge his fellow HERO. (4/ATK: 1600/DEF: 1400)

"Eh?" Sho exclaimed in shock. "But that monster is weaker than Den-O!"

Rex furrowed his brow, "Something tells me that Judai wouldn't make such a move unless he had a plan to defeat Kuromu's monster."

Judai decided to make that move known by playing another card, "Then I activate the Equip Magic card, Spark Gun!" As he said this, a high-tech gun with wires materialized in Sparkman's right hand as the Elemental HERO aimed the weapon at Den-O. "This card can only be equipped to Sparkman and it has a pretty sweet effect. You see, during my Main Phase, I can change the battle position of one face-up monster on the field!"

"Wait, what?!" Kuromu gawked.

"Aha, see? I told ya the kid had a plan." Rex smirked.

"Sparkman, take aim and fire at Kamen Rider Den-O!" Judai commanded his HERO with a confident grin. Sparkman followed the order, firing a bullet of pure electricity at the Kamen Rider, striking him as he… comically started flinching from the amount of electricity coursing through his body to the point it even showed his skeleton. Den-O shook a bit before landing on his back and on the horizontal image of his own card. Judai winced, "That looked like it hurt."

"Uh… you okay, Den-O?" Kuromu asked carefully. Surprisingly, despite the armored train rider being on his back, he somehow responded by raising his arm and giving a thumbs-up.

"Battle!" Judai declared, grinning widely as he gestured ahead. "Elemental HERO Sparkman attacks Kamen Rider Den-O! Spark Flash!"

Sparkman reared back his arm as electricity crackled in his palm, before sending said electricity towards the train-themed Rider.

"I won't allow it! Trap card, activate!" Kuromu declared, pressing a button, revealing a trap depicting a futuristic bullet speeding on the tracks through a desert. "DenLiner Rescue! If a Kamen Rider is about to be destroyed in battle, I can negate that attack and return that Kamen Rider back to my Hand!"

Everyone then heard the sound of a train whistle echoing, prompting the Judai and the onlookers to wonder where it was coming from. They got their answer when a portal opened up in midair and… a bullet train with Den-O's mask came flying out of it?!

"EEEHHHHH!?" Everyone, save for Kuromu and Judai, exclaimed with eyes the size of dinner plates.

"HIT THE DECK!" Rex shouted.

The DenLiner came straight for the onlookers who all then dropped to the ground as the train drove above them. It then turned to block the electric attack, reducing to a spark, before Den-O managed to get up on his feet and board the train.

With one final whistle, the DenLiner took off, the portal opening as it went in, then closed after.

"Well… that was awkward." Judai admitted sheepishly, while Sparkman deflated after missing his target.

"That train nearly ran us over, you moron!" Rex, Sho, and Misawa roared in anger.

"You do realize that it's still holographic projections at the end of the day, right?" Kuromu noted dryly, before sighing, "Anyways, anything else you wanna do Judai?"

Judai sighed in disappointment, "Only thing I can do is this. I place one card face-down. Ta-n endo."

"O-re no ta-n!" Kuromu declared, drawing his next card, increasing his Hand from six to seven. "First, I'll summon Kamen Rider Den-O back to the Field in ATK mode!" He said, as the Rider showed up once more after his transformation (4/ATK: 1800/DEF: 1000). "Next, since I control no other Monsters than Kamen Rider Den-O, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Kamen Rider Monster from my Hand, so come on out Kamen Rider Kiva!"

All of a sudden, a hypnotic sonar noise echoed, causing the group to cover their ears.

"Egads, what is that sound?" Misawa groaned.

"Not as bad as that dragon's screech, but dang it's annoying!" Rex growled.

Soon quicksilver appeared, morphing and shaping itself into a warrior as it then shattered to reveal the armor.

Kiva was clad in a full black bodysuit, the torso armor looked like a silver vest with a high collar and a blood red chest plate that mimicked muscles. The shoulder armor resembled folded bat wings that were held to the armor by thin chains. They wore red armored gloves and the wrists sported silver bracelets, as the right leg was covered with a silver iron boot that reached his knee and was wrapped tightly with chains, as if to hold something back. The left leg was unarmored save for a silver bracelet around the ankle. Their head was covered with a black helmet with the visor shaped like a pair of yellow bat wings edged in red. In between the top points of the wings was a red ornament, resembling a bat's head. The mouth guard was silver and framed by black fangs. On his belt was a golden bat hanging upside down with red eyes, and on the side were six whistle-like items. (4/ATK: 1700/DEF: 1500)

"Whoa, that's a pretty cool hero you got there!" Judai complimented, giving Kiva a thumbs-up. "Kinda reminds me of a Halloween movie monster!"

"Well, he is based on several Halloween related things, but I digress. Moving on, next I activate the Spell Card, Form Change - Rod! Now I can have Kamen Rider Den-O change into an alternate form!" He said as the train themed Rider pressed a blue button and an aquatic tune played before scanning the pass.

ROD FORM!

Sword Form's armor burst out then spun to a different configuration. The red chest plates were now aimed at his back while the yellow and black ones were hovering over his chest. It then opened from the middle to reveal blue armor that was his new chest plates and shoulder pads that were thick. With a loud clunk, the armor attached itself to his body. The final touch was a blue turtle with silver fins coming down the center of his face. The turtle then split down the middle to reveal two orange hexagonal eyepieces. The two turtle pieces attached themselves to the sides of his head before twisting so that the front turtle fins were pointing behind him.

"That…is the coolest thing I've ever seen." Judai said with awe.

"But you know what's not cool for you? Is that when Den-O is equipped with this form, he can take a face-down Spell/Trap card on your Field, and put it to my side!"

"EH?!"

Den-O then reconfigured the DenGasher to be in its staff form, before quite literally fishing for said Spell/Trap card and placing it on Kuromu's side.

"Thanks for the card, Judai. I'll put it to good use later." Kuromu grinned. "Now let's continue, I activate the Field Spell: Kamen Rider City!"

Multiple buildings suddenly erupted from the ground, before finding themselves in the middle of a city street similar to that of the Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo. However, the main difference is that the taller buildings have strange symbols plastered on top of them in neon lighting.

"Whoa, this whole field is just like Aniki's!" Sho said with awe.

"And it has a couple of effects. First, all Kamen Riders on the Field, get a 300 ATK boost!" Kuromu declared, as Den-O and Kiva powered up.

Kamen Rider Den-O (ATK: 1800-2100)

Kamen Rider Kiva (ATK: 1700-2000)

"That's not good." Judai commented yet he never lost his grin.

"Battle! Kamen Rider Den-O attacks Elemental HERO Clayman! Den Rider Kick!"

Den-O took the pass into his hand and scanned it on the belt.

FULL CHARGE!

Blue electricity crackled along the DenGasher in its staff mode as he threw it as Clayman. When it made contact, it turned into a paralyzing blue hexagonal symbol, stunning the earth-themed HERO. Den-O then jumped up and dived down for his Rider Kick, shattering the hexagonal symbol and Clayman.

"Clayman!" Judai called out to his fallen HERO after bracing himself when the holographic shards forced him to shield his face.

"Now Kamen Rider City's effect activates! When I destroy a Monster by battle, I can Special Summon a Kamen Rider from my Deck in ATK mode! The only drawback is, that summoned Monster can't attack, plus, I can only use that effect per turn, and only once that turn."

"So meaning…" Sho got out.

"What he means is that Kuromu can't spam that Special Summoning effect every time he battles a Monster. Which is a blessing in disguise for Judai." Rex translated.

"Yes, but that will leave Judai at a disadvantage. If his Sparkman is destroyed, he will be left against a literal army of Kamen Riders." Misawa pointed out. "Kuromu has the clear advantage, especially for every monster he destroys on Judai's Field."

"So now I'll Special Summon from my Deck, Kamen Rider W in ATK mode!" Kuromu declared, taking said card out of his Deck and slapping it onto the tray.

CYCLONE!

JOKER!

They then heard the sound of something digital being inserted before there was a pulsing sound. Moments later, something seemed to be pushed and the pulsing sound changed into a briefing charging noise.

CYCLONE-JOKER!

A tune began to play as a strong wind suddenly blew, causing dust and debris to fly in all directions. The same dust and debris spun around before composing into a body and forming a suit. The suit of armor covered his entire body and looked streamlined as the left half was completely black with purple highlights on the shoulders, wrists, ankles and chest. The right half was completely green, with yellow highlights in the same places. A silver stripe ran down the middle and the helmet had a pair of round red eyes. The sharp 'W' shaped antenna, which could be mistaken for a 'V', was set on the brow with a red stone under it. Hanging from the right side of his neck was a long silver scarf that was like a cape as it was blown by the wind. (4/ATK: 1900-2200/DEF: 1000)

"So cool!" Judai cheered with glee at the sight of the new Kamen Rider appearing on his opponent's field.

W then did something of a pose by flicking his wrist, then pointing at Judai, "Saa… omae no tsumi o kazoero."

"Eh?" Kuromu blinked, not believing what he just heard. "Did… you hear something?"

"Huh, my ears must be playing tricks on me." Rex commented.

"Uh, I think I heard your guy just tell me to count up my sins. Wait… does he know that I took my dad's extra fried shrimp when he wasn't looking!?" Judai seemed to panic.

"…Huh?" Everyone looked confused.

Kuromu on the other hand shook his head, "That can't be right. Monsters can't talk. It's impossible."

Judai, however, believed otherwise, "Nah, that's not true!" He said with a big grin.

"Huh?"

"Yeah, if you think about it, whenever two Duelists are battling each other, they can always count on their Monsters to help them in a pinch! That's what I think when I Duel with my Elemental HEROes!" Judai explained his reasoning. "And they always help me when I'm in trouble!"

Sparkman seemed to share his Duelist's thoughts, folding his arms and nodding with confidence. Even though he was alone at the moment against three other Kamen Riders, he would not back down from a fight nor would his fellow Elemental HEROes.

"So bring it on, Kuromu! Because my Elemental HEROes are always up for a challenge!" Judai declared, grinning.

Kuromu looked at Judai, baffled, but shook his head once more, "I still don't think Monster can talk, but I'll accept your challenge nonetheless. The Battle Phase continues! Kamen Rider Kiva attacks Elemental HERO Sparkman! Darkness Moon Break!"

Kiva took off one of the whistles from the right side of his belt, which was red at the tip. He then opened the bat's mouth and inserted it in before closing it.

WAKE UP!

The bat blew out an eerie whistle tune as it flew off the perch of the belt and the entire area suddenly grew dark, the scenery turning into night as a crescent moon hung overhead.

"Eh?! It's nighttime?!" Sho gawked.

"No, I suspect this must be Kiva's power when it attacks." Misawa theorized. "It does resemble a culmination of horror movie monsters."

The next thing that happened was Kiva raising his right foot high in the air and the golden bat circled around it breaking the chains that were binding the leg revealing a pair of red bat wings with three green gems lining alongside it.

"Ooooh, how does he even stretch it that far? That's gotta pull a hamstring." Rex winced, gripping his leg as he did so.

Kiva then jumped up high before flipping backwards to right himself up then dived down in a flying kick maneuver. Sparkman, unwilling to go down without a fight, channeled his electric powers into his left fist and threw it towards Kiva. The two clashed in a display of thunder and darkness before eventually Kiva kicked Sparkman to the ground, forming a crater of Kiva's strange symbol of a bat. Energy from the green gems traveled to the bottom of Kiva's feet which then energized and destroyed Sparkman. Kiva then jumped back and the red bat wings were sealed by the chains. After that, the darkness lifted, returning back to daytime.

Judai: 2800

Kuromu: 4000

"Now onto Main Phase 2. I activate Den-O's effect once more, allowing me to add Form Change - Axe into my Hand." He said, before taking the card out of his Deck and adding it. "Ta-n endo."

Judai looked at the situation as well as his Hand. He was down a few cards but he just needed a card that would refill his Hand. And there was only one card he had that could change the tide.

Inhaling through his nose and exhaling through his mouth, Judai declared, "O-re no ta-n! Draw!" He drew his next card and when he looked at it, he grinned widely. "Alright! Here comes the comeback! I play the Magic Card: Treasure of the Heavens! This has both players draw until we both hold six cards in our hands!"

When Judai played the card, a golden light shined from overhead, signaling for him and Kuromu to draw the required cards. Looking at what he gained, the Kuriboh-haired boy's grin widened. "Nice! I knew my Deck wouldn't fail me!"

"Eh? Does that mean Aniki can win this?" Sho pondered.

"Depending on what he received from his Magic Card, most likely." Misawa added.

"First, I play another Magic Card: The Warrior Returning Alive! With this card, I'll return the Elemental HERO Featherman from my Graveyard to my Hand!" Judai declared, playing the card featuring a wounded Marauding Captain before his Featherman card pops out of his GY Slot and he adds it to his hand. "Then I play Fusion! With this card, I'll fuse Featherman with Elemental HERO Burst Lady!"

Appearing in a burst of wind and fire separately came forth Featherman and Burst Lady. Both Elemental HEROes looked at one another then nodded before uniting with the power of Fusion.

"Fusion Summon! Rise up, my favorite HERO! Elemental HERO Flame Wingman!" Judai declared with a smirk as his favorite Elemental HERO emerged from a vortex of wind and fire before landing on the field with his arms crossed. (8/ATK: 2100/DEF: 1200)

"It's here! Aniki's Ace Monster!" Sho cheered with obvious joy.

Rex, however, didn't share the enthusiasm, "Yeah, but Kuromu still has Judai's face-down and I doubt he'd attack knowing what that card might be."

"Not only that, even if he were to attack with Flame Wingman that is 2100, while tieing with Den-O, being stronger than Kiva, but weaker than W, the difference between both of them being 100 points on both side of spectrum, he won't do much to his Life Points." Misawa added.

Judai looked at his Hand. "Here goes nothing…" He muttered to himself before looking at Kuromu. "You're probably wondering what I have planned with Flame Wingman, right?"

"You're planning on attacking me… right?" Kuromu guessed.

"Yep, but I'm also doing a little remodeling! Your Kamen Riders have their home field. Time I show you the Elemental HEROes!" Judai smirked. "I play my Field Magic Card: Skyscraper!"

"EH?!" Kuromu gawked as the city began to shake before new buildings sprouted up, crumbling the other skyscraper buildings that were in its way and completely replacing them. Standing on top of one of the towers was Flame Wingman in a crossed arm pose. Meanwhile, all the Kamen Riders lost their power bonuses.

Kamen Rider Den-O (ATK: 2100-1800)

Kamen Rider Kiva (ATK: 2000-1700)

Kamen Rider W (ATK: 2200-1900)

"Alright! That means Aniki can beat all three of them now!" Sho cheered.

"Yes, but I wonder why he would use Skyscraper? It would have been more effective if either of Kuromu's Monsters had higher ATK power than his Flame Wingman." Rex pointed out.

"What are you up to, Judai?" Kuromu wondered.

"Oh, just this. Next I play an Equip Magic card! Legendary Sword!" Judai declared, playing the card as a beautiful blade emerged from the sky before landing in the center. "This card can only be equipped to Warrior monsters and gives them an additional 300 ATK and DEF!"

"But why would-" Kuromu got out, before his eyes widened in shock and realization, "Masaka…!"

Judai's grin widened. "That's right. This card doesn't specify that the Warrior monsters have to be my monsters."

"Of course! A brilliant move!" Misawa gasped. "If one of Kuromu's Monsters take that Equip Magic, he can fully utilize the effect of Flame Wingman and deal the highest Damage possible!"

"I Equip the Legendary Sword onto your Kamen Rider W!" Judai declared. The sword suddenly flew towards Kamen Rider W, who haphazardly managed to catch the hilt, but was struggling to lift it up.

Kamen Rider W (ATK: 1900-2200)

"Nanda ko-re wa!" Kamen Rider W… spoke?

Rex did a double-take. 'Okay, there's just no way that monster just talked!'

"Battle! Elemental HERO Flame Wingman attacks Kamen Rider W! Skyscraper's effect activates! When an Elemental HERO Monster battles with a monster that has higher ATK, it gains an additional 1000 ATK during damage calculation!" He looked up as his favorite HERO stood atop of a skyscraper antenna, allowing the energy of the city to flow through him as he narrowed his blazing red eyes at the dual-colored Kamen Rider.

Elemental HERO Flame Wingman (ATK: 2100-3100)

"Skyscraper Shoot!"

Flame Wingman jumped up and dived down as its dragon-like head on its arm was engulfed in flames, diving down as Kamen Rider W had to defend with the Legendary Sword he was equipped with, using the flat side of the blade. Flame Wingman reared back its dragon fist and punched the sword, as W struggled. W grunted and growled, trying to hold him off, but to no avail as he was eventually destroyed into pixels.

The shards of the defeated Rider flew towards Kuromu, forcing him to shield himself as his Life Points were reduced.

Judai: 2800

Kuromu: 3100

"And that's not all. Flame Wingman's effect activates! When he successfully destroys a monster in battle, the opponent is dealt Damage equal to that Monster's ATK!" Judai explained the power of his Fusion Monster.

When Kuromu opened his eyes, they widened, seeing Flame Wingman looming over him. The dragon head was aimed at him and suddenly a torrent of flames washed over the Kamen Rider duelist.

"GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Judai: 2800

Kuromu: 900

"Gh… I activate… your face-down! Call of the Living Dead!" Kuromu declared, revealing said card. "I bring back Kamen Rider W back to my Field!" He said, as the green and black themed Rider returned.

"I place one card face-down. Ta-n endo." Judai said as a card image appeared behind Flame Wingman before vanishing as the Fusion Monster's temporary power-up vanished.

Elemental HERO Flame Wingman (ATK: 3100-2100)

"O-re no ta-n! Draw!" Kuromu declared, drawing his next card, increasing his Hand from three to four. "Alright, let's do this. First, I activate Form Change - Axe from my Hand thanks to getting it from Den-O's ability the previous turn. First I have to get rid of Form Change - Rod and send it to the Graveyard to make it happen. So now Den-O becomes EARTH-Attribute!"

"Another change?" Judai pondered in surprise.

Den-O pressed the yellow button on his belt and a Japanese chiming bell tune played, before swiping the Rider Pass across the SetTouch.

AXE FORM!

The armor burst out and reconfigured itself again. The red plates attached to his back while the yellow and black ones connected with his chest. The shoulder plates also stuck closer to his back while round ones with red centers appeared from under them and attached to his shoulders. To complete the transformation, a white axe with a yellow blade slid down Den-O's face before the blades attached to his face into a triangular visor with black slits in them. The white handle attached itself down the center of his face to look like a horn. The mask's visor looked like the Japanese kanji for 'gold'.

Den-O then assumed a sumo position and cracked his neck.

"Now for me to activate his effect. When Den-O is equipped with Form Change - Axe, once per turn, I can target one of your Monsters and it loses 800 ATK!"

"Eh?!" Judai exclaimed in shock. Den-O reconfigured the DenGasher into its axe mode, then threw it at Flame Wingman, hitting its target as the Elemental HERO knelt on one knee in pain, lowering its ATK.

Elemental HERO Flame Wingman (ATK: 2100-1300)

"Oh man, now Flame Wingman's weaker!" Sho groaned.

"And he's gonna be in for a world of hurt." Rex added.

"Oh, but I'm not done yet! Next I activate Kamen Rider W's effect! By discarding one card from my Hand, I can inflict 300 points of Damage for each Kamen Rider on my side of the Field, excluding W. I have two currently, so you take 600 points of Damage!"

"He can do what?!" Judai gawked, as W closed the Double Driver and took out of the Driver, what appeared to be black and purple USB memory with a stylized 'J'. It was then replaced with a blue USB Memory that had a stylistic 'T' that looked like a gun.

TRIGGER!

He inserted it into the Driver then spread it apart.

CYCLONE-TRIGGER!

A tune played as W's black half turned blue while equipping himself with a blue gun dubbed the Trigger Magnum. He then aimed it at Judai and fired two aero shots at him.

Judai: 2200

Kuromu: 900

"Battle! Kamen Rider Den-O attacks Elemental HERO Flame Wingman! Dynamic Chop!" Kuromu declared.

Once again, Den-O took the pass and scanned it across the SetTouch.

FULL CHARGE!

He then threw the axe up in the air, before Den-O jumped up after it, to which he caught as yellow energy gathered in its axe blade. He then brought the axe down on the Elemental HERO, splitting him in half, Den-O taking a squat pose before Flame Wingman exploded into pixels.

Judai: 1700

Kuromu: 900

"It's over! Kamen Rider W attacks you directly! Joker Extreme!" Kuromu said. W then replaced the Trigger Memory with the Joker once more, returning him to his basic form. He then took out the Joker Memory, this time not closing the Driver, then inserted it into a slot on the right side of his belt.

JOKER: MAXIMUM DRIVE!

A cyclone formed below W as the wind picked up, raising the said Rider into the air, after which he pressed the button once more. And dived down with both feet aiming at Judai. As W dived down, the Rider's body suddenly… split in half down the middle!

"Ohhhhhhh!" Misawa and Rex cried out in dismay, almost disturbed by it.

"Aniki!" Sho cried out.

"Not so fast! I activate my face-down! The Trap: Attack Nullification!" Judai declared.

"No way!" Kuromu gasped as the attack was stopped by a barrier that protected Judai, before W backed off.

"With this, your Battle Phase is at an end!" Judai cheered.

"Grrr… I activate Den-O's effect, one more time, adding Form Change - Gun to my Hand. Ta-n endo." Kuromu grunted.

Sho released a breath he didn't know he was holding in, "Thank goodness. I nearly thought he would've lost."

"But the situation has turned around once more in Kuromu's favor. Judai has no cards in his hand or on his field while his opponent has three monsters with enough ATK to end the Duel." Misawa explained the situation to the two Osiris Red students.

"This is it, Judai. Do or die situation. You need to literally pull out a miracle, if you're to win this Duel." Kuromu said.

Judai grinned widely, "Are you kidding? This is the kind of situation that makes Dueling so much fun!" He replied before placing his fingers on his Deck. "O-re no ta-n! Draw!" When he drew the card, his eyes widened quite a bit.

"Wait… did you… no way. You didn't!" Kuromu gasped.

"As I live and breathe. And here I thought the Destiny Draw was just a myth." Rex laughed in amazement.

"I did! When this card is the only one I have in my hand, I can Special Summon it to the field! Come forth, Elemental HERO Bubbleman!" Judai declared, playing his new monster on his Duel Disk in DEF Position.

Emerging in front of Judai with a burst of particles is a new Elemental HERO. A short, stocky man wearing aqua blue armor and a dark blue under suit with a backpack composed of water tanks and a wrist-mounted water nozzle on the right arm along with a billowing white cape. The HERO gave a confident grin to all those present before he posed just like his card image then landed in a crouch. (4/ATK: 800/DEF: 1200)

"Huh? That's it?" Kuromu looked confused.

"Bubbleman has an additional effect. When he's the only card on the field, I can draw two cards from my Deck!" Judai smirked as he drew his additional cards, looking them over before grinning. "First, I play a Monster in face-down Defense!" A monster card appears beside Bubbleman. "Then I place one card face-down. Ta-n endo!"

"Huh? What? I thought he had it!" Sho gawked.

"Hold on, Let 'em cook." Rex said. "He's got something up his sleeve."

"O-re no ta-n!" Kuromu declared, drawing his next card. "I'll activate Form Change - Gun and equip it to Den-O after getting rid of Form Change - Axe!"

"Another one?!" Misawa gasped, as Den-O this time pressed the purple button before an electronic hip-hop tune played as he swiped the pass over the SetTouch.

GUN FORM!

The yellow and black plates attached to his back while the red and white plates hit his shoulders. The front red plates, however, opened by joints near the top which had purple chest plates with silver sections on them. The shoulder horns had dragon's arms reaching up and looked like they were grasping purple orbs. When these plates finally became attached, a purple and gold dragon came sliding down Den-O's face. It had purple wings and a gold head with orange eyes and gold whiskers. When it covered his face, the wings folded downward before pressing together and attached to his face. He now had a purple visor which doubled as horns and gold whiskers which followed their direction.

Den-O suddenly did a break dance of sorts before pointing at Judai with a pose.

"Kamen Rider W's effect activates once more! By discarding one card from my Hand, I can inflict 300 points of Damage for each Kamen Rider on my side of the Field, excluding W. So you take 600 more points of Damage!"

The same sequence happened again as W went Cyclone-Trigger again and shot two aero bullets.

Judai: 1100

Kuromu: 900

"Battle! Den-O attacks… directly!" Kuromu declared.

"HUH?! You can't do that!" Judai exclaimed.

"With Den-O in Gun Form, yes I can. But luckily for you, his ATK is cut in half during that." Kuromu said, as Den-O changed the DenGasher's configuration to its Gun Form. He then scanned the Pass over the SetTouch of the belt.

FULL CHARGE!

Purple energy appeared on the shoulder protrusions of the armor which melded into the DenGasher, lighting up the tip, as the ball of energy formed.

"Now go! Wild Shot!" Kuromu ordered. Den-O fired the huge purple ball of energy at Judai, which flew erratically, prompting the onlookers to dodge and duck, before finally hitting its target.

"GAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Judai cried out.

Judai: 200

Kuromu: 900

"Oh no!" Sho cried out.

"It's been fun Judai, but I win this one! Kamen Rider Kiva attacks Elemental HERO Bubbleman! Darkness Moon Break!"

"Trap activate! Cross Heart!" Judai declared, revealing his face-down backrow card. "I can only activate this card when I take Battle Damage. It also allows me to take control of one of your Monsters! I'll take control of Kamen Rider W!"

"No way!" Kuromu gawked, as W was suddenly staggering towards Judai, while clutching his chest before finally arriving on the other side. However, this didn't stop Kiva from destroying Bubbleman.

"Looks like W is on my side now." Judai smirked.

Kuromu looked at his Hand and sighed. Nothing he had could help him. "Looks like you saved yourself for one more turn. Ta-n endo."

"Not bad. Something tells me things just got really interesting." Rex commented.

"Alright, let's make this count. O-re no ta-n! Draw!" Judai drew his next card and his eyes widened significantly then his grin became very wide. "You know, Kuromu, I was kinda hoping that you would have attacked my face-down monster. But this will work just as well."

"Why do you say that?" Kuromu pondered.

"Because it allows me to do this!" Judai declared. "I play the Magic Card: Resurrection of the Dead!"

"BAKANA!" Kuromu gawked.

"And guess who I'm bringing back! Revive, Elemental HERO Flame Wingman!" Judai, declared as his favorite Elemental HERO, emerged beside Kamen Rider W with his arms crossed over his chest.

"This is it! Aniki's comeback!" Sho cheered with stars in his eyes.

Misawa gasped, wide-eyed, "He actually managed to pull the card that he needed…"

"Yup. That's Destiny Draw at its finest." Rex shook his head in amusement.

"Destiny Draw?" Sho looked confused. "Don't you mean Luck of the Draw?"

"I've heard it called by either name." Rex explained, "Most people berate it as top decking but those that believe say that the cards just… answer your heart's desire."

"Battle! Elemental HERO Flame Wingman attacks Kamen Rider Den-O! Skyscraper Shoot!" Judai declared as the Elemental HERO Fusion Monster charged at Den-O shrouded in fire. The Kamen Rider tried to fight back but was soon destroyed by Flame Wingman. "And don't forget about his effect either. It deals damage to you by the destroyed monster's ATK."

Once again, Flame Wingman loomed over Kuromu. The dragon head was aimed right at him and a second torrent of flames washed over the Kamen Rider duelist.

"GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Judai: 200

Kuromu: 0

With the Duel over and the winner made clear, the Solid Vision System deactivated, removing the holograms as a result.

"Gotcha!" Judai declared with a wink and a grin as he gestured at Kuromu with his right index and middle fingers. "That was a really fun Duel!"

"Uwhaaaaaaaaa!" Kuromu groaned, falling over on his back, staring at the ceiling. "Man, I thought I had you there!"

Judai chuckled, "You almost did but I managed to get the card I needed thanks to my Deck." He then walked over to Kuromu and held out his hand. The Kamen Rider duelist looked at him, before taking Judai's hand and the Osiris Red student pulled him up to his feet.

"Nice work, Judai." Rex said, giving Judai a thumbs up.

"You won, Aniki!" Sho cheered.

"Heh, thanks." Judai grinned.

"Well played, Ichiban-kun." Misawa smirked. "Looks like the competition will be fresh after all."

"Sorry if I gave Ra Yellow a bad rep with that loss though." Kuromu apologized to Misawa, scratching the back of his head.

Misawa shook his head, "No need. I doubt anyone will care about such things in our dorm. We're not like those Obelisk Blue students who only got in with money and their family name." He smirked. "Besides, you provided me with valuable data on Judai's Deck. As well as your own."

"I guess so." Kuromu sighed.

"Hah! You call that a Duel? I've seen better!" A new voice called out, prompting the group to turn towards the source of the voice.

The three reds and two yellow turned around, seeing three boys wearing Obelisk Blue trench coat blazers observing them. Each of them were sneering at the students, but none more so than the one standing in the middle. Oddly shaped black hair that spiked out at the front like a weird mohawk and dark gray eyes that screamed demeaning in his gaze. It was a gaze Rex was all too familiar with.

"Seriously, even toddlers could Duel better than that."

"And you're supposed to be?" Kuromu frowned at the leader.

"What, were you living under a rock or something?" The boy with glasses on popped up. "This is Manjoume Jun, the highest ranked Obelisk Blue student of the first years and the Duel King."

"Come again?" Rex asked Jun frankly, "I don't speak blowhard."

"Yeah, and besides, we all know that's a lie." Judai's sudden comment caught the boys off guard. The Osiris Red student was simply standing there, unimpressed, arms crossed behind his head. To them it seemed that Judai simply didn't care.

"Heh, nice one." Rex chuckled.

"What did you say!?" Manjoume growled.

"I said, it's a lie. Because I'm gonna be the next Duel King." Judai grinned stupidly.

"Not to mention…" Kuromu said, looking at the Obelisks. "All I see are a bunch of snobs that think they're entitled to everything."

"Of course we're the best. We're in the best dorm, have the best teaching, and have the best decks!" The second boy standing behind Manjoume declared with pride. "What do you guys have? Half made decks and hand-me downs from Obelisk Blue! Heck I wouldn't be surprised if the Osiris Red dorm was once an Obelisk Blue party house!"

"Nah, that wouldn't even work as a party house, maybe a latrine given the piss stains on the walls!" The glasses wearing boy laughed with the spiky haired boy.

"Think of it this way boys," Manjoume spoke up, smirking at the Osiris Red and Ra Yellows. "At least we're kind enough to give them a chance to come here. Better for them to Duel their superiors and see how worthless they are as duelists."

"You son of a-!" Kuromu growled, but Misawa placed a hand on his shoulder. "Misawa, c'mon, you're seriously gonna let this slide?"

"They're just needlessly mocking us." He told them, "Don't give them the reactions they want."

"Grrrr…"

"Hey, what's going on over here?" Yet another voice called out. The three of them looked towards the entrance and a familiar female gained the Kamen Rider duelist's attention.

"Asuka." Kuromu gasped.

"Tenjouin-san!" Manjoume said with fondness and a glazed look in his eyes. Kuromu on the other hand, didn't like the look Manjoume gave her.

"I don't know what just happened, but I'm here to remind you that the Welcome Dinner is about to start soon." Asuka glared, approaching the Obelisk Blue students. "So stop harassing them and get moving. Or would you rather get kicked out on the first day for harassment?"

Manjoume snarled before backing off. "C'mon boys, let's go." He said, before he and the two started leaving. But then he shot a glare at the Osiris and Ra students. "Don't think you're off the hook! Because at the end of the day, you're all a bunch of losers that don't deserve to be here!" And with that, he and his two cronies quickly left.

Asuka sighed at this, before looking at the boys. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, we're fine." Kuromu sighed, but smiled softly, "Thanks for scaring them off."

"It's fine. I've dealt with people like him before." She reassured him. "Those guys just have no respect for anyone but themselves."

"Understatement of the millennium." Rex scoffed.

"Believe me, not all Obelisk Blue students are like that." Asuka emphasized.

"Clearly, compared to them, you're a saint."

"Hehe, how sweet of you." Asuka giggled. "Anyways, you all better get going, too. The Welcome Dinner's about to start."

"Alright, free food! Hurry up, Sho!" Judai said, before running off. "Oh and Kuro, we should Duel again sometime! Later!"

"Wait up, Aniki!" Sho groaned, going after him.

"H-Hey! Judai, don't eat it all before we get there!" Rex roared before following suit.

"Uh… yeah." Kuromu blinked, "Surprised how friendly the three are. Well, two out of the three of them are."

"Two of the three?" Asuka looked confused.

"Don't ask." Kuromu muttered.

"Well, I don't know about you, but I suppose we should all be heading back now." Misawa suggested. "You'll be coming, yes?"

"Yeah, I'll meet up with ya soon." Kuromu nodded. Misawa nodded back, before leaving as well, with Kuromu and Asuka by themselves. "So…" Kuromu began, feeling a bit awkward. "Want me to walk with you to your dorm? I know we have some catching up to do."

"Definitely. We have a lot to talk about." She said, before the two made their way out of the stadium and out of the school.
