Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Group Fight!

Uzui Tengen arrived on the scene, his sharp eyes scanning the chaos around him. He saw Tanjiro, battered and bruised but slowly recovering. Then his gaze locked onto the twin demons standing before him—Upper Rank Six, Gyuutarou and Daki.

"Upper Six?" Uzui muttered with a smirk. "Perfect. Just enough to show off how flashy I am."

He drew his twin Nichirin blades, the hilts connected by a thick iron chain. The blades were massive and had a jagged, brutal design—deadly in the hands of a master like him.

"Hold on!" James called out, stepping back. "I'll go grab another sword. If I'm right, these two need to be killed at the same time to die for real. Also, that green-haired freak's weapon is laced with poison—be careful."

With that, James dashed off, vanishing into the shadows.

"Kill them at the same time. Poisoned blades. Got it," Uzui muttered, already lunging into action before James had even finished speaking.

He didn't have time to wait for backup or strategy. This was a moment to seize.

In a blink, Uzui's right blade slashed toward Gyuutarou, who retreated with incredible speed. But in doing so, he left Daki exposed. Uzui's left blade arced cleanly through the air—slice!—and Daki's head separated from her shoulders in one swift motion.

Gyuutarou growled, then flinched. Something was coming.

Whoosh!

A blaze of crimson flames exploded from behind him.

Tanjiro—recovered just enough to fight—had launched his attack with the Hinokami Kagura.

Caught between the two, Gyuutarou didn't dodge. Instead, he bolted backward to widen the gap.

Tanjiro's blade struck his neck with a flaming arc. But instead of slicing through, there was a deafening clang. The force rebounded through Tanjiro's arms, numbing them.

"It's like hitting steel!" he gasped. "I can't cut him!"

Gyuutarou barely reacted, but Tanjiro was sent flying across the battlefield—landing just near Daki, who was now being swarmed by Zenitsu and Inosuke.

The clash intensified.

---

"Breath of Sound, Fourth Form: Constant Resounding Slashes!"

Uzui's twin blades spun wildly, sparks and explosions flaring with every swing. Each detonation was triggered by specially crafted bombs—strong enough to injure even an Upper Moon.

Shrapnel tore at Gyuutarou's flesh, slowing his regeneration.

"Once my hands recover," Gyuutarou hissed, "you're finished."

But Uzui was already one step ahead. As Gyuutarou raised his scythes, another explosion blasted through the air.

"Sound Breathing—First Form: Roar!"

The detonation launched Uzui forward like a missile. He closed the gap instantly.

Every second stretched out like an eternity, but in truth, mere moments passed. This was the speed and violence of a fight between those beyond ordinary humans.

---

Meanwhile, Zenitsu and Inosuke launched their joint attack on Daki.

Daki, despite being beheaded, continued to fight, her strength seemingly growing. Her regeneration was fast. Too fast.

This was the power of the Upper Six—they weren't two demons working together, they were one. Twin siblings sharing a life.

Zenitsu's Thunderclap and Flash surged like lightning, but Daki's ribbons were like a wall of death. Each time he approached, the ribbons intercepted him.

Inosuke slashed wildly, his dual blades clearing paths through the barrage.

Then—Tanjiro reentered the fight.

"Hinokami Kagura: Dance of the Fire God—Circular Dance!"

He jumped into the air, drawing Daki's attention and pulling her ribbons upward. The blade in his hands was bathed in fire, slicing through the ribbons with powerful arcs. The brief distraction left a gap in her defense.

"Now!" he shouted.

"Thunder Breathing: First Form—Thunderclap and Flash, God Speed!"

Zenitsu vanished in a bolt of light, streaking toward Daki like a thunderbolt.

Daki retaliated. Two ribbons shot forward at lethal speed. At this pace, Zenitsu couldn't dodge. A cruel grin twisted on her face.

But from above—

"Beast Breathing: Eighth Fang—Explosive Rush!"

Inosuke fell from the sky like a cannonball, twin blades spinning. He collided with the two ribbons mid-air, knocking them aside.

Zenitsu's path was clear.

Too late, Daki tried to defend by turning her neck into ribbon—but—

"Hinokami Kagura: Fifth Form—Flame Wheel!"

Tanjiro's flaming blade came down in a searing arc, cutting in sync with Zenitsu's strike.

Slice!

Daki's head was severed by two blades at once. Her body collapsed.

Inosuke grabbed the head and darted away before her regeneration could reactivate.

Tanjiro didn't stop. He leaped again—this time toward Gyuutarou.

---

Gyuutarou heard the scream.

"Brother! Help me—!"

He panicked. Daki was dying.

He couldn't allow his own head to be severed now.

Uzui closed in again, riding the explosion's shockwave. He was gaining ground.

Blood scythes burst forward in a chaotic storm, slashing toward Uzui. But he didn't dodge.

He knew this might be the only opening.

He braced himself—blood splattered as two of the blades carved across his shoulders.

The pain was sharp, and he could already feel the poison pulsing in his veins.

I can take it. I'm a ninja. I've been through worse.

What mattered now was ending this.

Gyuutarou stopped abruptly and spun.

"Blood Demon Art: Circular Slash—Bloody Scythe Spiral!"

His arms rotated violently, forming a whirlwind of slicing blood.

Uzui, still mid-charge, realized he couldn't stop in time. His momentum would carry him right into the kill zone.

Is this it…? he wondered. Is this where I die?

Memories flashed—his wives, his comrades, the path he'd walked.

If there's another life after this… I hope I'm not a ninja again.

He shut his eyes.

But then—

"How dare you think that!"

Uzui's eyes snapped open. A wild grin twisted his face.

"I am Uzui Tengen! Breath of Sound—Fifth Form: String Performance!"

With a roar, he lunged headlong into the tornado of death.

At the same time—

"Sun Breathing: First Form—Solar Slash."

A soft voice whispered through the air.

And then everything exploded.

A thunderous shockwave erupted as fire met blood, steel met bone. The wind screamed, buildings shattered, dust billowed out like a sandstorm.

Time stood still.

Seconds passed. Then—

Uzui stirred.

He slowly rose from the rubble, patting himself down.

Bruised. Battered. Lungs displaced. Poison surging.

But alive.

He still held both blades in hand.

Because he knew—it wasn't over.

Across the battlefield, the smoke cleared.

Gyuutarou stood… but barely.

A deep diagonal slash had torn through his body—from his left shoulder to his right hip. His legs were shattered. His left arm was gone. Blood sprayed from every open wound.

His blood demon art had stopped—he could no longer control it.

He staggered, eyes wide in disbelief.

Behind him stood James.

Broken sword in hand.

Uzui blinked.

It was James. He saved me. He landed the critical strike.

But then, Uzui's limbs began to fail.

The poison… it's spreading.

He collapsed to one knee, eyes hazy. His muscles refused to move.

James had no weapon. Gyuutarou's regeneration was already beginning.

This… this can't be how it ends!

He forced all his strength into one word:

"TANJIRO!!!"

And from the smoke—

A figure with blazing red eyes, sword wreathed in flames, sprinted forward.

The final blow was coming.
