As we approached the year 1970 we were confident in our knowledge in the workings of the mortal realm. So confident in fact that we decided it would be safe enough for us to set off to the areas of Earth we had checked out earlier in order to find out what locations were compatible with whose divine life energy. After we decided what locations were the most compatible for each of us, is when we all decided to leave our secret location and head to where we were starting our mortal lives. We also each memorized the names we were each going to go by, since our original names were a bit much for modern times. We also each wrote the location of who was settling where and their current names. Yes we chose to write in ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs but as we were the only ones meant to read it there wasn't a problem. We also decided to stay in constant touch with each other and decided that we would communicate in whatever the language was for the person we were trying to reach, always on a secure line. The last thing we needed was for people to think we were crazy if they ever heard us talking about events that happened over a thousand years ago. That would definitely get us carted off to their mental institutions, where our normal is their crazy!
We then discussed what we were going to do with our fellow gods and goddesses. It was decided that since I was the ruler of the gods I should take them with me since it was safer for someone to always be around them. The last thing we needed was for them to wake up with no one around and accidentally cause trouble. Or for some mortals to find them and either loot all the golden items from them or for them to end up in a museum, or worse a private collector. The icing on that would be for them to then reawaken and have no idea what was happening. Then they could have been sent to either a lab to be turned into experiments depending on if they showed they could turn into animals or not. They could even be carted off to one of the mental institutions because people thought they were mentally ill or just plain crazy.
Then there was also the chance that a mortal could say they believed them, only to then take advantage of whichever god or goddess awoke. They could then use their power for their own purposes. That would then be a serious problem for the world. First on one hand it would then allow the mortals to realize that magic and gods are real, some more older families already know this though. In a way it would help us replenish our divine life essence from all the prayers and worship that we could potentially receive. Second it also has the potential to go very wrong especially since some gods have exceptional power because of what they can control.
That would be a headache if one who could control weather elements were to be taken advantage of. Not only because they are most likely a hot head that never thinks before they act but, because the weather would definitely be changed on a whim probably constantly. It would also be catastrophic for the Earth itself because of all the destruction that would be caused when the 'natural disasters' happened. They would in fact not be those but instead one of my companions throwing a temper tantrum or having been led astray by a power hungry mortal.
