Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

As the year of 1955 came upon us we all readied ourselves to leave the Celestial Realm this is because we definitely didn't want to be caught up in the mess that the mortals were having in Egypt at this time. By this time the country was completely settled and we ran no risk of being caught up in the mess, especially the military coupe. It was at this time that we all noticed that the portal had shrunken unnoticed by any of us to be barely large enough for us to descend back to the Earth realm, while also allowing us to bring those that were sitting lifelessly on their thrones. So we quickly left while we had the chance to before being left sealed away for possibly ever. With only 9 of us being left to still be 'alive' we descended, these weren't actually good odds in my opinion since there were 17 of us in the beginning.

We were strong enough to have survived until now. This is in part thanks to the very meager worship from either being aligned with a Greek counterpart or from the very few people that hadn't forgotten their Egyptian roots and had stories passed down. Without this little luck I doubt even we would have been able to hold on as long as we had. It was a miracle in itself that we had made it til now with as little of us becoming still, other of our fellow gods in their own Celestial realms weren't as lucky as we were but those are stories for another time.

There are only 10 of us that aren't in a statue-like state to make decisions: myself, Ra the sun god, creator, and one of the most important gods. Osiris the God of the Afterlife, resurrection, and agriculture. Fortunately for the entire world he wasn't left unsupervised, or I fear there would be a whole lot of Egyptians from thousands of years ago resurrected. Isis the Goddess of magic, motherhood, and healing. I'm actually afraid of what havoc she would have caused if left unsupervised, you can do pretty much anything with magic. Horus the God of kingship and protection. Set the God of Chaos, storms, and the desert. He I know for a fact would have thrown the entire world into chaos. More storms that were both devastating and chaotic. Thoth the God of wisdom, writing, and knowledge. Ptah a Creator God and patron of craftsmen. Bastet the Goddess of protection, pleasure, and cats. Ma'at the Goddess of truth, justice, and cosmic order. She hates injustice and will do anything she can to right the wrong. Even if that means working hand in hand with both Set and Sekhmet. Then finally Sekhmet the Goddess of war, destruction, and healing. She loves war and destruction, so there isn't any telling the damage she would do if she was the only one with no supervision. She was always very excited when the mortals we were watching while waiting to descend started a war of some type. The more destruction there was the happier she was and always wanted to go join them.
