The next day, Ethan went to school, and as he entered the class, he saw all the girls grouping at his desk, so he thought it would be weird to sit there so he went to his friend
"Yo, you shy?" his friend asked, a smile on his face.
"Yo, nah, it's just too crowded next to my desk." Ethan answered.
"Haha, yeah, I got you." His friend nodded, lightly punching Ethan's shoulder.
"Well, I feel like an anime protagonist." Ethan sighed.
"No… just no," his friend said, "you shouldn't, it's cringe."
"Haha, I know, but I mean… the girls grouping at that desk specifically?" Ethan commented "Next to mine? Yeah, that isn't a coincidence."
"I guess it does feel like that," his friend agreed, "but just remember that real life is real, and anime is anime."
"I know, dude, I'm not an idiot." Ethan laughed.
While Ethan and his friend were laughing and talking, the teacher walked in and announced that everyone should sit in their seats, and so all the girls went to sit at their desks.
Ethan walked and sat at his desk, noticing a beautiful girl who looked like she was from Japan sitting at the desk that the girls were gathering.
New student? She's pretty, yeah whatever, I don't really care, in the end we might never interact.
"Everyone! We have a new student! Will you please introduce yourself?" The teacher announced as she walked in.
The girl stood up, you can tell that she looked down on everyone by her tone and posture alone.
"Hello… my name is Minami and I am from Japan, I know, I know, I'm beautiful." She declared with great aplomb.
Ethan decided to just mind his own business, and so he looked around and saw that everyone was staring at her, from boys to girls, the girls were staring in awe and envy, the boys were staring in admiration and love.
She noticed that Ethan was the only one that wasn't interested, when she saw that, her faced turned into a frown, and she decided to just sit down.
Bruh, this girl thinks she owns the world… well, anyways, about yesterday, I got powers. Huh, Well, that metal rock seemed to shrink. Wait, my skin absorbs stuff easily, does that mean that my skin absorbed the metal? No, it's too unbelievable, but it's a theory, hmm theory, a POWER THEORY! Haha.
Class went on and on but finally ended and lunch came, Ethan was walking to the cafeteria to eat his sandwich, but as he reached his destination, a girl bumped into him, Ethan looked at her and saw that it was Minami.
"Watch It!" She yelled, "hey, you're the nerd who ignores me!"
"nerd?" Ethan wondered.
"What? Surprised? You hate that nickname?" She teased, trying to rage bait Ethan.
"No," Ethan scoffed "I AM a nerd after all."
"Wow, you must be hopeless if you admit that." Minami sighed, rubbing her temples.
"We are in the big '25, yet you still call people nerds," Ethan sighed sarcastically "and here I thought I was pathetic."
"Because you ARE pathetic, you may look manly, but that doesn't hide your weakness." She snarled.
"And that is?" He chuckled as he crossed his arms.
"That you are a weirdo, a simp." Minami let out a proud laugh.
"And how did you conclude that I am?" Ethan asked as he lifted his eyebrow.
"You didn't look at me like you liked me." She answered.
"That's because I don't know you." Ethan replied, letting out a long sigh.
Minami's face turned from a confident smirk to a full-on offended frown, and she crossed her arms in anger
"Excuse me!?" She yelled, putting her hand on her chest.
"What? Surprised?" Ethan teased, a smirk appearing, "Look, I know that you'll just spread false rumors to ruin my reputation, but let me be honest, I couldn't care less."
Minami's face became a face of pure shock, her eyes widening and her jaw dropping at his response. The question that is spiraling in her head is "Who the hell does he think he is?!"
"What?! What do you mean?" She questioned him, "you SHOULD care, and how do you know I would do that?"
"It's a common cliche!" He answered, "Plus why should I waste my energy on what people say, it's a waste of time and energy."
Minami stared at him with more shock, but decided to give up and walk away, her hips swaying dramatically.
"I swear, she thinks she's pretty, but she's like an anime villainess, all looks and no personality…." Ethan laughed to himself.
Ethan continued his day normally, but the very next day at school, everyone was staring at him like he was a criminal, but he ignored it, his face calm and resting, but he was panicking on the inside since he isn't used to this much people staring.
When he finally reached his class, he sat at his usual place, his desk, classes passing by, history, chemistry, English, and when it was lunchtime once more, he went to the cafeteria as he sometimes does, even though he usually prefers staying in class.
He got his sandwich and sat at a lunch table, and just ate it peacefully, but everyone's stares and whispers made Ethan lose a bit of his composure, but it wasn't noticeable.
He looked around and saw a group of jocks heading towards him, and when they reached his table, which was empty, they punched him without even waiting or talking, which made Ethan spit his food.
"Oh, look at this guy, you sure you're the one who assaulted Minami?" Jock 1 said, rage filling his eyes, his eyebrows furrowed.
If only he didn't have a baby face… would've been scarier.
Ethan sat upright, putting his hand on his cheek that they punched, if Ethan tensed up, his jaw would've been gone.
"Assaulted? I'm sure I was the one that was-" Ethan was suddenly cut off by a punch from the jocks. Ethan's face was beginning to get bruised.
"This guy is weak." Jock two laughed.
The jocks laughed as they kept punching and hitting him, Ethan getting hurt more and more, he was forced to stay on the ground and ball up as they kept assaulting him.
His emotions beginning to boil over, before finally bursting in rage, he screamed as a big electric zap discharged from his chest, suddenly, everything froze.
But Ethan was too blinded by rage to notice so yelled and punched all the jocks with all his strength, but holding back most of his strength.
His rage activated some sort of ability, time slowed to a stop. He didn't even noticing their motionless bodies.
"SHUT UUUUP!!!" Ethan cried at the top of his voice.
Ethan kept punching and kicking them, before doing one last kick, and collapsing as the speed he was moving in was too much for him.
So Ethan watched as everything went black and time moving at normal speed again, the jocks flying across the cafeteria.
Ethan woke up, as he looked around, he saw a bunch of beds, and some cabinets and a mini fridge, he's now in the nurses office.
He looked around and saw that it was empty, so he got up, but his body was still weak, which almost caused him to fall and lose balance.
Fortunately, he was able to stay standing, he looked down to his body and found no sign of a bruise.
So he walked to the exit but as he reached for the knob, the door burst open, it was Minami, her face was red, her eyebrows furrowed, her mouth almost foaming…
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?! WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY BOYFRIEND?!" She screamed at Ethan, her hair slightly lifting, making her seem disheveled.
"Boyfriend?" He asked, "This is still your second day. Anyways, I'm tired, I wanna go home, so just shu-"
Minami sent her open hand flying to his face and slapped him, the sound vibrating around the room.
"Why the heck don't my powers work on you?! I've tried and tried, but your mind is too strong!" She yelled, even more strands of hair lifting, "I can't overrun your mind with thoughts, I can't CONTROL you!!"
"Huh? What?….." Ethan stared at her with a confused look, his eyebrows furrowing.
Ethan rubbed his eyes, still confused as Minami stared at him with a face that resembled a bull about to charge.
"You know that THAT is NOT something you should just yell out…." He said.
"And? You have powers too, I saw you destroy those jocks and my boyfriend." Minami commented, "but don't you think that's overkill?"
"Well, it's not like I can just control my emotions all the time-" He sighed.
"Blah blah blah, yeah shut up, no one cares," She interrupted, her hair calming down a bit and falling back down, "I bet your parents don't even care about YOU!"
"Look, I am in no mood to argue… OK?" Ethan replied, briefly shaking his head.
"Not OK, I wanna get revenge." She snarled, her hair "And I'll show you who's superior."
Ethan just watched as everything around him began to float, she was still staring right at him.
Ethan was surprised, but he quickly regained his composure, and got into a fighting stance, trying to use his powers.
But before he could do anything, a vase crashed into his head, which made his frustration sky rocket as the pain stinged him.
Minami made more small stuff fly at him, however, he was able to block, and catch some of them but he couldn't block the rest.
Finally, Minami made a bed fly at him, which knocked him to a wall, the wall slightly cracked as Ethan laid right in front of it, looking defeated, or so Minami thought.
Unexpectedly, Ethan got up, and while she was distracted by figuring out how he survived such a shot, Ethan launched himself at her.
She tried to make another vase fly at him, canceling his momentum or at least stunning him, but it was too late, he dodged the vase and disappeared, suddenly reappeared behind her.
"I'm here, idiot!" He laughed, ready to kick her.
As minami turned around all she saw was Ethan's foot at her face as he kicked her, she flew back from the force of the kick.
Ethan being the anger-filled guy that he currently is, launched himself at her again, doing the same thing he did, but this time launching her through the wall and into the garden of the school.
The wall had been destroyed as if it was made of foam, Minami struggled up, her eyes still filled with determination.
Ethan launched himself at her, hoping to hit her, but minami made him float which made him unable to get any closer.
So he lifted his right hand to the sky, the clouds got closer together more and more, the place getting dimmer and the atmosphere smelled like ozone, suddenly, lightning struck him.
And as soon as it did, he disappeared, then lightning hit Minami, making her fall to the ground but as she sat up, Ethan appeared a few meters away and slowly began walking towards her.
"STOP! I GIVE UP, I GIVE UP!" She pleaded.
Her face had a desperate look, and as Ethan got closer and closer, minami tried to crawl herself away from his path, but Ethan was too fast.
When Ethan got to her, he lifted his hand, and as soon as he did, minami flinched, expecting a punch, but he held out his hand instead.
"Come on, get up," he said, his expression was now neutral.
"what?… WHY?!" She asked, questioning if he's gonna trick her or if he's ACTUALLY gonna get her up.
"Either take my hand to get up, or I'll leave you to get up alone." Ethan said impatiently, rolling his eyes.
After a few seconds of hesitation, Minami took his hand, but as soon as she touched his hand, she smirked.
A plant pot flew at him almost hitting him, but he caught it with the other hand without even looking at it.
Ethan didn't let go of her hand, but quite the opposite, he lifted her by her hand and immediately lifted her into a princess carry and walked into the nurse's office, or at least what's left of it.
She was flailing, or at least trying to, but her body was too weak so she ended up just slowly tapping him with the side of her closed fist.
"What a… Seriously, you almost made me swear, once I start I never stop." Ethan warned, he was exhausted from the fight.
Ethan put her down on a bed, she was still conscious but in great pain, her hair disheveled, her breath was bated, her nose was bleeding, she coughed every few seconds.
Ethan held out his hand, this time not to get her up, but stop her pain, his open palm was pushed towards her, and suddenly, minami's body pain went away, then he took out the first aid kit from a nearby drawer.
"Where did it hurt?" He plainly asked.
"Uh, it's uh… my leg…" She answered, she never really asked for help especially from a guy her age.
"Only?" He lifted his eyebrows, staring her right in the eyes.
"No…" She responded, despite the pain all over her body, her eyes drifted to the right, her face reddened slightly.
Ethan silently wrapped a bandage around her leg, and put some disinfectant on some of the big wounds, and put a band-aid on them.
As he was doing that, Minami stared at him, her eyes that were filled with fear but also sparkled with admiration… why was he doing that? Was it guilt? Did he want to take advantage of her? What's going on?
"Done, I'm going now…" He declared as he got up.
"W-wait!" She cried out, "Weren't you just fighting me? Why did you help me?"
"Because I hate hurting people, which is why my punches are weak," he began to slow down as his head slowly tilted sideways, "especially before my powers… I really… do… whoa… I feel tired… What's… Goi-"
Ethan suddenly fell unconscious, Minami tried to get up to rush to his side, but the pain from her body multiplied, So she ended up collapsing before she could get to him.
so she rolled from her stomach to her back and ended up laying on her back on the dirt and dust-filled ground from their fighting.
After a minute, the nurse arrived and saw that the room is a complete wreck, and it was destroyed, all she found was two people, both on the ground, Minami and Ethan…
"Hey, could you help us?" She pleaded.
The nurse helped Minami get onto a bed and dragged Ethan to a bed next to her, his head rolled to his direction.
Minami stared at his sleeping figure, admiring him… what's that feeling? Why am I feeling this? why did I even fight him?… those were minami's thoughts…
All she thought about was why Ethan suddenly became considerate… and then those thoughts quickly changed to thoughts of Ethan sleeping…
He's cute, that sleeping face is so nice and peaceful, I wish I could see that every day… and so those thoughts kept taking over Minami throughout the time that she was in the room.
And so, after half an hour, Minami was driven to the hospital, and Ethan woke up later by an hour, and walked home, still not knowing how he used his powers…
He realized it's usually more of a spur of the moment kind of thing, so he kept walking home, and thought of a name for himself, for when he can control his powers and become a hero, it was his online username which is "THE ELECTRIC SLAYER".
