Chapter 22 - Chapter 22

To elaborate, as mentioned earlier, the chakra required to unleash a [Spiral Pill] is around 200 units, while a [Great Spiral Pill] (Dayu Screw Pill) consumes nearly 400 units. Raion's current chakra limit is 3,500.

The power Raion demonstrated earlier with just three [Great Spiral Pills] was enough to completely destroy three of Krieg's warships. If these ships are comparable to small naval warships, that means Raion alone now has the strength to destroy eight or nine small warships single-handedly.

At this rate of growth, it won't be long before he reaches the threshold for [Chūnin (Intermediate)] draws, unlocking bloodline limits. And now, with [Flying Thunder God Slash] — a speed rivaling [Rokushiki: Soru] — how could Raion not feel excited?

With a total of 15 million Berries, Raion drew one B-rank ninjutsu and three C-rank ninjutsu. After all this, he still had 2 million Berries left.

Rather than using it to draw more techniques, he decided to keep the 2 million as emergency funds.

Later, Raion spent another 8,000 Berries at the Ninja Store to buy a shinobi sword.

Judging by its price, this wasn't exactly a top-quality weapon. The ninja sword Raion purchased was the type of katana without a guard, resembling the Kusanagi blade used by Uchiha Sasuke in Naruto. Of course, this sword was nowhere near the quality of Sasuke's Kusanagi; it was closer to an ordinary katana or a standard Western longsword.

"In the future, I'll definitely get better weapons — like one of the 50 Excellent Grade Swords, or even the 21 O Wazamono blades… maybe even one of the 12 Supreme Grade swords…"

Raion mused over this as he visited a clothing shop, where he spent 50,000 Berries on a gray robe with a sword bag. He slid the ninja sword into the bag and secured it on his back. The sea breeze whipped against the gray robe, giving him the look of a wandering swordsman — mysterious and commanding.

The main reason Raion carried a sword (in Japanese anime, the boundary between katana and ninja swords is often blurred) was because of his ability to channel [Lightning Release – Chidori] through it, enhancing its cutting power with electrifying force. Combined with his self-created technique [White Blade], the sword would only amplify his power.

Raion was in an excellent mood today. Not only had he collected the bounty and acquired new ninjutsu, but his overall strength had also increased significantly. With over a million Berries still in his pocket, he decided Joseph and Johnny deserved a feast.

He found a more upscale restaurant, and as they sat down, Raion said to the duo, "Eat as much as you want today — order whatever you like."

Hearing this, Joseph and Johnny's eyes lit up, and they eagerly grabbed the menu. Sea beast meat, rare sea fish, exotic fruits, and vegetables they had never seen before… they ordered without holding back.

What they didn't notice was that a dozen people sitting not far away had been watching them intently.

Once the dishes were served, the three of them dug in, eating heartily and chatting with joy.

Joseph, talking between mouthfuls, said, "Brother, you're no ordinary person. Everything you've done these past two days has been unbelievable to us."

"Yeah, yeah! When you pulled out that pirate's body out of nowhere, the colonel with glasses was so shocked he couldn't even speak," Johnny added, nodding.

"Haha, 15 million in bounties… we can't even imagine that amount," Joseph continued.

Raion simply smiled at their admiration.

But their enthusiastic chatter drew unwanted attention.

"Especially when I saw big brother blow up Krieg's three warships with my own eyes… I still can't believe it," Joseph said.

"Yeah, that was absolutely insane!" Johnny added.

At that moment, a man from the next table walked over, glaring at them with a cold, hostile look. "You… what did you just say?" he asked.

Joseph frowned in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Johnny scowled, "Mind your own business. Who cares what we talk about? Get back to your seat—"

Wham!

Before Johnny could finish, the man punched him square in the face, knocking him to the floor with a few heavy blows.

"Hey, you bastard!" Joseph shouted, drawing the scimitar at his waist.

The dozen men from the neighboring table stood up and surrounded Raion and his companions.

These were the same people who had been watching them earlier. Hearing from their conversation that the three were pirate hunters, they had grown suspicious.

The man who struck Johnny sneered and demanded again, "I'll ask you one more time — what did you just say?"

Joseph saw Johnny bleeding on the ground, and the sight of the large, muscular men made him nervous, but he still raised his blade and stood firm.

Raion, however, remained calm. He said evenly, "We said that we destroyed three warships of the Krieg Pirates."

The leader's expression darkened. "So it is you. Grab them! Take them to the captain!"

These men were members of the Krieg Pirates. Having received news that three of their battleships had been destroyed, they were out searching for the culprits.

Known as the largest pirate crew in the East Blue, the Krieg Pirates couldn't afford to let outsiders know their fleet had been humiliated. Krieg himself had sent out many men to hunt down whoever had caused this, and this group was just a small part of that force.

By sheer coincidence, they overheard Raion's group talking about it during their meal, and now they were determined to capture them and bring them to Krieg.

With a loud battle cry, the group charged at Raion and Joseph.

Raion's lips curved into a faint smirk. He slowly drew his sword and said, "White Blade."

In an instant, his ninja blade slashed in a smooth arc. Half of the men rushing forward were struck across their stomachs and chests, leaving wounds so deep their bones were visible. Those who were cut fell to the ground, dead before they realized what had happened.

Raion's smile didn't fade. "As I thought, [White Blade] is much stronger with a sword."

With a single swing, only two enemies remained standing. After witnessing such terrifying strength, none of them dared to continue the fight. The survivors panicked and ran away.

Everyone in the restaurant — both diners and staff — had already fled in terror.

Joseph turned to Raion, alarmed. "Brother, they're from the Krieg Pirates! Hurry, we need to chase the survivors and kill Krieg, or he'll come after us!"

"Don't chase them. I let them live on purpose," Raion replied calmly.

"Huh?" Johnny asked, confused.

"I'm counting on Krieg coming here," Raion said with a smirk.

"Uh… okay… I guess big brother's always got a plan," Joseph muttered.

"Then… what about the bill?" Johnny asked nervously.

Raion grinned. "Looking at the situation now, I don't think we need to pay."

The logic was simple: when the owner and staff have fled in fear, who's going to collect payment for the meal?

And so, the three of them enjoyed a fine meal — for free.

There really are free lunches in this world.
