After the coronation ball was over I was walking to the portal home when granny stopped me. She was curious why I had kept water from the dark one's well. I explained that it will be used to make a device that will forewarn me when Morgana gets out. The Grimoire has a page dedicated to such tools. She froze for a second and came with me. I asked her why she didn't trust me. She was insulted, "I do trust you. That book has spell and so on that is beyond me. I am shocked it works. Here I was thinking it wouldn't work. But the potion worked. My daughter is alive. I am interested in my granddaughter's daily life" I asked, "Is the door to Yami closed from your palace because the residents are trying to open so they can burn Nyx to ground. Maybe make you an inmate." She asked me, "Where did you hear it?" I kept walking, "The day of the planetary alignment. There was one person who asked if they managed to open the door. I asked the Grimoire and it showed me your palace." Her face turned red as she spoke in a language I don't understand.
I went home and poured the water into a cauldron. Then dropped in the remnants of the spider in resin pendant and a strand of Morgana's hair. Then I added few strands of saffron, an algae called mermaid's umbrella and dragon's blood. I looked for object I must infuse the spell with. I found a monkey holding two cymbols. I was about to drop it in. Mother and so did granny. They were curious why I would use toy. I grinned,"Because no one in their right mind would believe a toy would something used to forewarn trouble. It is called hiding in plain sight. Even if they discovered that I had made a early warning system this toy would be the last thing they would imagine. In other words they will most likely search this place top to bottom and take something else. Which is why I am making a decoy. So they would believe it is the one" both were impressed. I took a crystal and cast a spell to make it glow bright whenever anyone came near. Then I kept in under lock and key while I kept the toy dangling in the living room. The only other person who knew where the detector was Tiberius.
Then I asked Merida to make different potions. Healing potion. Stun potion. Ones that can set things on fire. Freeze things and so on. She served me lunch and sat down to eat. She left to get the ingredients for potions making. Granny wanted to know why she ate with me. I gave the isn't it obvious face, "If there is a break in and from the supernatural side. She will be eliminated as a suspect. After Morgana's betrayal everyone is having doubts. This is helping her followers gain help. This hurts us more than them." Granny was curious, "I heard Belladonna talk about some people who called themselves the Morganians. Are there people who have pledged allegiance to her service." I waved my hand and the Grimoire appeared, "Have a look" she saw the pages depicting this pledge and she screamed absolute bloody murder. Apparently they helped Priscilla frame her. She is the queen of darkness because of them. She wanted revenge.
I requested she find her sister to get some answers. Granny was stonefaced for a few minutes and then her smile was diabolical. She told mother to go back to the palace and rule the people. She has unfinished business to attend to. Granny walked through the fireplace and she disappeared. Mom went through a full length silver frame. I was left to my devices. I took the book back upstairs. Tiberius came with a letter as I came downstairs. It was a green envelope with snakes drawn with silver ink. It was an invitation from Belladonna. I was summoned to Desdemon. There is no portal to get there. I went to the woods and found a staircase to nowhere. It was a wooden staircase that goes around the tree. But there is all there is. It didn't lead to doorway or tree house or anything. Just a staircase that gives a view once the person reaches the top. I took the envelope and walked up the stairs. I was not alone. Zelmira and Tiberius came too. The sky was permanently dark. I heard thunder.
Belladonna was waiting with her soldiers. They resembled the gargoyles guarding the mansion. She grinned, "Welcome guardian to my humble abode. I heard you uncovered a Morganian plot. I was hoping you will help me uncover the one who broke into my vault. I believe it is a Morganian but I have no proof." I casually reminded her, "I can't summon the Grimoire here. It can't leave the mansion remember. But I will use my ability to find the culprit. I am sure it might a dishonest subordinate." She was surprised to hear but she chose not to comment. I walked into her palace. The courtyard was blackstone with a few dead trees. They looked like macabre hands reaching out for help only to be refused. The palace seems to disappear into the clouds. The bricks seems to be held together with blood. The iron doors opened and green flames ignited on torches to light the way. I asked her to lead the way and she took me to the vault where she kept her prized possession. I sensed the area and I pulled out a crystal wand. I tapped it and the other end projected the events of the past three days. I got to see the young man from the coronation stealing a gold box.
I told her where to find him and she was curious. I explained where I saw him. She took me to the throne room and summoned Granny. She was annoyed to be summoned. She asked who dares to interrupt her interrogation. I politely bowed before I explained that the one we captured during mother's coronation was the one who stole from Queen Belladonna's private vault. She would like a minute to inquire it's whereabouts. Granny stared at me for a moment. She nod to accept my courtesy. She turned to Belladonna and she explained about the crystal wand. We were transported to the dungeons where the man was bound to the floor with angry red fetters. He had burn marks and welts all over. She asked him what he stole. He told her he was sent to do glorious work. He is one of many. Their days are numbered. The gavel is coming down and no one will be spared. I came and smacked him across the face. He stopped talking and I poured a black liquid down his throat. I counted to three and asked him where the box is. He explained it was with Isolde and Alaric. They are going to find a way to unleash Morgana to destroy the realms. He has no clue where they are.
I grinned, "I am sure you know how to contact them. Tell me everything." He grinned as he pointed at a ring. He instructed me to put it on and rub the stone. He promised me Isolde will answer. His smile disappeared as he realized I used a truth potion on him. He screamed in agony and the two queens cackled in delight. I asked her what the box held. She explained it was the skeleton key. It can open any door even the ones which are sealed. I am the only one who knows where Morgana is held so if she escapes it is my fault. Then I explained that there is a spell people can use to find a missing person in a location declared unplottable. If they use it to make a map she can be found even if it wasn't my fault. They stared at me perplexed. I took them upstairs and showed them proof. They burned the map and dismissed me. I was ordered to go home. I was make sure the iron maiden was secured and double security. They are going hunting. I asked her to send someone to guard mom. If they find out that the one Morgana was looking for is her then she will be killed. Granny agreed as she sent me through the fireplace.
