Synopsis
In a world where 80% of the population had superhuman abilities, known as Quirks, Pro Heroes came to prominence. Those who used their powers to protect the citizens. As time went on, Heroes constantly failed to live up to expectations. Those in power eventually grew tired of the disrespect. Heroes became villains. Chief among them, All Might and his prodigy Izuku Midoriya. All Might took a step back and Izuku Midoriya came into his own power. On the other side of the coin, the Hero Commission still held out. There were those that still deemed themselves Heroes. Their number one Hero, Katsuki Bakugo aka Great Explosion Murder God Dynamite, was efficient, but his explosive personality and general disposition was damaging his reputation. As a child he was kidnapped by the League of Villains for his potential for villainy. He worked to overcome it. Deku comes to him with an interesting proposition, even if the means are questionable. What will Bakugo do? Will he continue to be a Hero, or give in to the temptation of villainy?

Chapter 1 - Interview With a Villain

In this superhuman society, 80% of the population possesses some type of uncanny ability. Cities swirled with chaos and confusion following the appearance of these powers, and a new profession emerged. Those who couldn't make it in the world now had power to make their dreams come true. The weak became the powerful, the powerful fell to their hubris. Terror and chaos reigned supreme. Villainy became the new norm. Oh and by the way, my name is Izuku Midoriya and this is how I became the greatest villain of all time.

Izuku(Documentary Style)

~:A news station has decided to make a documentary about the great villain Deku. This is the interview and how it went.

Izuku sits in a chair in front of a camera and adjusts the microphone one of the producers put on him. After making sure the sound levels were good, the producers signaled for the interviewer to begin. Deku was eager to answer some questions:~

Interviewer (Looking into the camera): "Hello viewers and welcome to the Channel 5 Special on everyone's favorite villain Deku. I'm Ryota Oneida and I'm here with Deku, himself. "

(Turning his attention from the camera to Deku) "Now Deku, all of Japan is wondering-"

Deku(Izuku): "Alright, alright. I know you're wondering how a quirkless loser like me became the greatest villain of all time right? Well it almost didn't happen. Quirks normally manifest at a very young age, around five or six years old. My best friend, Katsuki Bakugo-

"Watch it, Nerd! I was never your friend!"

(The camera pans over to pro hero Great Explosion Murder God Dynamite aka Katsuki Bakugo strapped to a chair inside a freezer that is welded shut. Deku knows how his quirk works. If he can't sweat, he can't fire off any explosions)

"Aw Kaachan, you don't have to play coy for the cameras."(Mostly saying it for the cameras)

(The camera pans back over to Deku who has a sadistic little grin on his face. He hold his hand up as if to whisper and points over at freezer where Bakugo is struggling to try and escape)

"Don't let him fool you, we used to be the greatest of pals. Anyway, as I was saying, my best friend got his quirk when he was five. It was the most impressive one. Back then, he was the leader of the pack. As we got older, I still hadn't manifested a quirk. My mother took me to the doctor where I was told that I was one of the twenty percent of people who wouldn't develop a quirk.

As you can imagine, I was devastated, to say the least. I cried and my mother felt so sorry for me that she tried to make me feel better by going out and spending what little money we had on a gift for me. The poor woman, if she knew how her son would turn out…-"

(Deku goes quiet for a moment, his thoughts drifting from the situation entirely to his mother. He was sure he was a huge disappointment to her, he wouldn't know. He stopped talking to her years ago...before that fateful day. The sound of the interviewer clearing his throat brought him back to reality)

Ryota: "Deku, is everything alright"

Deku: (Shaking his head slightly, he smiled at the interviewer and kept going as if nothing happened)

"Ah, yes. Well as you see I spiraled into a depression. It lasted years. Well into middle school. By that time, Pro Heroes like Kaachan over here, had been beaten into submission. Most, if not all had turned to villainy. The phrase "If you can't beat 'em, join' em" comes to mind. My favorite villain was All Might. Don't you just love his catchphrase?

(Deku does his best All Might impression)

"I AM HERE, TO FUCK SHIT UP!"

Ryota: "So, All Might was an inspiration to you?"

Deku: "More like, he's the reason for me becoming who I am. Just wait, I'm getting to that part. So, middle school. Ever since I found out I wasn't going to have a quirk, I was bullied. Mostly by Kaachan. He knows what to say to (Deku wrinkles his nose) really just get under your skin. "

(Banging is heard from the freezer. Bakugo is trying to kick open the freezer from the inside)

Bakugo: "WHEN I GET OUT OF HERE, YOU'RE DEAD DEKU, YOU HEAR ME?! DEAD!"

Deku: (Looks over to the interviewer and hold up a finger to excuse himself)

"One second"

(Deku gets up from his chair and Ryota motions quickly for the cameraman to follow. Deku walks over to the freezer and smiles at Bakugo. The freezer has a bulletproof fire glass in the front. Reaching to the side of the door of the freezer, Deku presses a button. A bit of feedback was heard, an intercom for the freezer)

"Now, Kaachan, it is rude to interrupt when someone is in the middle of a conversation. I'm sure you were taught manners at some point. How about you let me and Ryota talk, Ok? We will have our time. For now, I think you need a nap"

"WHY YOU LITTLE….- "

(Deku presses another button on the side of the freezer and a

Purple gas began to fill the freezer. Bakugo slowly stops struggling and starts to drift off)

Bakugo: Fuck...you (Snoring)

Deku: "Night Night, Kaachan. I know your dreaming of me"

(He knew the camera was watching and chuckled softly before turning to look at the camera)

"A gift from my friend Miss Midnight. I knew it would come in handy. "

Ryota: ( Signals the camera back to him. )

" Miss Midnight's quirk allows her to emit a gas from her body that causes anyone to breathe it in, to fall asleep for a period of time. How long is unknown"

(Deku walks back over to the chair where he was sitting and gets comfortable again)

"Now, where was I?"

Ryota: "You were telling our viewers about your time in middle school. "

Deku: "Right, Yes. Middle School. Like I said, all throughout middle school, Kaachan here, teased me nonstop. As a matter of fact, he is how I got the name Deku. It means useless. That used to be the nickname he gave me. Now look who's useless.

Anyway, once I graduated middle school, I was in such a state of depression that I really didn't feel like I could keep going. In fact, nobody really knows this, but I tried to end it. "

Ryota: (An audible gasp from Ryota and a look of concern. He sent a hand signal to the cameraman to zoom in, the viewers were gonna eat this up)

"Wow, I would have never thought.."

Deku: "Yes, I know it's hard to believe. Actually, if I never would have tried to kill myself. I never would have gotten started on my path to success that I am on now.

It all started about a week before graduation. I was having a particularly bad episode that day. Before I got to school, there was a villain trying to rob a store. A hero tried to intervene but the shopkeeper and the other citizens chased him away. They could handle their own problems. The time for heroes was over. It seemed to get out of hand because the police blocked off the streets. While trying to get through so that I could get to school on time, a call came through on one of the police radios. A bank robbery was in progress.

Well obviously that is more important than some citizens who already beat the heroes ass. So they allowed the crowd to disperse. Stupid heroes were always causing trouble. I ran as fast as I could to school. I hated the place, but I can't abide by tardiness. While in class, the teacher decided that we would discuss our high school careers. Since villainy was on the rise, we now had schools that taught the next generation of villains how to be badass. There were still hero schools, but nobody wanted to be a hero. "

Ryota: "Your friend over there became a hero. He is an outlier then?"

Deku: "Kaachan is a "special" case. We kind of drove each other to be who we are today.

Anyway, While we were in class, our teacher asked Kaachan if he was thinking about applying to V.A. The top villain school in the country. Naturally, with Kaachan's impressive quirk, he was a shoo in to get accepted. Truth is, I wanted to apply too, but I knew that without a quirk, there was no way I would be able to make it. One thing I did have going for me was that I like to take notes. "

Ryota: "Notes? About what?"

Deku: "About everything. Villains quirks, heroes quirks. How they work, how to beat them. Ways that support gear could help. I'm a stickler for the details. Anywho, for some reason the teacher decided to put out that I voiced an interest in V.A and of course that set off Kaachan. He told me that I would never get into V.A without a quirk and to not even think about trying to get in.

I was so embarrassed. I never really paid attention in class. I was always writing in my notebook. Kaachan saw it and told me that I was useless and so was my notebook. He snatched it off my desk and tossed it out the open window. It landed in a small fountain outside. As soon as he did that, class was over. I ran outside to grab my notebook. It was everything to me back then.

My notebook was ruined. Stupid Kaachan. I put the ruined notebook in my bag and started home. I felt that I didn't belong. I didn't have a quirk so I wasn't suitable to be a villain or a hero. I was a weakling, there was nothing for me there. There was a bridge on the way home over an abandoned dried up lake. It was man made so there was concrete underneath. Maybe if I just ended it, everything would be better for everyone. My mother wouldn't have that look of constant pity when she looked at me. The burden of having a quirkless son. So I stopped on that bridge and stood there. Should I? It would be better.

Ryota: "What happened on that bridge, Deku?"

Deku: "I jumped…" (Deku's voice trailed off again. )

Ryota: (Turning to the camera)

"And on that note, we will take a quick commercial break" "Cut!"

(Turning back to Deku as the camera shut off)

"Are you good to keep going?"

Deku: (Shaking his head once more he blinked a few times before looking at Ryota)

"I am good, just give me a second to make a quick phone call.."

Ryota: "Alright, you have three minutes" (He tapped his watch)

Deku: "Gotcha. "

( He walked over to the freezer and pulled out his phone and dialed a number. He spoke in a hushed angry whisper)

"Where are you?! You were supposed to pick up Kaachan hours ago! Midnight's powder isn't going to hold for very long. He wasn't supposed to be here for this interview"

Mystery Person: "Calm down, don't get your panties in a bunch. I'll be there in a minute. I just got caught up with something"

Deku: "He needs to be gone before the end of this interview. If we don't get him back, things are going to get very ugly"

Mystery Person: "Like I said, I'll be there in a minute. Go ahead with your interview..you're doing great by the way. Keep it up"

Deku: "This better work. I don't want to have to show that side of me on national tv"

( Deku hung up the phone and walked back over to the freezer pressing a small button. Hopefully this would hold till they got there. He really didn't want to have to fight Katsuki on TV.

Walking back over to Ryota, he smiled and nodded)

Deku: "Let's pick up where we left off, shall we?"

(Ryota motioned for the camera guy to get ready to resume from commercial break. They only had a few seconds to get back into place. As Deku sat back down in his seat, Ryota fixed his tie and the cameraman signaled the five second countdown. As the cameraman got to one Ryota was ready. He needed to hear the rest of this story)

Ryota: (Looking into the camera with a somber look in his eyes, he signed softly)

"And we are back. If you are just tuning in with us, we are here with Deku. The number one villain in all of Japan. Just to recap, we learned that he wasn't always the calm, cold, calculating villain we all know. He used to be bullied a lot and he almost, one fateful day, took his own life…"

(Turning back to Deku, the camera pans from Ryota to Deku, who has somehow managed to eek out a tear for dramatic effect)

"Can you tell us about that day?"

Deku: "Well, I was standing on that bridge and I looked down at the rocks below. All I could think was that everyone would be better off. I climbed over the railing and stood on the ledge. Looking up, I apologized to my mother before jumping…

When I began to fall. I felt weightless, I closed my eyes and saw nothing but darkness, peace. All of that was interrupted. Instead of falling to my death like I wanted, so badly. I landed into what I could only describe as a huge pile of mud. It turned out to be a low level sludge monster villain. He happened to be walking under the bridge at the same time I was falling and inadvertently stopped my impending death. "

Ryota: (Motioning for the camera to pan back to him, he referenced the date in question as the sludge monster was all over the news that day for attempting to rob a bank and running away from the heroes. His tone had changed from the upbeat and inquisitive nature the interview began with. It was now somber and serious)

"We all remember that day"

Deku: "I didn't know what happened. I should have been dead. I opened my eyes and couldn't move. The sludge monster was trying to get into my mouth and take over my body. His quirk allowed him to take over a person's body and use their quirk against their will. At first I panicked then thought, maybe this will kill me. I don't have a quirk for him to use. I stopped resisting. This was it. I closed my eyes and let him take over.

All of a sudden, I felt my body explode out of the muck. I landed about twenty feet away from the sludge monster and got knocked unconscious. I don't remember how long I was out but when I came to, I saw flashes of red and yellow. Blonde hair and fists flying. All Might was beating the shit out of the sludge monster. Apparently that bank job was to pay All Might back some money he owed. As my head cleared, I heard All Might's voice. That booming voice is so distinctive. He was gathering the monster into a soda bottle.

He said "I AM HERE NOW, MOTHERFUCKER. You're coming with me and showing me where you stashed my money. Then I MAY think about letting you go. "

Ryota: (His expression changed again. He was now back into his inquisitive nature. Most knew about the bank job. That villain was captured at the time so he went to jail. Hearing the details that no one knew? That was a journalist's dream. He was on the edge of his seat hanging on every word at this point)

"Sounds like All Might saved the day?"

Deku: "He did, but at the time I was just pissed he fucked up my suicide"

(Ryota, while not in view of the camera, motioned for the editor to mark the spot so that they could censor the curse words spoken. While this was live at the time, their network was already in hot water for the Midnight interview. No woman should be allowed to show that much skin on live tv. On reruns of this interview, it would be censored)

Deku: "As he was walking away with the sludge monster in the bottle, all I could feel was rage. I stupidly got up and charged at him from behind and beat on his back. I yelled at him. I saw red and nothing else mattered. He turned around and looked at me for a second before shoving me. I was pushed about fifteen feet away and fell to the ground and looked up at him. While admittedly, he hardly touched me, that little touch sent me flying. I could see why he was the number one villain. He shook his head and looked at me and said.."

"I'm sorry kid, but what the fuck do you want from me? This motherfucker was going to take over your body and use your quirk to get out of paying me my money. It's not personal, kid. Just business. "

"I, of course, didn't care about any of that. I just wanted to die. I stood up and looked him straight in his piercing blue eyes. Tears streaming down my face…

"I just wanted to die! You took that from me!"

All Might, is not very good with emotion. He looked at me with the most confused look. He shrugged his shoulders and put the soda bottle full of the sludge monster in his back pocket.

"Sorry kid, Look at it this way. Now whoever made you feel that way, you can go fuck them up. Don't think about it, just do it. It will make you feel better. Don't ever let anyone get you to that point"

With that, he turned heel and took flight. I don't know why, but when he said that, a switch inside me flipped. I didn't want to die anymore. I wanted to learn how not to be weak so that I could get back my life. Without thinking, my body moved forward, and I grabbed onto his leg before he got off the ground.

Ryota: "So All Might inspired you to live?"

Deku: "Yes, he did. You could call him my her-

(All of a sudden there was an explosion that shook the entire building. The manager of the building was running down the hallway and telling everyone they needed to evacuate. Ryota and the cameraman ran for the door. The cameraman, trying to get as much footage as possible. It was followed by another explosion and the ceiling of the room they were in collapsed. Deku simply moved from his spot to the corner of the room out of the way of debris. A single red feather weaved in and out of the debris and made its way over to Deku, poking his shoulder. )

Deku: (Shaking his head in slight annoyance)

"Took you long enough! Keigo, hurry the fuck up. This powder isn't going to last much longer!"

Keigo: (Keigo Takami aka Hawks, number three villain was responsible for the explosion topside. They needed a way to get the freezer out. They couldn't just roll it out the front door in the middle of a live tv interview)

"Keep your panties on! I'm coming. Controlling this many feathers at one time isn't as easy as you think!"

(Keigo's quirk gave him a set of wings with bright red feathers. With these wings, he could send out his feathers and control them at will. He could also weaponize them and use them as weapons. Within a few seconds, Hawks came down into the room through the hole the blast created. )

Deku: "For fucks sake, it shouldn't have taken you that long to get the bomb from Toga! What the fuck were you doing?!"

Keigo: "Well, Um…"

Deku: (Deku shook his head and held up his hand for Keigo to stop talking)

"You know what? I don't want to know. Just help me get this hooked up to the harness."

Keigo: (He called his feathers back and moved to the freezer holding the sleeping, Bakugo.)

"Iida! Send down the cables!"

Tenya: "I'm not sure these will hold! They don't seem strong enough!

Keigo: "Just send the fucking cables! We need to move!"

(Tenya Iida, Number 4 villain, was in charge of the getaway. He had a helicopter flying overhead. The plan was to lift the freezer out of the building and get it to the safehouse. So far, they were behind schedule. Iida sent down the cables.)

Deku: (Climbing on top of the freezer began to attach the cables to two supports that were built on top specifically for this. As they were attached securely. He signaled for Iida to bring them up. As they were almost out of the building, Bakugo began to wake up inside. )

"Sorry Kaachan, just a little bit longer. "

(Hoping there was a bit more left in the reservoir, he reached down and pressed the button once more. Nothing happened)

"Fuck! Keigo, he's waking up! There's no more powder. Get your ass up here!"

Keigo: (Flies out of the hold up to the top of the freezer. Bakugo was waking up fast. He had to think quickly. Honestly it probably would just be faster for him to fly him to the safehouse himself. He looked over to Deku)

"Climb up and tell Iida to drop another charge down to me. I have an idea. When I signal, you and Iida get this bird as far away as possible and stash it somewhere. "

Deku: "Are you sure this is going to work?"

Keigo: "I'll handle the hothead; you get out of here. Go!"

Deku: (Deku growled out of frustration. This wasn't how this was supposed to go. He climbed up the cable and into the cabin of the helicopter)

"Tenya, I need another charge. No time for concerns and shit right now. Just give it to me"

(He knew Iida would object but he didn't have time for all that right now.)

Tenya: "I hope you know what you're doing."

(Tenya handed Deku another explosive charge)

Deku: (Taking the charge, he dropped it down to Keigo and told Iida the plan.)

Keigo: (Taking the charge, he placed it on top of the freezer and set the time and flew away from it. A few seconds later the charge went off creating a hole in the top of the freezer, just big enough for Keigo to fit inside. Moving back to the top, he jumped down into the freezer and grabbed Bakugo and headed towards the safehouse. Luckily the brat wasn't fully awake yet. As he flew past the helicopter, he sent a feather back to signal to Iida to get the chopper away from them and stash it somewhere safe.)

Deku: "Tenya, let's go home. Get Toga on the phone so that we can get home. I'll be damned if I'm walking after all this. "
