Mark and Ben sat together in the library, surrounded by stacks of books and notes scattered across the table. They were deep in discussion about the assignment given by Miss Rena on historical research on ancient science and languages.
"I'm thinking of focusing on ancient Egypt," Ben said, flipping through a book on Egyptian hieroglyphs. "Their contributions to mathematics and medicine were incredible."
"That's a great idea," Mark replied, nodding in agreement. "But I'm leaning towards ancient Greece. Their philosophers and scientists made significant contributions to Western thought."
"Yeah, that's true," Ben said. "But I think ancient Egypt's architecture and engineering feats are just as impressive. Have you seen the pyramids?"
Mark smiled. "Of course, I've seen pictures. But I think I'll stick with ancient Greece. What about the language aspect? Are you going to focus on hieroglyphs or demotic script?"
Ben thought for a moment. "I think I'll explore both. Hieroglyphs are so fascinating, and demotic script is an important part of Egyptian language history."
As they continued discussing their ideas, their conversation flowed easily, and their passion for history and science shone through. They were both excited to dive deeper into their research and present their findings in class.
After a while, they decided to divide their tasks, with Ben focusing on ancient Egyptian science and language, and Mark exploring ancient Greek philosophy and science. They worked together seamlessly, their collaboration a testament to their strong partnership.
As the library began to close, they packed up their belongings, already looking forward to their next study session. "I'm really looking forward to presenting our findings," Mark said, smiling at Ben.
"Me too," Ben replied, grinning back. "Let's make it a great presentation!"
With a shared sense of purpose, they left the library, ready to tackle their historical research assignment and showcase their knowledge to Miss Rena and the rest of the class.
After leaving the library, Mark and Ben headed to Ben's place to grab a bite to eat and continue working on their assignment. As they walked into Ben's room in the hostel , the room was still in the aroma of Ben's cooking in the morning was still in the air, this maded their stomachs growl with anticipation.
"Hey, I will be cooking in the kitchen please, just set the things for our research ready to go when we are done eating ok," Ben said, while Mark replied "alright on it. After what felt like hours Ben cooking ended and he brought it to Mark were he was sitting "We've got a spread of puddings, grid cheese with pancakes and rice with peppery sauce..... We need the extra sugar if we wanna work progress."
Mark's eyes widened as he took in the delicious spread. "This looks amazing! Your cooking is always on point."
Ben smiled, proud of his mom's culinary skills. "Yeah, she's the best. Let's dig in!"
As they ate, they chatted about their research, discussing their findings and ideas. After lunch, they settled in at Ben's desk, laptops and phones at the ready.
Ben opened up his laptop, while Mark pulled out his phone. "Alright, let's get back to work," Ben said, typing away on his keyboard. "I'll start researching more on ancient Egyptian medicine, and you can focus on Greek philosophers."
Mark nodded, scrolling through his phone. "Sounds good to me. I'll look into Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle."
As they worked, the room was filled with the sound of typing and occasional murmurs of "Ah-ha!" or "Interesting!" whenever one of them stumbled upon a valuable piece of information.
Ben's laptop screen glowed with websites and articles on ancient Egyptian science, while Mark's phone lit up with notes and research papers on Greek philosophy. They worked in comfortable silence, their focus on their research palpable.
Every now and then, they'd look up and share a finding or ask a question. "Hey, Mark, did you know that Imhotep was an Egyptian polymath who designed the Step Pyramid?" Ben asked, eyes wide with excitement.
"That's cool!" Mark replied, looking up from his phone. "I've been reading about Hippocrates, the father of medicine. He was a Greek physician who lived around the same time as Imhotep."
Their conversation flowed easily, and their collaboration continued to bear fruit as they gathered more information and insights for their assignment. As the afternoon wore on, they made significant progress, their research and notes growing more comprehensive.
With their hunger sated and their minds engaged, Mark and Ben worked tirelessly, fueled by their curiosity and passion for ancient science and languages.
As the night wore on, Mark and Ben continued their research, pouring over their notes and books. Ben's eyelids began to droop, and he leaned forward, his head nodding. Mark noticed Ben's fatigue and smiled sympathetically.
Before long, Ben's head dropped onto his arms, and he fell fast asleep, surrounded by papers and books. Mark chuckled softly, amused by the sight. He gently shook Ben's shoulder, but he didn't stir.
Mark carefully got up from his chair and walked over to Ben. He gently lifted Ben's arms and wrapped them around his own shoulders, supporting his boyfriend's weight. With Ben leaning against him, Mark guided him to the bed, where he gently laid him down.
As Ben settled into the bed, Mark gathered the scattered papers, books, and notes, carefully organizing them into a neat pile. He placed them on the desk, making sure everything was tidy and in its place.
With their workspace organized, Mark returned to the bed, where Ben was still fast asleep. Mark slipped under the covers beside Ben, feeling a sense of comfort and camaraderie. He smiled to himself, happy to have been able to help his Ben get some rest. With a contented sigh, Mark closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, the soft sound of Ben's gentle breathing a soothing accompaniment.
Ben slowly opened his eyes, rubbing the sleep from them. He blinked a few times, taking in his surroundings. As his gaze swept the room, he noticed that he was in his own bed, surrounded by familiar walls and furniture. He looked around, taking in the tidy desk, the closed books, and the organized notes.
His eyes landed on Mark, who was still fast asleep beside him. Ben's expression softened, and a gentle smile spread across his face. He looked at Mark with affection, remembering the previous night's research session and how Mark had helped him get to bed.
Ben's gaze lingered on Mark's peaceful face, and he felt a sense of gratitude and appreciation for his boyfriend. He carefully sat up, trying not to disturb Mark, and looked around the room again, taking in the details of the previous night's activities.
As he swung his legs over the side of the bed, Ben noticed the time on his clock. His eyes widened in surprise, realizing he had slept in later than he usually did. He gently got out of bed, trying not to wake Mark, where Mark was still sleeping peacefully. He gently shook Mark's shoulder, trying to rouse him from his slumber.
"Mark, wake up," Ben said softly. "We're running late."
Mark groggily opened his eyes, rubbing the sleep from them. "What's the time?" he mumbled, his voice husky from sleep.
"It's 6:39 am," Ben replied, his voice a bit more urgent. "We need to get moving if we're going to make it to class on time."
Mark's eyes snapped open, and he sat up with a start. "Whoa, I didn't realize it was so late," he said, throwing off the covers.
Ben chuckled. "You were out cold. I guess all that research finally caught up with you."
Mark yawned, stretching his arms over his head. "Yeah, I guess so. Let's get moving. We don't want to be late for Mr Joe's class."
Ben nodded, already heading towards the door. "I'll get the breakfast ready while you get dressed, OK there is an extra clothing on the hanger, they are your clothes from before.... So get dressed in those I had to keep them clean. We can eat on the go."
Mark quickly got dressed in his spare clothes that he left in Ben's room in the hostel, and they both rushed out the door, grabbing their bags and heading to class, hoping to make it on time.
Ben and Mark rushed out of Ben's room, grabbing their bags and sprinting towards the university campus. They ran as fast as they could, their footsteps pounding the pavement in unison.
"We can't miss Mr. Joe's class!" Ben exclaimed, his voice laced with urgency. "He's notorious for being strict about punctuality!"
Mark nodded in agreement, his eyes fixed on the clock tower in the distance. "I know, I know! Let's move, we can make it!"
As they ran, they dodged pedestrians and cyclists, their bags bouncing against their backs. They finally reached the campus gates and sprinted towards the math building, their hearts racing with exertion.
Breathless, they burst through the classroom door, just as Mr. Joe was writing on the board. They slipped into their seats, trying to compose themselves, while Mr. Joe gave them a stern look.
"Ah, welcome, gentlemen," Mr. Joe said dryly. "Glad you could join us. Let's hope you're not here just to sleep through the class."
Ben and Mark exchanged a relieved glance, grateful they had made it on time. They settled in, ready to focus on the lesson and catch up on any material they might have missed.
The math class was in full swing, with Mr. Joe enthusiastically lecturing on the topic of differential equations. He wrote complex formulas on the board, effortlessly explaining the concepts and illustrating them with real-world examples.
As he taught, Mr. Joe kept asking questions, probing the students' understanding and encouraging them to think critically. "Can anyone tell me why we use the integrating factor in solving first-order linear differential equations?" he asked, scanning the room for a response.
Several hands shot up, and Mr. Joe called on a student who confidently explained the reasoning behind the integrating factor. Mr. Joe nodded, impressed, and asked follow-up questions, pushing the student to think more deeply about the concept.
Ben and Mark were engaged in the discussion, actively participating and asking questions to clarify their understanding. Mr. Joe's teaching style was infectious, and the class was filled with a sense of excitement and curiosity.
As the class progressed, Mr. Joe posed more questions, challenging the students to apply the concepts to different scenarios. "What would happen if we changed the coefficient of the derivative term?" he asked, encouraging the students to think creatively.
The students eagerly responded, sharing their thoughts and insights. Mr. Joe provided feedback, guiding them towards the correct solutions and fostering a sense of collaboration and discovery.
The class flew by, and before they knew it, the bell rang, signaling the end of the period. As the students packed up their bags, Mr. Joe smiled, satisfied with the progress they had made. "Remember, practice makes perfect," he said, handing out worksheets with additional problems. "Keep working on those differential equations, and we'll tackle more challenging topics next class."
Ben and Mark left the classroom, feeling invigorated and motivated. They were grateful for Mr. Joe's teaching style, which made complex math concepts accessible and enjoyable.
As they walked out of the classroom, Ben turned to Mark and said, "Hey, that was close! We almost got late to Mr. Joe's class."
Mark nodded in agreement. "I know, right? I'm glad we made it just in time. I don't think Mr. Joe would have been happy if we were late."
Ben chuckled. "Yeah, he's pretty strict about punctuality. But we made it, and the class was actually pretty interesting today."
Mark smiled. "Definitely. I love how Mr. Joe teaches. He makes math so engaging and interactive."
Ben nodded. "Yeah, he's one of the best professors I've had. Okay, so what did you think of the differential equations lesson today?"
Mark thought for a moment before responding. "I think I understand the basics, but I need to practice more to get a better grasp of it. How about you?"
Ben shrugged. "Same here. I think we should work on some more problems together to solidify our understanding."
Mark agreed, and they made plans to meet up later that day to study and work on their math homework together. As they walked to their next class, they continued discussing their plans and strategies for mastering the material.
After their math class, Ben and Mark headed to their club activities, eager to dive into their passion for drama. They were both members of the school's drama club, and today's session was a crucial rehearsal for their upcoming play.
As they arrived at the auditorium, they were greeted by their fellow club members, all buzzing with excitement. The director, Mrs. Thompson, welcomed them warmly and outlined the plan for the rehearsal.
The next few hours were a whirlwind of activity, with the group running through scenes, perfecting their lines, and fine-tuning their performances. Ben and Mark were in their element, throwing themselves into their roles and bringing their characters to life.
Mrs. Thompson offered constructive feedback and guidance, helping the actors to refine their craft. The energy in the room was electric, with everyone working together towards a common goal.
As the rehearsal drew to a close, Ben and Mark felt exhilarated, their creative juices flowing freely. They high-fived each other, grinning from ear to ear.
"That was amazing!" Ben exclaimed. "I feel like we're really getting into the zone."
Mark nodded enthusiastically. "Totally! I love the energy of the group. We're going to knock it out of the park with this play."
The drama club members began to disperse, chatting about their plans for the next rehearsal. Ben and Mark lingered, discussing their scenes and making last-minute adjustments.
As they left the auditorium, Ben turned to Mark and said, "You know, I'm really looking forward to the performance. It's going to be epic."
Mark smiled, already imagining the applause and accolades. "Definitely. Let's make it happen!"
After the drama club rehearsal, Ben and Mark parted ways, heading to their respective hostels to settle in for the night. As they entered their rooms, they both felt a sense of relief wash over them, eager to dive back into their historical research on ancient science and languages.
Ben flopped onto his bed, laptop already in hand, and began scouring through online archives and academic papers on ancient Egyptian medicine. He took notes, highlighted important points, and bookmarked relevant websites for future reference.
Meanwhile, Mark settled into his desk chair, surrounded by stacks of books and notes on ancient Greek philosophy. He scribbled down quotes from Aristotle and Plato, analyzing their perspectives on the natural world and the role of science in society.
As they worked, the silence of their rooms was punctuated only by the soft glow of their laptops and the occasional rustle of pages turning. They were both absorbed in their research, lost in the fascinating world of ancient civilizations.
Hours passed, and the night wore on, but Ben and Mark remained engrossed, driven by their passion for discovery and learning. They were determined to uncover the secrets of the past, to understand the achievements and challenges of ancient cultures, and to share their findings with the world.
As the clock struck midnight, Ben finally closed his laptop, feeling satisfied with the progress he'd made. Mark, too, set aside his books, his mind buzzing with ideas and insights. Both of them knew they'd have to continue their research the next day, but for now, they could rest, their minds filled with the wonders of ancient science and languages.
Ben and Mark woke up to the sound of their alarms blaring in their ears. They groggily opened their eyes, rubbed the sleep from them, and reached for their phones to check the time. Their eyes widened as they saw 6:59 AM flashing on the screen.
"Ah no, we're going to be late!" Ben exclaimed, jumping out of bed.
Mark shouted to himself, scrambling to get dressed. "what Come on, I need to go get dressed! I don't want to miss Mr Joe class again!"
Both of them rushed around their rooms, grabbing their clothes and hurrying to get ready for what they thought was a typical weekday morning. They didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until they were fully dressed and ready to head out. Both boys meet up and were going together to class.
It wasn't until they were standing in the hallway, about to head to the classroom, that Ben glanced at his phone again and noticed the date. His eyes scanned the screen, and his expression changed from panic to confusion.
"Wait a minute...," Ben said, his voice trailing off.
Mark looked at him quizzically. "What's wrong?"
Ben showed Mark his phone screen. "It's Saturday. We don't have classes today."
Mark's face fell as he realized their mistake. "Oh man, we're so used to the weekday routine, I totally forgot it's the weekend!"
Ben chuckled. "I guess we can take a deep breath and relax. No rush to get to class today."
Mark grinned. "Yeah, let's grab breakfast and plan out our weekend instead."
With their morning panic subsiding, they headed to the cafeteria, ready to enjoy a leisurely Saturday morning.
As they walked to the nearby cafeteria, Ben and Mark couldn't help but laugh at themselves. "I can't believe we got dressed for class on a Saturday," Ben chuckled, shaking his head.
Mark joined in, his laughter echoing through the morning air. "I know, right? We're so conditioned to the weekday routine, I guess our brains just automatically went into 'class mode'."
Ben grinned. "I was already imagining us rushing to Mr. Joe's math class, and then it hits me – it's Saturday! No math class, no drama club rehearsal... just a relaxing weekend ahead."
Mark nodded, still chuckling. "I'm just glad we didn't try to go to class. Can you imagine showing up to an empty classroom?"
The thought of it sent them both into fits of laughter again. As they entered the cafeteria, they were still grinning at each other's silly mistake.
Over breakfast, they teased each other good-naturedly about their error. "Hey, Mark, you're really committed to the whole 'student' thing, aren't you?" Ben joked.
Mark playfully rolled his eyes. "Hey, someone's got to keep you on track, Ben!"
Their laughter and banter filled the cafeteria, drawing smiles from the other patrons. As they enjoyed their meal, Ben and Mark were already looking forward to the rest of their weekend, mistake-free.
Over breakfast, Ben and Mark took their time to discuss their plans for the weekend. They sat back, relaxed, and began to go over their schedule.
"Okay, so let's review what we need to do," Ben said, pulling out his notebook. "We've got math homework due soon, and we need to practice those differential equations before the next class."
Mark nodded, taking a sip of his coffee. "Yeah, let's make sure we get some practice problems done today. We can work on them together."
Ben nodded in agreement. "Sounds good. How about our historical research? We've got to keep working on that ancient science project."
Mark pulled out his own notes. "I've been thinking about our approach on this research project. Let's divide up the topics and work on our sections individually."
Ben nodded, impressed. "That's a great idea. Touch on Aristotle and Plato while I focus on my Egyptian studies and works on drugs and language. We can compare notes and compile our findings later."
With their plan in place, they spent the next few hours working on their math practice problems and historical research. They took breaks, discussed their progress, and offered feedback to each other. It went dark at the cafeteria so they order takeout and went to Ben's room to complete everything they trying to solve.
As the morning wore on, they felt a sense of accomplishment and momentum. They were on track to meet their deadlines, and their collaboration was proving to be productive.
"Let's review what we've got so far," Ben said, summarizing their progress. "We've got our math practice problems covered, and we're making good progress on our historical research. We've got a solid plan in place to finish everything before Monday."
Mark smiled, feeling confident. "I think we're good to go. Let's keep working and make the most of our weekend."
With renewed energy and focus, Ben and Mark dove back into their work, ready to tackle the challenges ahead.
