Max didn't have the leisure of checking the skills as he was currently on his knees, huffing and panting. His MP was now low, his face slightly bruised and bleeding, and his entire body ached from the aftermath of the battle.

"Oh my God." The woman dashed forward as she crouched down beside Max, panic evident on her face as she saw her saviour injured. "I'm so sorry you had to go through this because of me. I'm so sorry."

"It's… it's fine," Max groaned out as he managed to push himself up with the help of the woman, every movement making his muscles scream in protest.

"Thank you so much for saving me… if… if you hadn't come on time, who knows what those hoodlums would have done to me," the woman said, trembling slightly as she recalled the fear and helplessness she had felt just minutes ago.

"You're welcome," Max muttered as he turned to walk away, his hands tucked into his pockets.

'If it wasn't for the quest I had received, I wouldn't have cared. I really don't want to have anything to do with women after what Suz did t—'

Tring.

{MP is terribly low. Host needs to replenish MP as soon as possible or else…}

'Huh? Or else what?! Wait! Replenish MP? How do I do that?' Max thought in confusion, his steps faltering when blue particles began shimmering into view and Pix appeared in front of him like a floating projection.

'Why are you out here?! What if she sees you?'

"Don't worry, host. You are the only one who ca—"

"Excuse me." The woman called out, walking toward Max, who turned around slowly. "I never did get your name."

"My name?" Max muttered and then shook his head. "There's no need to know that."

"Oh, I see." The woman sighed, then stretched her hand forward. "I'm Lizzy, by the way. Thank you once again for saving me."

"You're welcome," Max simply said as he turned to walk away again when Lizzy called out once more.

"Please wait. Why don't you allow me to thank you properly? You're terribly injured because of me. Let me take you home so I can treat your injuries," Lizzy offered, her eyes full of sincerity. But Max shook his head as he kept walking away.

"I'm fine…"

"No, you are not," Pix quickly cut him off, voice now more urgent. "If you don't restore your MP, not only will your disguise come undone, something else would happen. And the only way to replenish your MP is by having sex."

"Wait, what?!" Max shouted aloud, coming to a halt. He was too stunned to move or even breathe properly for a second.

"That's right. Your Draconic powers are all linked to sex. The more you do that, the more your powers increase. And to replenish your MP, you need to…"

"Have sex," Max mumbled, gulping loudly as the realization hit him.

"And lucky for you, the universe has presented an opportunity on a silver platter. Don't reject this delicious meal," Pix chuckled before dissolving from Max's view, leaving only silence behind.

"Please… allow me to treat your injuries as a thank you. Don't refuse me," Lizzy pleaded again, her voice softer this time, almost vulnerable.

Max was about to refuse, his instincts screaming at him, but something deep within stopped him.

Tring.

{MP: 8/100}

'Shit! I don't know what will happen if my MP depletes completely, and I don't want to find out the wrong way. What do I do now?' Max thought, a nervous sweat breaking out on his back as skepticism clouded his judgment.

'How can I even do it? I've never done it before. I can't save Lizzy from those hoodlums that wanted to sleep with her and then end up sleeping with her instead. That's totally wrong. It makes me no different from them… right?'

His heart pounded harder as he stood there, torn between necessity and morality.

"Not when your life is on the line is it." Pix sounded in Max's mind.

"So what do you say about my offer?" Lizzy asked once more when she heard the strange man sigh.

"Fine." Max muttered and Lizzy's face instantly lit up as she grabbed her bag from the ground and dashed towards Max.

"Let's go." She said as she grabbed Max by the hand and began walking out of the alleyway leaving the hoodlums unconscious and groaning in pain.

When leaving the alleyway, they got to the main streets in no time and Lizzy quickly hailed down a taxi and she got in followed by Max.

"22 avenue street please." Lizzy said and the taxi driver got to work.

'You know, when I noticed that I wasn't in my body anymore, I thought I would get reincarnated in a whole different world. With vampires or werewolves. But I'm thankful that I'm in a world I kind of recognise.

Though, this place feels different and weird. It's like I'm in my world but in a different place all together. I can't explain this feel…'

{MP: 7/100}

'Crap! It's rapidly reducing. What do I do now?' Max thought as his body was suddenly feeling weird, his heartbeat quickened as he glanced at Lizzy who had a small smile on her face.

*Screech!*

The cab came to a halt in front of a small bungalow.

"We are here." The driver announced.

"Thank you." Lizzy said as she got out of the car and so did Max and the female quickly paid as she grabbed Max by the hand and led him into the gate of the bungalow.

"You live alone?" Max asked as he stared at the size of the bungalow which looked like it was too much for a girl of Lizzy's age.

"No." Lizzy replied as she pushed the door to the house open. "Oh?! She's back home?" She muttered beneath her breath.

"Who's back home?" Max asked with a raised eyebrow.

"My mum." Lizzy simply replied as she opened the door and ushered Max in.

The bungalow's interior gave off a quiet sense of understated comfort. Stepping through the front door, Max found himself in a spacious living room, its polished wooden floors stretching beneath his feet.

Cream-colored walls framed the space, accented by dark wood skirting boards. A large L-shaped couch in soft gray fabric sat in the center, facing a sleek, wall-mounted flat-screen TV.

A low coffee table with a glossy black surface rested in front of it, cluttered only with a remote and a half-finished magazine.

To one side, an archway led to a small dining area with a round glass table and four chairs tucked neatly around it.

The kitchen was tucked just beyond, visible from the living room and a compact but well-fitted space with polished countertops, modern appliances, and dark cabinets that contrasted against pale tiled walls.

Down the short hallway branching off the living room, three doors lined the right and left. One opened into a modest guest room with a neatly made single bed, a desk pushed up against the wall, and a wardrobe.

Another room served as a small office, housing nothing but a simple desk, chair, and a shelf stacked with old files and books.

"And that door, leads to her room." Lizzy pointed towards the far end of the hallway that led to the master bedroom. "Come on, let's go to the guest room so I can tend to your injuries."
