Chapter 14 - Heart to Heart! The Wolf King's Iron-Blooded Business Methods

Green eyes were getting closer and closer, and low threatening voices were coming from all directions.

"At least twenty." Lucas gripped the dagger tightly, "And they are pure-blooded wild wolves, not those semi-domesticated pets."

Daniel felt Gina's body tense in his arms. The awakening of her bloodline had consumed a lot of her energy. Although she was a little bigger now, she was still weak against a real wolf pack.

"Let's pretend to be dead." Daniel said suddenly.

"What?" Lucas thought he had misheard.

"Wolves are very aggressive, but they have no interest in dead things." Daniel analyzed quickly, "Especially dead things that smell of blood."

As he spoke, he grabbed a handful of burning wood ash from the ground and smeared it on his face, then motioned Lucas to do the same.

"Are you crazy? What if you get caught..."

"Trust me." Daniel's voice was firm.

At this moment, a system prompt sounded in his mind:

[The host and the partner's emotional synchronization has reached the threshold]

[Telepathy skill activating...]

[Connection established successfully]

In an instant, Daniel felt his consciousness surrounded by a warm current. Then, a cold and familiar voice sounded in his mind.

"Daniel?"

This is Gina's voice! It's not the whimpering of a kitten, but the voice of an adult woman, calm but with a hint of trembling.

Daniel almost cried out in surprise, but he held it back. He responded through his mind: "It's me. Can you hear my thoughts?"

"How...how is this possible?" Gina's voice was filled with shock. "Humans shouldn't have this ability!"

"I don't know either. But now is not the time to discuss this." Daniel said through his mind, "What do you think of the plan of pretending to be dead?"

Gina was silent for a few seconds, then responded, "It's possible. Wolves don't attack corpses. But how do you know this?"

"I watched it on the National Geographic Channel." Daniel smiled bitterly in his heart.

Lucas saw Daniel and Gina suddenly quiet down and thought they were scared. Just as he was about to speak, he saw Daniel made a "hush" gesture to him.

The three of them quickly lay down on the ground, using ashes and dirt to cover up the smell on their bodies.

The footsteps of the wolves were getting closer.

A huge wolf came out, its fur was dark grey, and its eyes were gleaming with wildness. It circled around the three of them, occasionally lowering its head to sniff.

Daniel held his breath, his heart beating so fast that it seemed like it was going to jump out of his chest.

The wolf stopped beside Gina, its nose almost touching her fur.

At this critical moment, Gina suddenly did something that surprised everyone - she turned over, exposing her belly, and let out an extremely realistic dying groan.

The leader of the pack was stunned for a moment, then lost interest. It raised its head and howled, and the entire pack slowly left.

The crisis was resolved again.

"Genius." Daniel praised through his mind.

Gina responded with a hint of pride: "Acting is a required course in business."

The three of them got up from the ground, and Lucas looked at Daniel and Gina with a more complicated look. The cooperation between these two guys just now... was like they were in sync with each other.

"Let's go," Lucas urged.

But Daniel did not leave immediately, but took out his cell phone. It was late at night, the prime time for business battles.

"Gina, give me your secret account. The one that even Lucas doesn't know about." Daniel said through his mind.

Gina's voice was filled with alarm: "What are you going to do?"

"Since Henry thought you were dead, let him be happy for a while. Then..." Daniel's mouth curled up, "give him a surprise he will never forget."

After a few seconds of silence, a string of complex numbers and passwords appeared directly in Daniel's mind. This way of information transmission made him feel magical, just like the data exchange between two computers.

"This is my personal investment account, and only I know about it." Gina's voice was a little hesitant. "It contains all the personal assets I have accumulated over the past ten years, with a value of..."

"How many?"

"30 billion."

Daniel's hands were shaking so much that he could hardly hold the phone. Thirty billion! What does that mean?

"Are you sure you want to give me this authority?" Daniel asked.

"I believe you." Gina's answer was simple, but the trust was heavy.

Daniel took a deep breath and started to log into his account. When he saw the balance displayed, he almost fainted. It was a dazzling string of numbers, enough to buy half a city.

"Now tell me, what has Henry done these days?" Daniel asked through his mind.

For the next few minutes, Gina's voice calmly analyzed the situation in his mind. She remembered every detail, every asset transfer, every suspicious contract.

"He has transferred control of twelve projects, worth about eight billion." Gina's voice was chilling, "and three large sums of funds were frozen on the grounds of 'risk assessment'."

"What a wolf in sheep's clothing." Daniel cursed in his heart.

Then he fought back.

Under Gina's guidance, Daniel's fingers flew across the screen. Fund transfers, investment instructions, equity transfer agreements...

Every step is as precise as a scalpel.

"Withdraw all investments from the three projects in the Asia-Pacific region." Gina's voice was as cold as ice. "The reason is that the investment environment has deteriorated."

"You will lose a lot of money this way," Daniel warned.

"It doesn't matter. These projects are Henry's favorite. He almost emptied his savings to gain control. Now he has lost everything."

Daniel did so. Within minutes, three projects with a total value of 5 billion were urgently withdrawn.

Meanwhile, in Henry's luxurious office.

"What?! All the projects in the Asia-Pacific region are withdrawing investment?!" Henry stared at the computer screen, his face livid. "This is impossible! The investment authority for these projects only has..."

His words stopped abruptly. Only Leng Yuexin had this authority.

"Check it for me! Check immediately where these instructions are coming from!" Henry roared into the phone.

But Daniel and Gina were prepared. Every transaction went through multiple proxy servers, and the IP address jumped through more than a dozen countries.

"It's not over yet," Gina said through her mind, with a hint of cruel pleasure in her voice, "Initiate the 'cleansing protocol'."

"What is the cleansing protocol?" Daniel asked.

"I planted a hidden weapon inside the company. It's specifically used to deal with internal traitors."

The following operation made Daniel truly experience the iron-blooded methods of the queen of the business world.

Confidential documents were "accidentally" leaked, all of which were records of Henry's illegal operations over the years, including embezzlement of public funds, insider trading, and even some shady overseas fund transactions.

At the same time, several of Henry's core subordinates received an "anonymous report" which stated that Henry was planning to use them as scapegoats.

"You want him to die." Daniel sighed.

"There is no need for mercy when dealing with traitors." Gina's voice was cold and without warmth. "This is just the appetizer."

Sure enough, within half an hour, Henry's office was in chaos. The phone kept ringing, and every ring was bad news.

Projects were withdrawn, funds were frozen, partners broke contracts, and key subordinates defected...

In just one night, everything Henry had worked so hard to build collapsed.

But the most fatal blow was yet to come.

"Send an email to the board of directors." Gina's voice was full of amusement. "Use my personal email address to tell them that I'm fine and just dealing with some personal matters overseas. By the way, I'm very touched by some people's 'concern'."

The moment this email was sent, Henry's face turned completely green.

He knew it was over. Completely over.

"He should know by now that you are still alive." Daniel said through his mind.

"Let him know." Gina's voice was full of arrogance. "A clown can't make any big waves."

But Daniel felt a little uneasy. Since Henry dared to hire the Hunter Guild and the Scavengers, it meant that the power behind him was far more complicated than he imagined.

Now that the fact that Gina is still alive has been exposed, will it lead to even greater trouble?

Just then, Lucas's cell phone suddenly rang.

Caller ID: Henry.
