Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

 At amazon

Esther crept toward the exit, heart hammering in her chest. The guards lay sprawled unconscious on the floor outside the cell. What happened to them? She said to herself, she hesitated only for a moment, then bolted. Whatever magic had helped me escape I wasn't going to waste it. Her powers returned the moment she stepped beyond the enchanted cell walls. With a whispered breath, she cloaked myself in invisibility. The air shimmered around her, and she vanished into it. No one could see me now she whispered . She sprinted through the dim-lit forest halls of the palace, avoiding leaves rustling underfoot. But as she ran, something tugged at her thoughts. "The treasure. The soul of amazon". She veered off the path and darted toward the Sacred Vault, the heart of the kingdom guarded day and night by the fiercest warriors.

Still cloaked in her invisibility, she slipped through the entrance undetected. Her breath caught as she entered the treasure chamber. There it was. The Heart of Amazon. A glowing relic, shaped like a delicate heart bound in golden thread. The source of the Queen's power. Of the throne itself. If I took it, she would lose everything. Her throne. Her life. In three weeks, she'd fade unless she abdicated. Maybe this is my justice.

Her hand trembled as she reached for it—but she didn't stop. The moment she lifted the relic from its pedestal, a sharp, resonating chime split through the palace. An alarm. Everyone would know. They'd come. She turned and sprinted, nearly colliding with two guards rushing in. But they couldn't see her. Not yet. She kept running, lungs burning, legs aching. She pushed herself harder, deeper into the wild trees, until she reached the edge of Amazon . There, shimmering in the air like a tear in reality, was the boundary. The portal. My only escape she thought. Beyond it lay another world, an alien planet. Crossing over would strip me of all powers. And even if I was lucky, there was only a slim chance they'd return. But staying meant death.I looked back.Voices rang out behind me. "Find her! Search every corner!" Her heartbeat roared in her ears. With a gasp, she wrapped the treasure's rope around her neck, securing it against her chest. Then she leapt. Straight into the portal. And disappeared into the light.

Daniel bounded down the stairs, headphones blaring, a school bag slung over one shoulder. A beat thumped through his chest as he mouthed the lyrics, already vibing with the morning. At the dining table, Mum looked up from her cup of tea and smiled.

"Morning, sugar." He leaned over and kissed her cheek. "Morning, Queen Mum." "You're unusually cheerful today," she noted as he slid into his seat.

"Yeah. Gotta keep the vibes high." He pulled out his earbuds and tossed them on the table, grabbing a fork.

School was calling. Or maybe it was the girls. Either way, I couldn't wait to walk in and watch heads turn.

A maid brought over his breakfast, and he dug in.

"Any word from Dad?" he asked between bites.

She sighed. "Still in Europe. The project's dragging on longer than expected." he rolled his eyes.

Typical.

The billionaire father is rarely home, always working. It was just me and Mum most of the time. After breakfast, Daniel Mum surprised him by grabbing her keys."I'll drive you to school today," she said. He blinked. "You? Why?" "I'm seeing a friend near your school. Might as well play chauffeur for once."I wasn't about to complain."he said, We stepped out, and I settled in the passenger seat, scrolling through my phone until she tapped my arm. "Look," she said, pointing ahead. I followed her gaze and grinned. It was a giant billboard of me. From a fragrance shoot last month. One of my many endorsements. I tilted my head with a smirk. "Damn, you raised a fine one." Mum laughed, shaking her head. "You're impossible." When we reached school, she pulled over and brushed my hair from my face like I was still a kid. "Want anything special for lunch?" she asked, adjusting my collar. "I'll decide when I get back," I said coolly. With a final kiss on my cheek, she watched me walk through the gates. I was back. Let the games begin. Where were my ladies?

After dropping Daniel off, Daniel mum made way to Ashley's place. I hadn't seen her in weeks, and we needed to talk badly "she thought, the coastal drive was long but calming, and when she finally arrived at her beach house, she parked and stepped out. The salty breeze brushed through her hair as she walked toward the house. Then something caught her eye near the water. She stopped. What…?

There on the sand someone was getting up. A girl. And she was completely naked. What in the world? She squinted, trying to make sense of what she was seeing. Who was she? And where had she come from?

The real story begins now. Uncover what happens next in the next chapter
