"I'm sorry, David, but let's break up. This relationship just isn't going to work out."
"Don't talk to me at school, David. I don't want people to know that you're my brother."
"Huh, you want to go with us? Don't joke around; just stay at home and keep quiet. I don't want you to embarrass us in public."
"Stop calling me 'mother'! What have I ever done to deserve this? WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST BE NORMAL?"
Lying on the bloody ground, David stared up at the clear sky, the various cries and screams of pedestrians echoing in his ears as they ran for their lives, the streets littered with corpses.
A large army of Flaxans poured out of a massive portal, pursuing the fleeing crowd and firing their weapons.
David ignored his surroundings as he lost himself in his memories.
From the earliest moments he could recall, David had always been an outcast—feared and despised by family and friends.
It was clear to him why. The reason for this was that he was unusual. Given that his parents had experimented on him since birth in their pursuit of the ideal human, that was inevitable.
However, their results exceeded anything they could have anticipated. Instead of creating a flawless human, they had produced something far more terrifying: a monster, a devil—no, a god possessing unfathomable power.
Out of fear, they tried everything to suppress his powers, giving him medications and preventing him from using them while forcing him to stay inside the house at all times.
As time passed, he became increasingly isolated from the world, never getting to experience life as a teenager. He had no friends, no one spoke to him at school, and he was unable to enjoy a normal life.
He had managed to get a girlfriend luckily; her name was Samantha Eve, a popular girl at his school. The day she accepted his confession was the happiest day of his life. However, as they say, all good things come to an end.
After being together for two years, she abruptly ended their relationship. Now he lay on the ground, wallowing in self-pity.
"Why?" David clenched his fist and asked the question with trembling lips.
"It's because you limit yourself. Why do you continue to hold yourself back?" A voice echoed in his head.
"I just wanted to finally feel love," David bit his lip and replied.
"Now, however, I only want this pain to disappear." He continued as he closed his eyes and awaited death.
"Then let me make your pain go away." the voice whispered.
Not rejecting the voice's offer, tears streamed down David's cheeks as he surrendered and finally fell asleep.
A Flaxan approached David slowly, aiming its weapon at his defenseless body.
In the next moment, the alien was lifted into the air and crushed, its blood, flesh, and organs scattering onto the ground with a loud thump.
Opening his eyes, David surveyed the bloody scene before him with a sense of indifference. He rose to his feet and took in his surroundings, then shifted his focus to the advancing Flaxan army.
Having witnessed the death of their comrade, the Flaxans opened fire on David. However, their attacks proved ineffective as they abruptly halted midair.
Shocked, the Flaxans had no time to react as David, with a single wave of his hand, redirected their projectiles back at them.
"Disgusting bugs," David spat, watching as a significant number of Flaxans fell lifeless to the ground.
Enraged, the remaining Flaxans charged at him, determined to overwhelm him.
Undeterred, David soared into the air, his eyes glowing red as he unleashed a devastating beam of intense heat toward the large army, disintegrating them and slicing through them like paper.
As their numbers rapidly dwindled, the army began to retreat, hurrying back to close the portal to their home world.
David, not interested in pursuing the retreating army, observed as the portal gradually closed while heroes rushed onto the scene.
"Woah!" Rexplode exclaimed, taking in the sight before him.
"What exactly happened here?" Invincible asked, looking at David.
"David!" Atom Eve blurted out in surprise, recognizing the figure in the air.
The rest of the team turned to her, surprised.
"Atom Eve, do you know this individual?" Robot asked.
Atom Eve nodded, her expression complicated.
Ignoring the reactions of the young heroes, David clenched his hand as he examined his body.
He let out a sigh of relief while gazing up at the clear blue sky. A wave of melancholy washed over him, yet his face lit up with a smile as he took a deep breath and slowly exhaled.
"Finally, after all these years, I'm free." He chuckled as he recalled the first time he opened his eyes to this new world.
David, known as David Haller in his previous life, was an ordinary orphan who learned to navigate life on his own. One day, he was involved in a car accident and found himself reincarnated in the world of Invincible, inhabiting the body of a boy who shared his name.
However, instead of taking over the boy's body, he became one of the boy's many alternate personalities, as the boy suffered from dissociative identity disorder. Over the years, he managed to absorb each of the other personalities. In doing so, he gained their powers, as each one wielded extraordinary abilities.
Having long merged with all the personalities, David could have taken control at any moment. However, after living alongside the boy and witnessing his experiences throughout his life, David couldn't bring himself to do it, silently observing through the boy's eyes.
That was until today, when the boy, unable to endure any longer, attempted to take his own life.
'Don't worry, I won't kill them, but I'll make sure they regret everything they did to you ,' he vowed silently.
David glanced back at the team of young heroes before propelling himself into the sky, vanishing in a streak that sent shockwaves rippling through the air.
In the rubble, the group watched as David quickly vanished from their sight.
"He just ignored us!" Rex complained as he turned to look at Mark.
"By the way, I've been meaning to ask, but who are you?"
"Me?" Mark pointed to himself.
