* Auditor's Note: Do not attempt to feed or touch. They exist in a state of high-frequency vibration. Physical contact can cause "Static Burn," a condition where the victim's own memories begin to pixelate and disappear.

Phenomena: Grade-4 Lingering Residue (The "Sludge")
This is the primary "waste product" that Quilla encountered in Aunt Hel's drawing room. It is the physical weight of a soul that refused to leave.
* Composition: A non-Newtonian fluid consisting of unprocessed ego, concentrated regret, and spiritual bile. It is iridescent violet because that is the color of the spectrum just before it becomes invisible to the human eye.
* Containment: Must be neutralized with Iron-Salt Scrub. If left alone, the residue will eventually "echo," replaying the worst moments of the deceased's life on a loop.
* The "Whisper" Effect: The Residue is telepathic. It will attempt to lure the Auditor by mimicking the voices of loved ones (as Quilla heard her mother). This is a defense mechanism to prevent the final Balancing.

Heathrow acts as a natural drain for the borough's leakage, pulling it toward the runways where it is often dissipated by the heat of jet engines—or, more dangerously, hitches a ride on unsuspecting passengers.
* Risk Factor: Auditors are advised to wear dampened headphones or "Lead-Lined" jewelry when within a 5-mile radius to avoid "Syncing" with the thousands of stray thoughts floating in the terminal.

The most vital tool in the Auditor's kit. Without it, a Clarke is just a person who sees ghosts; with it, they are a force of nature.
* Function: It acts as a "Lens of Truth." When looked through or worn, it highlights the "Debt" of a soul in glowing numerals or symbols.
* The Material: Cold-forged iron mixed with "Audit Dust" (the ash left over from a successful settlement).
* Inheritance: The ring is semi-sentient. It will "warm up" when near a significant Leakage and has been known to disappear from the wearer's finger if it decides they are no longer fit to hold the Balance.
