Chapter 1 - The Woman in Red

The bass thumped through the walls of *Velvet Room*, one of the most exclusive clubs in California. The lights were low, the air thick with perfume, secrets, and champagne.

Michael Yin stood at the upper VIP lounge, drink in hand, observing the crowd below with cold, calculating eyes. Billionaire. CEO. Untouchable. But even power has enemies-and someone inside *Yinix Corp* was bleeding him dry from within.

His security firm had failed. His board was restless. Time was ticking.

Then... he saw her.

A woman in a sleek red dress, laughing boldly with her friend, sipping from a glass like she owned the place. Her eyes were sharp. Her energy magnetic. She wasn't like the others.

"Who's that?" Michael asked, still watching her.

His assistant checked his phone. "Name's Annabell. No obvious records. Independent. Came in with Mia... club regular."

Michael didn't hear the rest. He was already on the move.

-

Annabell felt someone watching her.

Turning around, her eyes met his-tall, commanding, dressed in black, his gaze burning like fire. She straightened slightly, heart fluttering. He walked toward her like he knew she'd be his.

"You don't belong here," he said smoothly.

"Neither do you," she shot back, unshaken.

He smiled slightly. "Come with me."

She hesitated. Something about him was dangerous... and yet, she followed.

-

Up in the lounge, the world seemed quieter. He handed her a glass of water, not champagne. Respectful. Unexpected.

"I'm Michael," he said. "I need someone smart, observant, and bold."

Annabell raised a brow. "That why you dragged me up here?"

"I'm offering you a job. Personal assistant. Short term. High pay. Full access. I need to find a traitor. Someone is sabotaging my company."

She laughed lightly. "And you think the girl you just picked from a crowd can help?"

"I know what I see," he said, stepping closer. "And I don't make mistakes."

The air between them charged. Her breath caught. He was too close. Too confident.

"Think about it," he whispered. "You start Monday."

He left her stunned, intrigued... and wanting more.
